Artist’s Private Recluse - Surfers Paradise

The Artists Retreat, Surfers Paradise has to be one of Chevron Island’s best kept secrets. It was the hideaway of one of Sydney’s most famous artists who shared its Tuscan ambience with many of the rich & famous. Around the corner from the artists retreat are the bohemian & trendy cafes & boutiques. A few minutes walk & you are into the nightlife & shopping of famous Surfers Paradise. It’s totally private with secure parking & beautiful gardens.

This is a beautiful & inspiring cottage with splendid vibes - you will feel like you are in another world. The atmosphere & ambience is so relaxing, even though you are centered in the middle of Surfers Paradise yet quiet and peaceful enough that you can really enjoy your stay.
This place is best suited for families having two king-single beds in one room and other rooms have queen mattresses. Surrounded by art work from some of the most famous Australian artists.

Great location. Walking distance to lovely coffee shops and dining . 15 minute walk to Surfers Paradise. The house is clean , and very spacious. Master bath only has a tub and no shower, although it is quite spacious.

Great location

The location was fantastic and it was wonderful to live in a house vs an apartment. The property owners were very helpful too. It would have been good to have more kitchen bowls, serving plates, beach towels, books and games to have in the house as we were visiting from overseas. We would definitely stay there again.

Family holiday

Lovely property with amazing art the pictures dont do the size of the living areas justice,,open plan with plenty of room for the family .The owners are very helpful and quick to respond to any problems and are easy to communicate with. Very close to all amenities with just a quick walk to the local shops and a leisurely walk to the beach.

Chevron a great location

We had a 2 week stay here, the house is very spacious and close to everything. The only negatives are insufficient hot water and very poor water pressure. Could be a problem with the freezer as our food was thawing out. Apart from that excellent

We were drawn to the the art work and every day was a pleasure as our eyes gazed around every room , The position was perfect easy access to everywhere we planned to visit but also just relaxing days spent at home sunning ourselves in the garden ,The place was quite and peaceful very relaxing and yet the hussel and bussel was just minutes away ,We will remember our time there for many reason

Artist’s Retreat

We stayed at Artist’s Retreat nearly 6 weeks. We adore Tom, Natsui, Gina, and their whole family. We were treated like valued friends, rather than a tenant. There were some minor repairs that were needed during our stay, and Tom was quite prompt in addressing the items we mentioned. The location is charming near Thomas Drive. And the restaurants, chemist, and grocery store are only a short walk away, with staff being exactly the right amount of friendly and helpful. Oh, and if you are there long enough that you need your hair done, go see Karina at Hair Trix and Company. She cut and colored my hair and did an amazing job. Last, there is a super sweet neighborhood cat that visits several times per week. House rules are not to let it inside, which was easy to follow.

Amazing property

Visit to Surfers

This property was exactly as described on the website and suited us down to the ground. It became our home and we were able to entertain our family on a walk in basis. The block of units next door were a overbearing but there were so many public holidays that not much work was done. The location was great for the shops and restaurants on Thomas Drive. Many thanks to Tom and Gina for the use of this lovely home - the art was also very interesting!

Amazing rental

This property is even better than the pictures. It is a beautiful place and the location is perfect. I went there with my mother, husband and 10 month old daughter. Tom and Gina made everything so easy from checkin to checkout. They even brought us a playpen, toys and a highchair because they knew we traveled all the way from Canada with none of that. Would definitely stay there again if we come to the Gold Coast. Amazing 3 weeks spent here.

An artist's retreat in the heart of Paradise

Spacious, breezy, and modern where everyone had a space to pick up a book, magazine, or turn on the TV for some relaxing time alone or all together. The perfect retreat to catch up after more than two years oceans apart throughout the pandemic.

Great holiday stay

We stayed for 7 weeks. Photos are indicative. Large, airy house with comfortable beds, good quality furniture. Fully air conditioned. Secure off street parking. Excellent location within walking distance to theatres, art gallery, shops, beaches, restaurants, tram, night and Sunday markets.
