Dog Friendly Snowy Mountains Cottage on Acres

Welcome to Berridale Cottage, a peaceful Snowy Mountains retreat set on over 150 acres of beautiful countryside in Berridale. This dog-friendly property offers three bedrooms, two bathrooms, SpaceX Starlink internet, Netflix, EV charging and sweeping valley views.

• Bedroom 1: King bed with TV, walk-in wardrobe and valley views
• Bedroom 2: Two bunk beds (one single-over-double, one single-over-single)
• Bedroom 3: Double bed with TV and valley views

Built from red cedar and brick, the cottage offers classic country charm with modern comforts. A stunning fireplace anchors the main living area, perfect for relaxing evenings. The fully equipped kitchen features an induction cooktop, dishwasher and microwave convection oven. While there is no traditional oven, the convection microwave provides excellent cooking flexibility. The dining table seats eight, and a highchair is available. A BBQ is located outside for relaxed outdoor meals.

Access to the property is via a dirt road. Exact driveway details will be provided after booking.

An EO Mini electric vehicle charger (Type 2 to Type 2 cable) is available in the garage. Guests requiring a different connection type are asked to bring their own cable.

The property is pet friendly. An enclosed dog area is located next to the house with both sunny and shaded spaces. Dogs of all sizes are welcome. As the entire property is not fenced, consider keeping pets on a lead outside the enclosed area. An extra-large dog bed, food and water bowls are provided. Dogs are welcome inside the cottage but please keep them off the furniture.

A portacot is available on request, with ample space in the main bedroom to set it up. Babies using the portacot are welcome in addition to the eight-person occupancy.

Berridale is centrally located between Cooma and Jindabyne, approximately 35 minutes to each, and around one hour’s drive to Perisher and Thredbo ski resorts. The property itself is expansive and enjoyable to explore, even for novice walkers. There are five dams on the property; in summer, two are suitable for swimming, paddleboarding or kayaking. One two-person kayak is available for guest use.

For property protection, there are five security cameras monitoring exterior areas only.

We enjoyed everything about our stay. The house was lovely & the large property was great for walks. A good base for day trips and it was pet friendly, which was a bonus.

Great place to have a week away from the hustle and bustle. We could bring our dog which made our time even better as he is part of our family. The fire place was very welcome on cool evenings. Overall we loved it.

We loved our stay, thank you for having us! The land and the cottage are so beautiful. We were close enough to everywhere we wanted to go while still feeling like we had a quiet place all to ourselves. Everything was well maintained and we were spoilt for amenities - it was really convenient having all the basic pantry items in the kitchen and not having to bring linen meant we could pack light. The instructions and guest information were helpful and clear, and the hosts were very fast to respond to messages. I'd love to stay again sometime!

Relaxing winter getaway with friends and dogs!

Photos just do not do this place justice! So cozy inside with all amenities for a weekend (or longer) getaway. Hosts were attentive and the guest book has all information you need on the house and local area. Instructions made for a super smooth arrival, road is not sealed but easy to manouvre and goes straight to the house, all 3 cars made it without an issue one being a susuki swift :D Property is nicely tucked away from main highway and still a short drive away from Cooma for supplies or Jindy for snowplay. We didnt end up leaving the house all weekend as there was plenty of firewood to play with and land to explore. So peaceful in the mornings it seemed even the birds were asleep as we caught the sunrise on the outdoor sofa positioned perfectly for morning coffee and view. Outdoor dining furniture positioned well for sunshine in the afternoon we ate lunch outside everday and stars at night by the fire pit, couldn't beat it! Lots of wildlife roaming on the property if you're still and quiet enough ;) Place was spacious and insulated well, beautiful furniture and stone floors.Dogs were in heaven, however be mindful to keep on lead to protect the wildlife and keep them away from the electric fence surrounding front garden area, dog bed and spare dog bowls and leads was a nice touch.Felt at home in this spot it was an absolute dream!!Thanks so much Kristy and Martin we will definitely be back!

STAYZ policies outline that the presence of CCTV must be listed in the information online about the property. No mention of CCTV online or in the welcome information at the property yet there were at least 5 cameras. Made us feel uneasy.

Nice stay in an old mountain cottage

Very generous with kitchen supplies and appliances. Front yard is fully enclosed which is great if you have dogs. A highlight for us was the beautiful view towards the back of the property and the fireplace / plentiful supply of wood. However, the house is quite dirty - all the dining chairs are stained and there is a noticeable smell around the house. One of the bedrooms with the spiral staircase is a hazard - one of us bumped our heads on the exposed metal edge of the step which left a huge red bump and was quite painful. There was also a toothbrush left behind in the shower which made us question the cleanliness of the house …The host did not provide check in details before we arrived so we were left stranded outside the property for an hour with limited phone reception while we tried to contact stayz to get the lockbox code. The host was not responsive during this time given they were overseas. Some prior planning by the host for the time zone difference could have prevented this mishap. The 3km road leading to the driveway of the property is a rough ride especially if you have a 2wd vehicle. We could feel quite a lot of bumps even in our 4wd so you might want to think twice if you have a low vehicle.

Absolute heaven!

We had such an incredible stay, the house and the property were just fabulous and kirsty and martin go above and beyond as property managers the house and property were just fabulous for a family getaway (fur babies included) and in such a great location - we will be back!

Berridale Cottage is a much-loved second home, created as a place to relax, unwind and enjoy everything the Snowy Mountains have to offer. Built from red cedar and brick, the cottage blends traditional country charm with modern comforts, making it welcoming in every season.

We love waking up to the changing light across the valley, spending evenings by the fire, and sharing relaxed meals with family and friends. In winter, it’s a quiet retreat after a day on the slopes, and in summer, a perfect base for exploring hiking and mountain biking trails or simply enjoying the wide-open space and fresh mountain air.

We’ve stocked and maintained the cottage as we would our own home and hope guests feel comfortable, relaxed and at ease during their stay.
