Tangalooma Resort Hilltop Studio Room

Relax on the deck enjoying views over the ocean. (View photos for the exact view) The studio features - lounge, queen bed, bar fridge and microwave.
Sleeps 2 in a queen bed , but you may squeeze children on the spare floor mattresses. 😊


You can walk to the Resort using the steps opposite the house (6 min walk at medium pace) or drive down in your 4WD or use the rental golf buggy available at the resort. Whichever way you go it only takes a few minutes to the beach.
Even though the room has a microwave, kettle and bar fridge, it is set up like a hotel room where you have most of your meals at the multiple resort restaurants and coffee shops.

You have free usage of all resort facilities like pools, tennis, squash and other activities . (Note- Dolphin feeding incurs a fee)

TRANSFER
I recommend booking a $15 taxi transfer so you don’t initially have to carry bags up to your room. It will meet you at jetty.(quote address as 4 Cowry Close)

Excellent stay amazing views but stairs were a killer down to eat and activities back three times a day and but all up it was great we will be returning again 😀

Great place to experience all of what Tangalooma has to offer. Quiet and peaceful being on the hilltop away from the resort crowds. Great place for what we needed. A wonderful stay.

I highly recommend this place. Exactly as advertised. Well presented, great communication with the host. Spacious, clean and honestly the best sunset view you will see. The wine and goodies were a lovely surprise. 10/10

Away from the crowds

My parents thoroughly enjoyed their stay at this studio. The location was perfect for them, offering a peaceful retreat away from the crowds.Communication with Anthony was exceptional. He was incredibly responsive and even checked in to ensure my parents arrived safely.While the view is slightly obstructed by some unexpected construction, it didn't significantly impact their enjoyment. It's clear this was an unforeseen situation that Anthony couldn't have predicted.Overall, we highly recommend this studio for a relaxing getaway

Awesome little getaway

Way more affordable than the hotel and probably nicer. It was nice to have a huge air conned unit all to ourselves and it felt very private. 15 minute walk up from the beach (unless you rent the buggy its a good leg work out but i never minded). Tony was lovely to communicate with and very helpful. Thanks Tony! One tip from me is that if you stay here, don't bother booking in the dolphin feeding experience. Instead, stand on the jetty at 6:30 and get a good spot to watch from above. Way better and less crowded.

Some improvements: towel rails in bathroom, a small table inside, crockery (plates & bowls, only coffee cups provided). Cutlery provided were teaspoons, dessert spoons, forks but no knives. A TV. A step to access the deck from the ground. The bed was very comfortable and the shower excellent, although no shelf to put shampoo etc.

Lovely but noisy

The studio unit was perfect except for one major deterrent...every noise the adjoining residents made was amplified through the wall and adjoining door. When they ran their clothes dryer all night...we got no sleep..this is The one deciding factor that would stop us from coming back to this unit.

Tangalooma island It’s a beautiful picture Holiday resort but has nothing for infants to play with or keep them entertained maybe beach strollers and infants bathing pools with a play ground/room down in the resort area. Our studio apartment was ok but could be better had knives and forks but no plates/bowls for the microwave no complimentary tea bags and a vacuum so we could clean up every day we were there.

Sorry You only gave 2 stars but u are reviewing my room and not the resort. I only provide clean budget accomodation that is approx 1/3 what u will pay if booking through the resort.

It was very disappointing that what was advertised was not what we experienced. It is a very long steep incline up many bush stairs to the top of the hill above the resort, or a 15 taxi ride, booked through the resort that fitted in with their time schedule. The room was one of 4 built in underneath the main house of the host and the other rooms occupied by staff from the island. The staff were quiet and unseen mainly. Our one bedroom with ensuite had a double bed, one cane bedside table with lamp, a bar fridge, no milk, a microwave on top of that and an electric kettle on top of that (unsure how safe this was!).There were no shelves in the bathroom in or out of the shower, so toiletries were on the floor.Our wooden table and seats on the deck was where we sat to enjoy the complimentary bottle of wine, but sadly our view was the back of a newly built "container" house. This totally interrupted our view of the water and sunsets.An adjoining locked door was obviously where the staff used the washing machine/dryer early in the morning or into the evening, which we could easily hear.There was no TV.The advertised free wi-fi was one free day using a password supplied by the resort. After this it was a paid package, or as advised by the host, to use my own data.Not recommended for what we thought would be a relaxing holiday at Moreton Island.

You did book a budget HILLTOP room. There are multiple photos showing exactly what to expect. You have obviously chosen my accommodation as it is appropriately 1/2 what you would pay at through the resort and the only cheap alternative on the island. I suggest u pay more than double next time and opt for a smaller room through the resort. My accommodation offers clean lodgings and ocean views that a family can afford. Not the $500 per night the resort charges.

3rd stay and didn’t disappoint

Another 5 night amazing stay at Anthonys place. Unfortunately not as clean on arrival as when visited previously and can understand other’s comments regarding noise as there is an adjoining door with a laundry behind it, a dryer running and doors are often being shut quite loudly during the morning and evening. (A more solid soundproof door would be perfect) But other than that was another great stay. It’s far cheaper than anything else at the resort and the view/sunset in the evenings is priceless so we were happy to tolerate any small issues. Highly recommend taking a 4wd over as you park right out front, we took a small bbq to use on the grass out front take all your own food etc. It’s quite pricey to take your 4wd on the barge but you make your money back instantly by not having to pay for any of the tours. Thanks once again Anthony will be returning once again soon.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cowry Close. Amazing view and great way to spend a quiet Christmas

A hotel style cabin part of a larger residence. Fantastic view from the front deck. Get a great work out on the steps down to the beach/resort. We utilised the resort and outdoor activity hire, boat hire, fishing gear, snorkeled around wrecks and parasailed. Took snacks with us and ate in restaurants at resort. Fire and Stone Chinese and Vietnamese is a great restaurant. Other restaurants ok. Tony the host was extremely accomodating and helped with an early checkin. We had a great trip and hope to be back. Thanks Tony !!
