Le Bach is the perfect base to explore Akaroa and its surrounds. This large holiday home sleeps 11 comfortably across 6 generous bedrooms serviced by 4 bathrooms. 2 of the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. The sixth bedroom is a cosy sleepout close to the back of the house. The sleepout does not have its own ensuite but it is very close to the rear bathroom in the house. The house is well equipped with unlimited high speed internet, a smart TV with Netflix and Spotify provided you have an account
Le Bach’s generous size enables large groups to stay in comfort. The property is north facing and gets all days sun. Two heat pumps and a wood burner keeps the whole property warm in the cooler months.
The front deck offers panoramic views of Akaroa Harbour while the sheltered rear deck is equipped with a large BBQ.
Downtown Akaroa is a short 15 minute walk away where you can enjoy shopping or visiting some of the eateries and cafes. The garage is equipped with a kayak and two mountain bikes (helmets included) which guests are free to use. Off street parking is available.

Fabulous weekend

A wonderful reunion of 8 friends was topped off by the fabulous accommodation. We will definitely book this spacious well equipped place again. Excellent communication from the owners who were keen to see we had a great 3 day holiday.

Touch of paradise

House is gorgeous, perfect for a large group of oldies. Akaroa has everything plus. La Baguette has divine croissants etc.

Summer 2025 Fab in Le Bach

Our large extended family with multiple younger children so enjoyed staying at le Bach this summer. So many different spaces in the house for rest, quiet, catching up, having fun, enjoying sun, watching birds, cooking up large... Fantastic place for a large family, with lots of things for kids and families to do together, very nice walks nearby including down to town, and wonderful views.

Nice home with great decks and outdoor space.

Home was great for a group with plenty of bathrooms. Enjoyed a girls trip away but just found it a steepish walk to 5he main street. Was easier to drive down the hill. Good communication from the owner. Would definayely stay at this property again.

Couldn't ask for a better place for a family gathering, accommodated all of an extended family for an event. Very well equipped and comfortable with decks front and back to escape the breeze. Owner Winston very easy to communicate with and very helpful.

Family Getaway from Christchurch

A large house with lots of different rooms, lots of bathrooms, well set up for children, great views. There was a cold snap while we were there, but the log fire works well and 2 heat pumps help. Lovely short walk into the town. Beautiful views. Great communication from hosts.

Great place! Plenty of room for everybody - adults upstairs, kids downstairs. Lots of board games to choose from. Four bathrooms! Short walk to town.

Great Views

The hosts were amazing, super helpful and quick responses. House was lovely with great views and easy to keep warm. Beds are very firm so keep that in mind with bed preference. Could have been a little bit cleaner but was overall a lovely stay

Great place to stay

Le Bach is in a perfect location, easy walk to the beach and shops. The house is lovely, very large, and very well equipped. We used it for a writing retreat and it had everything we needed. We particular appreciated the big dining table to work on. The beds were very comfortable.

Lovely house

This large well appointed house was perfect for our writers retreat weekend. Perfectly situated for a great view (including some wonderful sunsets) and easy walking to town (not so easy walking back up) it was just what we wanted.

Spacious & comfortable

Beautiful view, lots of native bird life, we were a group of five women all had own bedrooms and three with own bathrooms. Property would also be great for a family. Super easy owners to deal with, was clean and tidy.

Wonderful family weekend away

If anything, our expectations were well and truly exceeded. Fantastic location within walking distance of township and amenities - albeit a bit of a hill to hike up. Great views of the harbour, hills and general landscape. Beautiful sunset and sunrises. We celebrated a birthday here with all children and grandchildren. Plenty of room and space in and out of the home. Kitchen and bathroom facilities were excellent. Home was very safe for little people. Good parking. We had such a wonderful weekend away and I would highly recommend this home. We will return.

Lovely views and plenty of space

This was a great place for two families to stay. The views from the deck were amazing. The kitchen was well equipped, and there was plenty of space for us all. The location was great, a bit of hill walking but not too far into town.

Family getaway

We really enjoyed the spacious rooms and the indoor, outdoor flow. There were lots of bathrooms for everyone so no queues. We loved the views and the environment.

Hi We purchased this property in 2018 having been a visitor to the Akaroa district for many years. We love the friendly small town atmosphere that Akaroa offers. The area has something for everyone. We love getting out on the water - fishing diving waterskiing etc. If you are into walking or mountain biking, there are many varied trails close in hand.
