Coomalie Studio - Secluded Bushland Getaway

Coomalie is a beautiful 6 acre property situated in a secluded bushland setting a few minutes drive from the township of Healesville in the Yarra Valley. Backing onto State Forest, Coomalie is a haven for native Australian flora and fauna. With the pristine Badger Creek running through the property, you are sure to find relaxation and peace at Coomalie. Coomalie is situated close to many wineries, art galleries, restaurants and cafe's that are popular with locals, national and international visitors. There are two types of accommodation at Coomalie; Coomalie House and Coomalie Studio.

Coomalie Studio offers eco friendly guests an opportunity to get back to nature, enjoy the beautiful landscape in comfort and unplug from the 9-5 daily routine .

The studio sleeps 2 in a double bed; the kitchenette is well appointed and the sitting area enables you to enjoy a winter fire (please note that firewood is not provided so guests will need to supply), or the spectacular bush land view. The bathroom contains a shower, vanity and “Rota Loo” Odourless composting toilet (very environmentally friendly but clean).

Quality linen and towels are provided for your stay. We also provide a good selection of games and books for your entertainment.

Please note there is no TV, no internet or wifi available at Coomalie studio so you may want to bring your laptop or other device if you’d like to watch movies that are already already downloaded. Also mobile phone service is patchy at best with Telstra network offering the best service. It is a bush getaway where you can tune in and disconnect from your everyday experience to listen to the sound of nature and the great outdoors.

Restful nature retreat

It was beautiful to stay in the cabin. It's so close to the national park and close to Healesville and has all you need. We had good phone reception too. Perfect stay, thank you!!

So relaxing

Love the location and the accommodation. Wildlife and a creek at your back door and a fire place to keep you warm and cosy while you watch the rain.

Thankyou for such a beautiful experience. We were looking for a quiet peaceful destination close enough to Melbourne but still felt like you left the hustle behind. A well self contained studio comfy with a fireplace and best screen shot without lifting your phone. Waking up to the sound of birds and kookaburra reminded you were in the middle of nature. Visited by the local kangaroos in the morning and at dusk was a highlight. A beautiful night listening to wood crackling, rain falling on the tin roof the smell if fresh gum trees and the sound of the water rushing down the creek could be heard from the front door. Enjoying a glass of wine conversation and playing uno filled our nights. Thank you for sharing your happy place we look forward to visiting it again 😊♥️

My partner and I wanted to have two secluded days/nights to relax and restore after a very busy year and early Christmas. Drive was only 40min, and due to its location, it felt like we had travelled far out to the bush. There were kangaroos, an adorable wallaby, birdlife including kookaburras. It was during two stinking hot days and the air conditioner worked a treat. The rotaloo composting toilet took a moment to get used to… I kept looking for the flush button. We can’t fault it. No smell at all, even on the hottest of days. The views from the studio were exactly what we needed. Considering how close it is to home, we will definitely be back for when we need to restore ourselves. Thanks for a great stay.

A little slice of heaven

A beautiful studio, lovingly designed and crafted, in a peaceful bush setting. Had all the necessities and was very comfortable and clean. The only thing to be aware of is that not far from the studio there is another large house that is rented out. But they are well separated, so unless the house guests are rowdy, it doesn't have an impact.

Fantastic property. Secluded location but still close to town and local attractions. A great place to unwind. Very comfortable and charming little cottage that is well presented and equipped.

A beautiful bush retreat

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Everything was clean and in good working order. The location is great, close to town but the property being set back away from the street amongst the natural bushland creates a beautiful, calm setting. Heaps of things to do in the area but the cottage is more than comfortable enough to relax all day in. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
