Mountain View es una hermosa cabaña en un entorno natural. Puede relajarse en la bañera de hidromasaje, visitar el pequeño arroyo en el borde de la propiedad o la presa, caminar por el paseo del árbol de limón, o simplemente sentarse y disfrutar de las vistas desde el amanecer hasta la luz de las estrellas. El amanecer y el anochecer ven a los canguros locales reunirse y las muchas aves cantan y se alimentan de nuestros 100 acres.

A solo 10 minutos de Dungog, a 2 kilómetros de un arroyo claro para nadar o hacer un picnic, a 30 minutos en coche del Parque Nacional Barrington Tops y uno de los 3 edificios en 100 acres (en su mayoría arbustos, parcialmente despejados) significa que hay algo para todos .

Venga solo, como pareja, una pequeña familia o grupo para disfrutar de vistas panorámicas pacíficas a través del valle del río Williams a Barrington Tops y el arbusto circundante aquí en nuestros 100 acres.
Hay un amplio dormitorio con una cama doble, baño para discapacitados, una habitación con literas con literas individuales, una cocina totalmente equipada con estufa y refrigerador de tamaño completo, además de aire acondicionado de ciclo inverso, TV y reproductor de DVD en el amplio salón área, y una barbacoa afuera. Así que atiéndete o dirígete a Dungog (a menos de 15 minutos) a uno de sus restaurantes.

En los meses más fríos, su fogata al aire libre le brinda un lugar acogedor para sentarse bajo las estrellas.

Mountain View cabin at Fosterton Retreat was a great place to stay. Host Max is friendly and chilled. He met us at check in and after showing us around we had 101 acres to ourselves as there were no other guests. We were planning on driving out to Barrington Tops to do some walks but ended up staying at the property to do their short walks, checking out their labyrinths, wildlife spotting and star gazing. Nearby river is a short drive away which was a cool and refreshing place for a dip. Cabin itself was cosy and comfortable with everything we needed for 4. We really enjoyed our relaxing weekend at Fosterton Retreat.

A perfect secluded getaway for some R & R.

A peaceful, comfortable cabin in the mountains where we could relax and unwind, enjoy the natural surroundings and explore the country town of Dungog. The cabin has everything you would need for a short or long stay. Max our host was informative, friendly and accommodating and we can’t wait to visit again.

Peaceful cabin getaway

Location was beautiful and quiet. Cabin had everything you needed. Comfy bed, lovely bathroom, aircon, bbq and great outdoor fire pit. Will definitely be coming back. Host Max was fabulous, very friendly and helpful. Unique grass Labyrinths to find on property.

Beautiful country retreat to enjoy some peace, quiet and plenty of nature

We had a wonderful stay at the Fosterton Retreat. It was a lovely cottage located on a beautiful block of land surrounded by nature. Many local wallabies hanging out and an easily accessible river for the hot days. Would definitely recommend staying here for a country escape. Max and Bronwyn were very helpful as well, giving detailed directions and local knowledge.

Beautifully situated and serene

Lovely two bedroom farm house out in the bush, situated amongst trees and bushland with kangaroos and wildlife around. Deck, spa, BBQ and epic fire pit that you can cook over under the stars. Kids bedroom and toys ready to go. Loved it.

Short stay

We enjoyed the Mountain View cabin. There was everything we needed. The first day weather was rainy and cold, but the cabin was lovely and warm. The spa bath was lovely after our walk around the Dungog Common. The location of the cabin was very convenient, a short drive from Dungog. The bed was very comfortable. Everything was clean and neat. Firewood also provided, which was excellent as the forest was wet due to rain. Gladly recpmmend this place.

lovely, remote and peaceful location

Property is in a very peaceful spot. The bathroom is shared through the main bedroom so probably better suited to family than a group of friends. The bunk beds were definitely suited to children and not adults again leaning towards a family rental. Max was very communicative and we had everything we needed for our brief stay. thanks

Lovely with a bit of a water kerfuffle

Returning to fosterton retreat was a delight. The natural beauty around is a marvel, great privacy from the other properties nearby and the cabin itself is still incredibly cute and exactly what we wanted. Only trouble this time was the water pump having a melt down, and after some emergency repairs the hot water being nothing but a dribble the entire time (making showers or the bath unfeasible). Best to send a message to the hosts to ensure everything is great before you arrive. Besides this, highly recommend staying here.

Bronwyn & Max are both amazed with the beauty of nature and the resourcefulness of people. We met out the back of Bourke (country NSW) & been happy living in the city, but are pleased to be able to get back to the country.
As you see we are colourful people who are both artists who love to create, Max in wood and Bronwyn in paints, textiles, & lots of other medium, selling their work locally in the Hunter. Some of their work can be found throughout the property as well as Bronwyn's in the local Dungog by Design.
Max is also a labyrinth enthusiast & works as counsellor, while Bronwyn is studying & teaching in the art sector at the University of Newcastle.
We enjoy and have spent a lot of our lives helping people (ourselves included) connect with community, family, partners, and nature, all while encouraging people to be creative and go deeper.
So there are 4 labyrinths on the property- 1 marked out on the slope as you come up to the house another laid into the ground on the left of the driveway down to the cabins. Feel free to walk one or all of them. Take your time.
We also run creative nature & creative spiritual workshops & retreats here & elsewhere .

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

This is a 30 year dream come true- we have wanted to have a country place where individuals, families and groups connect with people, nature, creativity and community. We like to gather our children and grandchildren, parents and wider family here and want others to experience that too. Finding a cedar clad place on 100 acres was amazing- there were good 'bones' in place to create a charming, welcoming and artistic feel, a place where there can be nurture of the land, relationships and the soul.
Most of the property, while secondary growth, is natural bushland with various habitats; bush, dry sclerophyll and wet gullies, creek, grasslands, steep and more gentle hillsides; so we have cut some walks through for people to enjoy and connect with it themselves. While we and others have spotted over 30 different bird species we don't believe we have seen them all yet. As well as birds the wallabies are so wonderful, grazing most morning and evenings, often with their joeys and these are less skittish the longer we are there.
Bronwyn's great grandmother was born around this area, so there are other ways it is a re-connection for us as well.
Fosterton Retreat also inspires our creativity and we want to be able to encourage this in others while providing a place and opportunities for personal, relational, communal, environmental transformation & restoration. Fosterton Retreat gives us a chance to do all this.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

It's hard to go past the clean air, the great views, the wallabies grazing, the numerous native birds & the 100 acres these cabins sit in with different habitats, eg: a wet gully, a hilly grassland & magnificent views. BUT the buildings themselves also attracted us. We fell in love with these cabins as each are based on the traditional Australian settler cabin, with good-sized rooms, dado rails, verandahs to help keep it cool, & provide a place to enjoy the view or the breeze. Being clad in cedar (originally red cedar was common in this area) is a bonus.
We are putting our own touch on this place, welcoming, practical touches- like places to put your bags in each room, as well as artistic touches, that make this even more unique- like themed rooms, carefully chosen artworks and colourful doona covers that add to the effect of the decor.
As we work to establish more plants in and around the property, these are purposely chosen for their suitability for the area and to attract more wildlife, especially birds. Mostly we are putting in plants indigenous to this area, but there we have included a couple of others for their therapeutic and symbolic nature.
This is not a sterile environment and will not look or feel like every other house you've been to (maybe like no other house you've been to) & we think that is great.
