Amazing place! Totally off the grid and away from madness of everyday life. Took our teenage kids who freaked to find there was no wifi but ended up having an awesome time. Super private and picturesque location. Take your own games and food. There is no uber eats close by. Hoping to return one day. Oh, and hosts are lovely, nice people.

Beautiful experience and stay

Had a comfortable stay at the lodge for 2 nights. Explored Mount Gambier and had adventures on the farm. Lots of memories made. Loved the sunrise in the morning up over the lake and the open fire.

Perfect secluded spot

Staying in this bespoke quiet cottage was a real treat. The handmade features enhanced the joy of staying in the middle of a private lake. Waking up to a beautiful sunrise over the water with ducks and swans swimming past before enjoying a relaxed breakfast in anticipation of a day in Mount Gambier was a real highlight. Thank you for building this!!!

Perfect stay

Friendly hosts , very informative about the area and tour of property, comfortable beds love the flashing ligts in shower, love Nevilles informative hobbies found them very interesting. The honey and quince jam very tastey and fresh. Enjoyed learning about the process of modern day dairies. Love laying in bed waking up to lovely sun rise out of bed room window.The lay out of little house surrounded by water was lovely.

A very different and enjoyable place to stay

A very different and enjoyable place to stay. Great to see the cows getting milked and to feel the atmosphere of a working dairy farm. Nev went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Catching a trout was the icing on the cake!

Fishing and Country Getaway Gem

A completely different farm stay. Neville is a great host. He is very knowledgeable. His talent for making musical instruments is amazing considering he was shelf taught.

We had a wonderful stay at the Fly Fishing Lodge. The location is gorgeous & peaceful. Sitting on the deck feeding the trout & watching the cows go by whilst having our morning coffee is something we will both miss. Neville & Barbara are lovely hosts. Neville serenades his guests with several musical instruments upon arrival & loves to show his fascinating collections to his guests. We arranged to take a tour through the properties Dairy. The technology today is really quite amazing & the care of the cows, especially of the calves is very evident. The area boasts lots of interesting activities & eating places. We especially enjoyed the Bellum Hotel @ Mount Schank. A typical, welcoming country pub that offers a great night out, especially on the weekends. The Fly Fishing Lodge is a great base to explore the area or just to sit & relax & chill. Thanks Neville & Barbara.

"I feel like a new person"

What an absolutely amazing experience. A diamond off the beaten track. Catching fish from the deck, having the kids experience the 'country', learning about the history of the property, experiencing the gracious hospitality of the hosts and seeing all the 'projects' that Nev has been working on with building musical instruments to fruit bunkers and even a sheep that has a liking for smarties. This is a must do for anyone who has kids that need an escape. As we headed home and were debriefing about the trip in the car, Miss 8 said "Dad, I feel like a new person and never realised that we dont need devices and that exercise is so much fun.

Great place, but don't expect to be left alone.

The hosts invited themselves into the accommodation after I checked in and didn't seem keen to leave. They also entered the property, without telling me, while I was away, and left foot tracks all over the carpet and floors. Then the next morning the host came over unannounced and insisted I should do a tour of the property. I explained that was not the reason why I booked and wanted to be left alone. 2 hours later he showed up AGAIN insisting to show me some things he had found. Wouldn't leave after telling him multiple times I wanted to be left alone. Ended up closing the door in tears. After an issue not being able to open the door from the inside I left that night and stayed elsewhere. Book here if you don't mind having the hosts being part of your holiday. They seem like a lovely couple, but would not recommend if you want some peace and quiet and to be alone. Was not happy and called to file a complaint.

This is a great relaxing getaway. Nothing more serene than looking out every window to see water, ducks, fish and sheep. Neville and Barb are characters and make the stay so unique. Definitely recommend.

peaceful getaway

Unique property, very informative host, learnt a lot about Dairy farming and gems while we were there that we would not have had the chance to ever see. If you are into fishing it is the place to be.

Nice time with the family

Great hospitality from Nev and Barb, wonderful place with water right around! Kids enjoyed a lot, I wish I booked a couple more days. Nev is a man of many skills and creativity , still very humble. He even drove us around to show his farm, with explanations.

Great place to stay

We loved this unique property where you can fish and do other water activities such as kayaking, boating and paddleboating right at your doorstep. It has a calm and relaxing atmosphere. The highlight of our stay was watching the sun slowly rise over the wide expanse of land with the trees and sky reflecting on the water. It was magnificent! Neville and Barb are very hospitable. Neville showed us around and even entertained us by playing his button accordion and violin! He is a very talented man! It's a holiday accommodation we will never forget.
