Overall Quality of the House Didn't Meet the Price We Paid
We appreciated the large size of the property and the location. Unfortunately, first impressions are extremely important. The entry into the home was through the garage. It didn't greet us with the atmosphere of the high price per night we paid. Let's just say it wasn't vacation-like...including the fact that the floor drain was backed up and there was a bit of standing dirty water. There was a screened gazebo that looked inviting until we noticed one of the screens covered with what looked like spider webs . The inside stair rail wasn't very sturdy and the spindles are far apart enough that a child could fall through. It was a little difficult to find wood for the firepit. There were some logs that must have been from trees on the property. Someone noticed poison ivy on the property. Burning logs that have had contact with poison ivy can be dangerous to anyone breathing the smoke. The POOL- walking into the pool room it looked like the picture - YAY! It was advertised as a heated pool - but the heater wasn't working. When we contacted someone, they were responsive and understanding. However, the bottom line is- it couldn't be repaired in time for any of us to swim . Not one of the six adults and one child swam in the pool because the pool temperature was too chilly. If the we could have used the pool, we could have overlooked most of the issues and would not have asked for a refund. The refund we requested was due simply for the fact that we rented the home for the indoor heated pool and we couldn't swim at the temperature we were promised. The refund we did receive did not reflect the fact that what we did get was simply a four bedroom house.
