Making the most of the outlook is the generous open plan living and raised dining area as you have multiple doors connecting you to the garden. Situated just off the entry hall, the soaring timber-lined ceiling and flooring combine with a grey palette to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Further up the hallway is the separate traditional country-style kitchen which enjoys direct access to the paved courtyard. This laid-back space offers seating and features the original 160-year-old timber flooring and benchtops, open shelving and striking blue cabinetry.
Two bedrooms and a bathroom are situated on the other side of the hallway. Sweet dreams await in the first bedroom where you’ll find a queen bed, dark walls, a soaring white detailed ceiling, timber flooring and French doors. Sitting between bedroom one and two is a rustic bathroom with a shower bath combination. The spacious children's bedroom is set up with two king-single beds, one with a trundle bed.
Beyond a large timber barn door is a separate wing of the house. Timber flooring continues in the second bathroom while a stunning brick fireplace is a focal point in the third bedroom with double bed. A separate comfortable living room is the perfect escape for - or from - the kids. Doors open to the courtyard so families can enjoy that indoor-outdoor lifestyle. And a fourth well-proportioned queen bedroom sits off this space with an ensuite bathroom, and also opens to the courtyard.
The Area
The Secret Garden is perfectly positioned only a few kilometres from the Melbourne CBD and steps away from Barkly Gardens, trams to the city and the fabulous restaurants, bars and shops of Swan St. and Church St. The Yarra River sits at the end of the street, so it’s around a ten-minute walk to link up with the main walking trails. Within a 30-minute walk or 15-minute tram ride you’ll reach the MCG and the numerous offerings within Melbourne’s sport precinct. From here you’re within easy reach of the Royal Botanic Gardens, the art precinct and the bustling CBD.
