Time spent here sharing pure nature along with free range wild life.

Lovely stay

We really enjoy our stay at the cottage, especially the very nice hot tub and best stocked kitchen. Best place we ever stayed at, highly recommended!

Christmas wonderland

Second time staying during the holiday season. We really like all the Christmas decorations really makes it special. The view of the lake is great and hot tub is awesome.

Rest, Fun and Friends

The cottage on the beach was welcoming, well stocked with games, water sport options and peace places to take in the view. The host communictikn was timely and keep us informed before and after arrival. We willnd back for a future visit (and will stay longer)!

We loved our stay, the hosts had excellent communication and were so welcoming, the heat and lights were on when we arrived at night and everything was clean and cosy. The cottage would be amazing to stay at in summer, if we didn’t live in Australia we would definitely be back!

Great little weekend away

Extremely cozy and comfortable. Everything you could possibly need was thought of and made available. It is clear that Great care, attention and love was put into this home. We were disappointed to see this cabin is already booked up for the summer but it’s no surprise. We will be back and will recommend to our friend.

This cabin is situated on a beautiful lake with a stunning lake view from the cabin, hot tub and dock. The cabin itself is really cute. We had 4 adults and our dog. The deck has a propane fire area to sit and lots of seating, a table and barbeque. You can lock your fur babies in on the deck and lower grassy area with portable gates. The rocks on the beach may irritate an over zealous water dog's paws! The cabin comes equipped with water toys and lifejackets. As you stay at the cabin, the decor is a daily delight as each day you notice something quaint and new. It's filled with all the cookware and spices and coffee flavouring that you likely need. There is no working dishwasher - except me! There is definitely a working smoke detector in the kitchen! It's really a lovely place. There is a cabin above on the property which you have to share the beach with. If the other cabin take the dock, you do miss the sunset on the farthest part of the dock looking down the lake, so be prepared to share! Paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming, sweet barbeques on a beautiful deck with gazebo lights, and a hot tub with a view that also lights up, made the stay beautiful even in rainy weather. You'll love it here. The host is attentive and leaves treats. I highly recommend it.

Could be better

The location by the lake and view and outside amenities are outstanding which is why perhaps reviews have been so good. Unfortunately, the inside is needing a good deep clean, repair and painting and replacement of some items. The dish cloths were particularly nasty; old, discolored and stained and were small kitchen towels not de worse by the dish cloths. The sleeping pillows were not great. Youbou is a very small Community on the pristine Cowichan Lake with 10minutes to local amenities , our Lakefront property is located on the North arm of Cowichan Lake which makes it very tranquil, with fabulous mountain views.
