Awesome weekend away

Property was very easy to locate and in a nice private location, close to shops and impressive wineries, very much recommend staying here.

Hillcrest was so relaxing. A great space!

Hillcrest was so relaxing for our friends. We were away for my husband’s surprise 30th and this was a great space that we were able to enjoy with a group of 6 of us. Close to some nice wineries including Degen Estate. Worth a visit!

Large house with all the amenities. Indoors was quite clean however the outdoor furniture wasn’t.

Fantastic location close to restaurants and vineyards and Matilda Bay brewery

-Great location, in the heart of wine country - property well equipped, bathrooms adequate - beautiful and quiet at night - undercover areas is fairly basic - fenced yard, perfect for your dog to roam safely Only negative is the house needs a thorough deep clean, looks clean, however many surfaces were covered in dust, also blinds need replacing as all brackets broken and difficult to raise/lower without them falling off wall

Dad’s 60th

The family enjoyed a long weekend at Hillcrest House. The house was great ,plenty of room both inside and out. Given that we were blessed with amazing sunshine the pool was an added bonus. The property was in great location and accessible to the wineries we chose to visit. Thanks for a wonderful weekend and enjoyable birthday

NYE Trip

Overall had a decent experience here. There was plumbing issues during our stay which I've already emailed about as they were major. Quiet location and the pool was great for when it was hot weather, byo pool toys though. Had basic utensils for cooking but no multi purpose spray out of the products they had for cleaning. BBQ wasn't in a good state when we arrived, had layers of grease and build up on it which indicated it hadn't been cleaned for a while. Beds were comfy. Lounge room was a good size. Outdoor seating was fantastic until the sewage smell came about from the septic tank overflowing across from us. This stay definitely could have been better without those negatives but it is what is. Wouldn't want to pay the same price to stay again.

Perfectly peaceful

Thank you for a wonderful short holiday at this lovely property. Secluded and peaceful but still close enough to all the best parts of the Hunter. Perfect! Would definitely stay again. The only reason this got 4 stars instead of 5 was the lack of air conditioning in all rooms, which would have made the hot, humid days (and nights) a lot more comfortable.

Hunter magic

This was such a special place to stay. Just a few minutes from the main Pokolbin wineries but away from the crowd, set amongst more interesting boutique operators. The place itself was magic. Wallabies and their joeys grazing at sunrise and sunset, and birds swimming in the dam. After a tough day eating and drinking it was a joy to come back and just sit and watch nature at its best. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

Disappointing

Check in at only 3pm, "Late" checkout at 12pm when cleaners don't even attend on Sunday afternoon. Inside of house was nicely furnished, the outside looks rundown and neglected. Grass was cut but weeds everywhere, even growing on that sandpit where the outside lounge was. Pool nice, but covers of lounges full of bird poo. In detail: 1. Cables were hanging down from TV (unlike picuture in ad) 2. Ipod player was missing 3. left side bathroom sink - blockage - water doesn't drain - no use for us 4. sleeps 8, but you provide 5 placemats, no tablecoths and 1 teatowel? 5. Linen cupboard door in hallway doesn't close 6. Kitchen sliding fly screen door jams and is extremely hard to open and close; little light next to lounge didn't work 7. Outside tables, lounge, pillows FILTHY. Bird poo everywhere. I suppose thats what the owls are for, however, I expected the house to be cleaned prior to our arrival, especially when the check in is only 3pm! 8. Cobwebs on veranda, 9. Table and chair set ouside at the front filthy. The check in and out times annoyed me the most.

2 nights are not enough

2 nights were not enough. Comfortable beds. The pool was fantastic! The vegie patch was a brilliant surprise. Geoffrey, the daschund had a ball. Spacious outdoor areas. Great location amongst the wineries and very close to shops. We will most certainly return.

Good location and comfortable

A spacious house in a good location close to the hunter wineries and restaurants. Comfortable beds. Could do with some more thorough cleaning as well as some basic kitchen condiments like sauces (as is the norm in many other home stays).

Fabulous

Hillcrest House was a fabulous place to stay. The big table outside was our favourite place and we spent a lot of time in the pool. It was clean, the kitchen very well appointed with nice sharp knives and the beds very comfortable. We were 4 friends staying for the weekend of A Day on the Green and it is very convenient to Bimbadgen Estate.

Great weekend getaway

Great property, kitchen was very well stocked with every utensil you could need which was fab. Pool was fantastic & loved the fruit trees & vege patch/herbs and even better a wide open space for the dog to run.
