Penngrove Family Christmas

We had a fabulous time. The accommodations worked out perfectly for the 11 of us (3 generations) with 18 of us on Christmas Day. There were enough wine glasses, plates, and silverware for all. We enjoyed the beautiful artwork around the house, too!The host was very accommodating to our requests to enlarge the table for family dinners, extra chairs. He even loaned us a Christmas tree stand.

Nice Getaway

This was a well decorated house with nice amenities. We especially appreciated the plentiful seating, kitchen, hot tub and fire pit. Have to ask for check in/out instructions and wifi pw but host was very responsive overall.

Fantastic home nestled in a great surrounding

The home was absolutely beautiful, comfortable and well supplied with all that we needed. The owner responded to all needs and questions promptly Our only issue is this house has so many doors, and we weren’t able to lock them all. So when we would leave for the day we felt a little uncomfortable that the house was not locked. Additionally there is no air in the main house. It was not unbearable, but it would be better if all windows had screens, and the French doors so you could let some air in to flow through the house. They should also provide more fans than what we’re there to help with air flow Overall the house was perfect for myself, my daughter and 8 of her friends visiting for her 30th birthday.

Love Penngrove

With th exception of lots of stairs this is a lovely home. Great location with charming pizza spot, great coffee & breakfast shop, bakery and kids store just down the block.

Great place

The place is really beautiful inside and out. Lots of great art and furniture. We also had plenty of room with our group. There was a full apartment over the garage with two rooms and the younger people hung out there. There was also lots of outside space. The kitchen actually worked as a kitchen you could cook in. It was altogether a lovely experience

Stunning house. It was the perfect space.

I booked this house for a small writing retreat and it was absolutely perfect. The photos didn't lie and it was a luscious space to be in. The beds (from the mattress to the linen and pillows) were all VERY comfortable. The showers were great with super strong water pressure and really nice bathroom products available. The kitchen was really well stocked in terms of equipment and matching plates and cups. The house was all beautifully done all around with lovely art and thoughtful decor -- clearly NOT a collection of left-overs plopped into the house. The jacuzzi was always on and super hot (so no time waiting for it to warm up). Oh, and there was underfloor heating so we never felt cold. We had a bit of trouble figuring out how the outside doors locked but a quick message to the host told us to pull the handles UP. Sorted. There are about seven thousand light switches but when you figure them out, you can create a perfectly lit space. We bought some Duraflame logs for the fire and host recommended burning one log at the back of the fireplace. Follow those directions and you can't go wrong. There is a cafe down the road with delicious choices and a small market with everything you need. Petaluma is minutes away and foodie central so while we ate out twice, we also got amazing food delivered without an issue. The whole experience was just what I'd hoped for. Thank you for making this space available!

Lovely, peaceful stay!

The property was so cool! Nestled in the trees, it was such a peaceful and beautiful place to stay. I didn't get check-in, check-out, or wifi instructions, so that was just a layer to figure out but the stay was great and Frank was very responsive when needed. I would definitely recommend this property!

Family friendly

My two children and four grandchildren had a wonderful thanksgiving experience on this property. There were gracious spaces for everyone to have some privacy . And the kitchen setup was ideal for serving a lot of food. The kids enjoyed the outside spaces as well. The host was responsive to our questions. We were very satisfied!

Too laid back for the price

The house was very nice, had everything you need and clean. The yard could have used some attention. It made me very nervous that most of the doors didn’t lock. There were a lot of french doors and at least 3 were broken and wouldn’t lock or even close properly. Also the amount of stairs that were inside and outside wasn’t advertised anywhere. There were 5 levels in total inside the house. Three in the master bedroom alone and no handrails—Down 3 stairs to the bed, up 2 to the on suite, up 2 more to the closet. Hard for someone with hip issues or a partying person! No check-in instructions were sent. I had to reach out to manager. Luckily he was quick to respond. For instance, upon checkin he said the door will be unlocked. Upon our arrival there were 2 people on the property looking for a lost cat. It was strange and made me uneasy with all the doors open. It ended up fine, just not as structured and professional as some of the other places we’ve rented. Paying over $3,000 for 4 days I expected a little more.

Enjoying staying in Penngrove

The property has lots of space. The 2 bedrooms + LR + kitchen over the garage give an additional space to hang out. The only minor issues are that it near a main road which I heard at night (jet lagged) and lots of steps. Lana, the housekeeper/manager was great. Frank very nicely arranged for her to clean the garden because we were having a rehearsal dinner for 20 persons outside. Thanks Frank it was very much appreciated.

Great big space for a group

The house was really beautiful and very spacious to host our large group of friends. We cooked several meals at the house and the kitchen was well equipped to handle that. The annex unit above the garage was so much larger than expected and really exceeded expectations. This was a great overflow space and a cozy spot to watch movies, etc. The hot tub is pretty small so only 4 of us could be in it at once but we used it almost every night. The outdoor space was beautiful and felt like you are in a secret garden and provided plenty of privacy from our neighbors. We could have used more check-in instructions and general information about the house and received no check-out instructions but we managed just fine. We had one minor issue during our stay for which we had to call Frank and he answered immediately and resolved our issue. Overall we had an amazing trip and would absolutely recommend this property!

Spacious getaway

My husband and I came up with a small, close group of friends. The property is super spacious with tons of room for a large family or group of friends. The space above the garage was huge and air conditioned. The main house didn’t have a/c (or rather we couldn’t figure it out) so it did get a bit warm in the bedrooms. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you would need to cook and grill. The yard was large enough for us to hang out, play some frisbee, and use the fire pit in the evening. We stayed on the property the entire weekend so I can’t speak the location in terms of getting around but there is a nice market less than a 5mins drive. Overall, it was a perfect place for a mini getaway.
