Welcome to The Lazy Bear Retreat! This amazing 2 bedroom, 2 bath Smoky Mountain cabin rental has so much to offer and is full of everything you will need to have the vacation of a lifetime!

Once you enter The Lazy Bear Retreat, you are immediately greeted by a breathtaking wall of windows that floods the room with natural light and allows you to enjoy the scenic and serene forest setting.

The spacious, open and bright living area features a flat screen TV and is enhanced by a beautiful fireplace.
Just in case you need to do a little work or want to check your email, The Lazy Bear Retreat offers complimentary high speed internet access.
Nearby is the fully equipped kitchen and dining area. The kitchen has all of the appliances and utensils you will need to prepare a delicious meal for your family and friends.

Take a trip upstairs and you'll enter the loft area. You will find the master bedroom offering king size bed. It's the perfect spot to view the outdoors, read a book or to enjoy a space away from everyone else.

Before you pack up the car and head for the mountains, know that when we say mountains, we really mean it!

Downtown Bryson City has an elevation of 1,752 feet, so think of this as a starting point. The majority of our cabins will have a higher elevation than this. This means that our roads- both state and private- will be steeper, narrower, and curvier than you may be use to driving. Also, you should expect to encounter gravel roads. Consider it part of our rural mountain charm!

If bringing or riding motorcycles, please call and ask for motorcycle friendly properties. Great mtn vacation log home

Loved this place, secluded high on mnt. 8 mile winding rd to get to it that is a little wild. Internet was great for almost all of our stay but we were there to enjoy the scenery. Saw lots of deer on property. Pretty centrally located to many attractions.

The property was clean and well maintained. Secluded cabin with lots of trees and fresh mountain air. Could use a few upgrades but overall great property.

Nice cabin feel, good stay

We enjoyed the cabin. Layout was great. The only issue was that the gravel road was super rough right before the driveway. Low sitting cars will bottom out. Enjoyable stay overall! Thanks!

Had to call management company once but they responded quickly and resolved issue. I would say that if you want to completely unplug, this is the place. The WIFI is very poor so you couldn't stream movies or even use cell phone.

Peaceful paradise

Absolutely beautiful secluded in the woods to enjoy the sounds & beauty of nature. Lots of deer to view. Top of driveway is very rough please be cautious Check in was very easy. Make sure you have everything you need. Closest store is dollar general about 20 mins down the mountain or walmart 20 mins up. Did not have any problem or issues & was very pleased with my stay. Thank you

Fun Family Adventure

The house was very nice and met all of our needs. The fire pit was not in a good/safe location as it was difficult to get to and when we did the tank was empty of gas and we could not have a fire down there. The ceiling fan in the living room did not work or we could not figure out how to work it. The twin beds were so low that we had difficulty getting in and out of them so they may not be good for older guests, maybe children. the driveway was a challenge but we were able to get up it, if you drive a car it might prove to be difficult or impossible.

The “stream” was down a steep hill and didn’t even cover your toes. The living room ceiling fan was broken. The washing machine was broken. The bathroom hand soap was empty. There were 2 empty gas tanks left for us. Not even enough to cook on the grill and have a fire (fire pit is gas).

I would definitely rent from Yellow Rose the next time we come up this way. We loved that the cabin was well off the beaten path. It was just like it was listed. Next time we might stay more town central just to do something different. The 24 minute windy drive is nice and pretty though and we were able to see wildlife daily.

Great Spot Away From Everyone

Cannot see the neighbors and saw plenty of wildlife. Would have liked a better internet connection, VERY slow and will cut out with weather. Overall, great place but is a good 20+ minutes away from most anything but for me, that is what I was looking for.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We booked this cabin specifically for the Wi-Fi for my kids. Wi-Fi was extremely slow to nonexistent. TV in the living room is a smart tv and because the Wi-Fi didn't work the tv wouldn't load. TV in the queen room didn't work at all and the tv upstairs was basically only for DVDs. Stove only one eye worked. Tried to cook on the others and both on the left side went up in flames because they were full of grease. Had not been cleaned. Both bathrooms shower heads need to be replaced. Cabin is not really for younger kids, mine were 6/7/9 and were bored, again to lack of Wi-Fi. Had to buy games. Some games there were missing pieces or just to old for the kids to learn to play. Overall we enjoyed but what I stated above needs to be addressed.

Very Clean and Comfortable

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was immaculate and the beds were very comfortable. There are 2 bdrms downstairs and a loft with a king size bed and separate bath upstairs. The road the house is on is insanely curvy and would be fun for a motorcycle. The surrounding towns of Bryson City, Cherokee, and Franklin had good food and shops. Gatlinburg was 1h 15min away and an easy drive. We really enjoyed the NC side of the Smokies. The washer and dryer were out of order, which made us do some sink-washing of clothes. The office didn't respond when we called them and asked for help with the washer. The house was well-supplied, but they gave us 2 trash bags and 2 pods for the dishwasher. Not really enough for a week stay with 4 people, but that was less inconvenient than the broken washer and dryer.

Reviewer Comments: We loved the location and amenities, but only wished we'd been told beforehand that the washer/dryer weren't working and both propane tanks were empty. That meant no outdoor grilling or fire pit, which were two big reasons why we rented this cabin in the first place. An email to management unfortunately produced no reply.

Reviewer Comments: The property description was not accurate regarding the amenities. The agreement stated there would be high speed internet and satellite TV the cabin does not offer either. According to the agreement there is a disclosure for a hot tub, no hot tub seen therefore a call was made to the real estate office where they were provided the location and conformation number and the lady advised YES the location did have a hot tub. The Lazy Bear does not have a hot tub, on day one the firepit was out of gas (after hours) day two once again called the real estate company to advise this information, was informed it would be replaced that day, the tank was never replaced during the stay. An excessive amount of things did not work in the cabin and or was broke per the lady answering at the office they did not need to know this information. The power went out on day 1 there is no information on a power company to call only an emergency number for the real estate company. This was all around a bad experience with customer service and expected amenities.

Reviewer Comments: First night there had to call about no wifi or TV but the next night it was spotty but for days for no cell service. The Netflix wouldn’t change to anything. The upstairs toilet seat was loose so we had to use the down stairs. Not much water pressure and the hot water ran out. The pictures on the website showed a good view but we had absolutely none. It was very clean at least.

We went for a girls weekend and were pleasantly pleased . We would definitely go back

The only that is could see being upgraded would be the internet and dish . We had a few problems with that . Overall we enjoyed ourselves.
