Excellent stay for the Thanksgiving holiday. Kitchen was well stocked, Suzanne was very responsive and the kids love the pool/hot tub (as did we!). Plenty of space, and great location to get out to various activities. We would definitely rent again!

Great Family Graduation Home

The property was incredible. The pictures don't capture all of the incredible space. We hosted our family & friends for our daughter's graduation from SDSU and had an amazing time. Lots of room, fantastic kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms. Had the pool and spa heated which was wonderful to enjoy at the end of each day. This is a great place to stay and will return again !! Thank you!

Fantastic Getaway for our family

We had an incredible stay at this home. The location is perfect for access to beaches, restaurants, coffee shops and attractions. The swimming pool is better than it looks in the pictures and was a wonderful gathering spot for our family. We really enjoyed the outdoor eating area with the umbrella for additional shade. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean and had plenty of space for our belongings. The kitchen area had a very large island that worked great for our in home buffet style meals and the “chef” we hired for my wife’s birthday. Finally, the host did a very good job of communicating with us during our stay and answered questions promptly. Highly recommend if you have a large group looking for a beautiful home in the Pacific Beach/La Jolla area. Thank you!

Beautiful home, great accommodation

We had 12 people in our group. This property accommodated all our needs. Beds were comfortable, rooms clean and well organized. Very nice neighborhood. Location was great most attractions within 15 to 30 minutes, beach, Zoo, Old Town, Sea World, etc. Property owner very accessible and helpful with questions concerning the property.

Amazing Home & Neighborhood

This charming house was worth every penny. We had a wonderful stay with family/friends and the home was able to accommodate our party of 10 easily. Very clean and the host welcomed us with a nice gift basket. The kids enjoyed the heated pool and spa! The neighborhood is very safe and close to the beach, shopping and all things San Diego. Our host, Suzanne, was available and communicated with us from start to finish. We’ll be coming back as guests soon!

Great House & Location

Suzanne's house was great! The place had plenty of room for our 12 guests to relax, enjoy the pool or watch TV without all being on top of each other. All the bedrooms were great size and the beds were very comfy. The little touches that Suzanne has put into her property has really made everything this house has to offer a perfect place for a girls weekend. Thank you!

Fantastic stay in a beautiful home

Truly one of my best VRBO stays yet. The location was excellent (short drive to PB, and easy to get pretty much anywhere in SD). The home is awesome with so many amenities (full stocked kitchen, toiletries, embroidered towels & robes, pool & beach equipment...the list goes on). And the room setup worked out well for our group of 5. Cameras in the backyard was definitely weird, wish there was an option to opt out as we already signed a waiver, but those were fully disclosed so not a surprise or anything there. All in all a great stay!

Wonderful luxurious and super comfortable house!

We had an amazing stay at this awesome house! The spa and pool was perfect, clean and the perfect temp. The house was very clean and the beds were excellent, no lumps and sheets were very comfy. The kitchen was super stocked, making cooking at home for 8 easy. Especially appreciated the outdoor kitchen area, complete with a faucet and mini fridge! Suzanne was incredibly welcoming, especially surprising us with a bottle of bubbly and snacks for the kids! The Spa app was easy to setup and worked great. Location was perfect for us as its close to everything we wanted to do in San Diego. Highly recommend for a luxurious and convenient getaway!

Loved it!!

This house is top notch! Very comfortable beds. Lots of room. Most stocked kitchen ever! Pool and spa were great! Towels galore! Great showers and bath supplies. Nice appliances, dishes and glassware. Classy! Everything you could want. Alarms on doors going to the pool were a nice safety feature with the little ones. We loved it for 10 of us. No access to washer and dryer though.

Great property

House was very well appointed. Beds were firm and the linens were great. We all loved loved the pool and spa area. House has plenty of gear (chairs, umbrella, etc) for beach visits. Would have been nice to have a heads up on the cat that lives in the closed off room. Hearing the cat cry for food at night was startling at first. My wife and kids actually love cats, so it was actually a nice surprise for them. All in all, we had an absolutely wonderful time and would love to come back to visit again in the future.

Memorial Day Family Getaway

Our entire family enjoyed our stay at La Jolla Palms! The house lay out was fantastic for an extended family retreat ranging from toddlers to elderly members. Relaxing sitting areas inside and a welcoming front and backyard. As coffee and tea consumers the house was well stocked! The kitchen had everything you need for cook outs. The location is great for a easy drive to Sea World/Mission Bay or La Jolla/Torrey Pines. Suzanne was a great host and very communicative from check in to check out! She even kindly checked in with us during our stay just to make sure everything was up to par - which it was! I did have an app issue with the jacuzzi but simply texted Suzanne and she turned it on/off from her end. Super easy. Overall our family had a nice and relaxing weekend. I highly recommend the place. Better than a hotel (which we usually enjoy Aviara but now prefer La Jolla Palms!) I can’t wait to come back during our next visit back to San Diego.

* Property was indeed nice and clean, but it was also quite expensive * Property manager communicated well generally—was prompt and provided the answers we needed, except for one instance * Note—no access to washer/dryer * Spa was impressive—it heated up very quickly * Strangely, there are no doors to some of the showers. Maybe that is a plus to some people. * Possibly cat allergens on site—two from our party reported allergies following their stay, and one found what appeared to be cat toys under a bed. We could be wrong—would check with manager if you are allergic * We promptly received a note to turn music off at 10:03 PM (quiet hours begin 10 PM according to signage on site). The reason provided was that a neighbor complained about the noise we were making. Given that we kept the music so low that we could barely hear it ourselves, this seemed unlikely. * Would be nice to label drawers—difficult to find what we needed

Jeremy's review reflects his disgruntlement. Jeremy had planned to invite a large group of friends over to party. An additional 8 guests on top of the 10 already staying. The loud and offensive music started late on Saturday, the neighbor complained and I respectfully asked him to honor the quiet time. Therer is no sign saying "No access to Washer / Dryer. There is a washer /Dryer in the garage. Jeremy did not communicate any issues or allergies infact Jeremy said the property was amazing and beautiful and they were were having an awesome time. Obviously he chose to nit pick and make up reasons to write a poor 3 * review, which does not reflect the sentiments of previous guests.

Perfect in Every Way!

My family and I stayed at this house a couple of weeks ago and were so happy with just everything this house had to offer. The kitchen was beyond stocked with every single cooking utensil and servingware that you could ever imagine. There were wonderful spices, high end teas and coffee, and not to mention a beautiful Breville espresso maker. I have stayed at many VRBOs’s and this is by far the most stocked kitchen I have ever experienced. All of the bedrooms were fabulous, including the most luxurious sheets. The other thing that I have to mention is that all of the wonderful hair care, products, and perfumes that are stocked in each bedroom and bathroom. The house itself was so well thought out with the master bedroom being very far removed from all the other bedrooms. It’s literally like you have your own private wing. The outside area is absolutely perfect for a family or entertaining. In the front and back of the house is beautifully landscaped with lemon trees, fresh rosemary, Kale and all sorts of beautiful Flora. Our grandchildren absolutely left the pool and hot tub. There is even a pack and play and toys for children to play with which was very thoughtful . The location was also beyond perfect. Your 10 minutes from the main town of La Jolla. More importantly, is the host, Suzanne, who was so incredibly gracious and responsive. We highly recommend this house recommend this house. Stop reading this and just go.

Not happy

The house itself was extremely beautiful. And the location was great for where we wanted to go. However, there was numerous fly/bug traps around the property which gave the outdoor area (front and back) a very pungent smell. The house is located on a very busy main road which can definitely be heard easily when inside the house and did unfortunately keep me and my friends awake at night. Speaking to the owner was great at first. However, once we got into the house, her responses began to become very slow and we did have difficulty communicating. She wanted me to sign a house waiver for multiple different things to include a separate waiver to have the pool and spa heated. She required we pay $450.00 to have the pool and spa heated throughout the day for the 3 night stay we were there. She sent me instructions on how to download an app, and then provided me vague instructions on how to actually heat the pool and spa. Once I downloaded the app, it asked me numerous questions to which I didn’t know the answer. I texted her and asked which she provided no response. She messaged me one day on the trip to advise me her neighbors reported “loud voices”. She informed me of their “quiet time hours”. However, the same neighbors violated these said rules by mowing their lawn during the listed quiet time hours which awakened all of my guests at 7am and they were not able to relax and sleep in. Overall, the house was ok. But not worth all of the issues dealing with the homeowner.

Karas group were difficult and not easy to host, broke many house rules, was very argumentative and picky. I was always communicative. We understand speaking with two of the guests that left late there was a major fallout with the group. I would not recommend Kara as a guest to other hosts.

Executive Retreat - Was a great home to use

This was a beautiful home with plenty of space for a 5 person retreat. The host was responsive and even left us a nice welcome gift. Highly recommend.

Beautiful Home

Suzanne’s was a beautiful home. She is 8 hours ahead so we had some difficulty communicating and missed the chance to use the pool or hot tub, which was a shame, but the house is lovely.

Kathrynne did not pay to have the pool & Spa heated, in spite of several reminders. I did not hear from Kathrynne for more than 24 hours after early checkin. I had reached out 3 times to ensure everything was as expected. It was strange not to hear from a guest. On Saturday evening I received a text from an unknown number requesting access to the pool & spa. I was in UK, at the time and I was 8 hours ahead. I did respond late on Saturday. The fee for the heating was not paid in spite of several reminders. Usually we take care of this before checkin. I assumed that Kathrynne did not wish to utilize this facility, the fact that I didnt hear from her for more than 24 hours after checkin confirmed this to me. I was sorry for the disappointment, but the communication and request was lacking. Kathrynne assured me that this had not affected their enjoyment. Clearly a 4* rating indicates different.
