Tickles Cottage was built in 1850 by the cornish miners and is adjacent to Peppertree Cottage in a beautiful Rural Setting.
Cottages can be booked together or separately. Only 2 km south of the historical township of Mintaro in the beautiful Clare Valley. Walking distance to Martindale
Hall and Mintaro Maze. Mintaro has the best country pub, Magpie and Stump for lunches and dinners.
Historical Burra is only half an hour away.
Clare Valley has excellent wineries and the Reisling trail to explore.

Peaceful surroundings. Comfortable beds, facilities clean and spacious. Relaxing break, would recommend a stay. Nice drives through the valley easy to get to.And Margie makes the best cumquat jam.

Stayed in Peppertree... easy location to find and get around. Great fire, linens, and plenty of heating to keep us cosy. The possums were rather active in the roof on Sunday night, but luckily only for a short period. thanks for having us. We will be back !

Quaint cottage

Nice quaint cottage. V clean & tidy with good amenities. Only downside was the distance of the toilet from the main bedroom. Bed was super comfortable & the reverse cycle heating a blessing on the chilly nights. The real fire was a lovely bonus in the evening as was the outside BBQ. A small point was the cleaners forgot to empty the kitchen bin so we took it out ourselves. Overall a very enjoyable stay & would book again. Also a fence separating the other Accomodation would have provided more privacy from the other cottage Accomodation onsite. Thank You.

Not so isolated

Beautiful home, but there was another cottage with guests staying in it only a few steps from the back door which was not advertised on the website. This caused me to feel a bit stressed considering both parties had dogs. I came to the 'rural retreat' to get away from neighbours.The neighbours were also disappointed with the situation.

Peace and Quiet.

Comfortable accommodation. Only negative is the extensive invasion of earwigs inside the property and this requires attention.

Tickles Revue

We supplied our own breakfast cereal, bread, milk, butter. The location is great, the bed very comfortable and thank goodness for the air conditioners. For similar charges we have had more modern accomodation with welcoming bottle of port and confectionry along with a choice from a range of breakfast cereals. The left side bedside lamp has a loose connection into the switch causing the light to flutter if the light cord was moved. I greased the front door key lock since it was difficult to use the key.

Relaxing Break

Thank you for the very pleasant stay. It felt so welcoming to walk in and have the lamps on - just what we needed to help switch off and relax. Everything was very comfortable, and we loved the fire and beautiful touches like the candles and lost of bread. Thanks again.

We are lucky to live in an 1854 cottage and very much appreciated the restoration of Tickle Cottage, the furniture and all of the quality kitchen equipment

Absolute perfection

We hired both this stunning, Tickle Cottage, along with Peppertree for bridal party accommodation for our nearby wedding. The close proximity of both cottages worked extremely well, with groom & groomsmen in Peppertree & the Bride & bridesmaids in Tickle cottage. Being slightly bigger, Tickle cottage provided plenty of room for all that goes with girly prep for the big day, and a beautiful setting for prep & pre wedding photos. Peppered while smaller was perfect for groom party use and pre wedding photos. Would highly recommend these cottages for any bride & groom planing a destination wedding in the local area and any getaways involving close friends & family.

Great place to stay

Loved the house and was very clean and beautifully decorated. Very comfy beds. Was very pleasant sitting on the porch having breakfast overlooking the sheep and the odd kangaroo. Had everything we needed. Lovely quiet rural position and close to Mintaro, Clare and wineries. Was great we could take our little dog who enjoyed it a lot. Can definitely recommend his stay.

Absolutely perfect

Tickles Cottage is just beautiful. A lovely house, in a beautiful location, we loved everything about it. It’s even better than the pictures depict. It was so relaxing, sitting on the verandah, with kookaburras laughing, and we even saw a couple of kangaroos. The cottage is clean, has modern facilities and is very comfortable. The location is exactly what we wanted, a little bit rural but not too far from things. The pub is friendly, with good food and to be able to take our dogs away with us, where they were completely welcome, was fantastic. Thanks Margie, we will definitely be back!
