Perfect as a Falls Creek base camp. Pet friendly.

This is a older style original Mt Beauty house. It’s basic but well located near Snowfields of Falls Creek, Mountain bike and walking tracks are also nearby .

It has comfortable beds with electric blankets, a great location and decent kitchen for cooking after a day outdoors. Mt Beauty is a 42 min drive to falls Creek.

This house is great for people who like to be outdoors all day and come home for a good nights sleep. The house is basic so please don't come here expecting a day spa type holiday.
Mt Beauty has lots of bike trails, hiking and water activities to keep you busy. Close to Big Hill Mountain Bike Park.
The house has recently been re stumped and the garden is being re done. So the outside may look a little strange as the base boards are not on the bottom of the house yet. This is purely visual and is the last part of the process.

Just like staying with Nan and Pop

House was very clean, and tidy and homely. Well within walking distance to everything. Would recommend for any one to stay here. Will stay here again.

Nan & Pop’s Place - Mt Beauty

Great older style house but suited us fine. Warm enough for winter, good beds, satisfactory kitchen & bathroom. Great living area. More room & better facilities than staying on the Mountain. Mt Beauty such a nice place to get away to anytime if the year.

Old style Mt Beauty experience

Wonderful stay at a traditional style Mt Beauty workers cottage. Excellent location less than 5 min walk from shops. Clean and comfy beds and well equipped older style holiday kitchen. Some may find it a bit hot during the day without air con. But Mt Beauty cools down at night. Good fenced yard for our Lab. We would stay here again.

Like stepping back in time

The property is just as described. My husband said it was exactly like his Nan and Pop's home that he visited as a child. We even watched The Castle on VHS! Great location, walking distance to the shops. The home has everything you need for a base lodge to Falls Creek.

Our experience was a disappointing one, the house was not cleaned prior to our stay, the beds were not changed, the house had animals fur all over the carpets, no toilet paper and there were wet towels from the previous visitors still hanging in the bathroom.To the owners credit she was applogetic and gave us a small refund for the inconvenience.I would suggest not staying here with a young family, the bathroom is terrible and the house had more of a run down frat house feel to it.All that said, the location was excellent and the town of Mt Beauty was amazing.

Disappointing stay

The house is very basic, which should be ok, but there was laundry left in the washing machine from a previous tenant and the house was full of cobwebs. We vacuumed the main bedroom, as it was pretty dirty. The fridge was not clean and neither was the toilet. On leaving and closing a window the glass just fell out! Serious maintenance needed. There was very nice linen and plenty of hot water, so I suppose it depend on what your expectations are. The location is great.

Unable to access the property or contact owner

We arrived at the property with instructions that the key would be in the letterbox. The property appeared to be derelict and abandoned. Waist high grass, paint peeling on the house, bent and broken fence. There was no key on the letterbox, just a bunch of final notice letters half eaten by snails. Phone number for owner was “unavailable”. Contacted Stayz, we are still awaiting a refund. Locals have since said that they would never recommend this property to anyone and after this experience, neither will we.

Complaint

Our stay was incredibly disappointing. Despite booking three nights, we only endured two due to the unpleasant conditions. The lack of cleanliness was evident, with no cleaning done since last guests, unmade beds, unchanged bedding, and a lack of hot water at night. Additionally, there were no general bins, and the toilet was blocked. I am writing to formally lodge a complaint and request a full refund for the dreadful experience we endured. I have taken photos as evidence of the unacceptable conditions. Please let me know if you require them.

Ski week

It does not bother us being an older property, but being at the bottom of falls creek, there needed to be another clothes horse and heater to dry wet ski gear. Would have liked instructions for using video and dvd player, unfortunately fridge was not working, but we managed with esky and the freezer of fridge that was working, but these things can fail at any time. Felt it was a little overpriced for what else is around

Great location, close to town, basic facilities in house.

The house is all that is needed for a holiday. It's location is only a 5 minute walk to the centre of town. It is close to the Mountain Bike Park. House itself is as advertised; an old home but with all that is needed for a short stay.

Mt.Beauty Getaway

Enjoyed our stay in this original Mt.Beauty cottage. A minutes walk to town if you need anything and same to the lake or the rivers and hiking trails. Clean and comfortable with everything you need. Hope to be back again.

only just an average stay

we were disappointed with the overall property, there were light sockets with either no lights or broken, the heating was only just able to warm one room (the lounge). The chairs in the lounge were uncomfortable and broken.

This property belonged to My grandparents my mother and her four sisters grew up there. I was born in Mt Beauty and have spent many summers and winters in Mt Beauty, including now with my own 12 year old daughter. I am renting the house out so others can experience the beautiful Alpine area. Close to Mountain Biking and with Rivers to swim in during summer and snow in winter it really is a great place for being outside and relaxing.
