A private apartment featuring queen bed in separate room with ranch sliders on to patio, 2 x sofas, log fire and full kitchen with small table. A large bathroom with shower, toilet and basin. The ranch slider doors open on to a small private lawn above a beautiful forest stream.

Ideal location for enjoying the multitudes of day walks: Wharariki, Farewell Spit, Knuckle hill, Aorere Caves, Moonlight Flat...and nth end of Abel Tasman.

A Wonderful out of the way place!

We had just the most amazing 12 days while we were at this Bach! It was down to earth and comfortable, which pretty much suited us perfectly! It was in a great location so that we could explore the area really well! I managed to mix up a little home cooking to compliment visits to the local cafes and pubs which all served excellent meals! A HUGE thank you to Cory and Sophie not only for your friendliness, but for always being available to meet any needs we had! If we are down that way again we would love to come and stay at this Bach!

Not happy campers!!

Book a bach had not informed the property managers that we had booked. We arrived to find our apartment was booked by someone else. I will not be using Book a bach again

Very nice location. Lovely cottage.

Best night's sleep I've had for weeks. Lovely bush setting with small stream close by. Native bird life. No road noises. Nice hosts. Would recommend.

The fact that apartment was expected and it was more in line with a hikers hut. Very unpleasant stay. Isolated and primitive would be the description. Not at all what we expected.

Relaxing and quiet

We enjoyed our stay at the inlet, great proximity to the beach and for exploring surrounding areas. Nestled in native Bush and being away from suburbia makes for a quiet, relaxing stay. Thanks also to the hosts who are very friendly and approachable and make you feel welcome. Highly recommend this place

Nice accommodation and good location for exploring Farewell Spit and Whakariki beach. Well equipped kitchen for self catering. No view of the beach but it is just a short walk away.

Enjoyed my stay

Thanks Jonathan for the lovely accommodation surrounded by beautiful nature. This studio unit has everything you need for basic needs. I would have preferred to have a jug, and microwave for heating up food instead of the stove only. Loved the fire place option but kindling would be good to be able to start a fire if needed. Towels and shampoo were provided but bring your shower gel. Thanks again Jonathan.

Great little hideaway. Peaceful, quiet and relaxing. Lovely to listen to the birdsong and the babbling stream. Handy to the areas we wanted to explore and nice to come back to, light the fire and curl up with a good book 😊

Fantastic mini getaway in Golden Bay

The hosts Jonathan and Katie were very supportive and helpful during the booking process. We met Katie on arrival, she was very accommodating and gave us a tour around the property. The size and layout of the accommodation suited us well and we enjoyed the fireplace. Great location between Collingwood and Farewell Spit with only a 30 minute drive to Wharariki Beach which was one of our highlights. Note - this is not a standalone cottage, it is joined with more accommodation. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend staying here.

Private Pakawau retreat

This studio apartment is set in luscious native bush. There are other cottages and a house on the property but each is private and secluded. The cold stone floors throughout the studio are a bit of a drawback in the colder days and nights and wheelchair access bathroom makes the lower level facilities awkward at times but do not deter from the pleasant overall comfort. A small, discreet TV screening/or a radio would be helpful for those with devices or unable to read.Highly recommended for all travellers. Nga mihinui.
