The Pirate's Rest is a beautifully designed tiny bach, just a 100m stroll from the stunning Pauanui beach. Enjoy sea views to the Alderman Islands from inside or while relaxing at your personal slab bar on the wraparound deck.

This bach features an open-plan living area, one bedroom, and a bunk pod, making it perfect for couples or a small family (2 adults and 2 children) looking to experience unique off-grid living. You're also within walking distance of playgrounds, a boat ramp, a supermarket, and local restaurants.

Pirate's Rest was the perfect location for a 2-day boys' trip for me and my 7 year old. Super close to the beach, friendly surroundings, and a really simple and easy layout to the tiny home. Would highly recommend.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Pirates Rest. The place was beautifully clean from the moment we walked in, and the communication throughout was amazing - clear, friendly, and incredibly helpful.A tiny house; wow, what a surprise. Despite its size, it felt incredibly spacious because every detail had been so thoughtfully designed. You can tell a lot of care has gone into making the space both comfortable for the 3 of us and really functional.The location couldn’t be better. Easy access to the beach made it perfect for morning walks and sunset strolls, and the whole area had such a relaxed, welcoming vibe.We couldn’t have asked for a better getaway and would happily stay again.

Excellent location and property. Had a great stay in a perfect spot close to the beach. Loved it. Had Japanese guests who were amazed. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Awesome accommodation!

We loved the Pirates Rest! The detail and craftsmanship that has gone into the tiny house is awesome. Great location. Our kids loved the bunks! Highly recommend. Lovely comfortable accommodation.

Very comfortable and a perfect location

Got to know the house well given all the rain. It had everything anyone could need, and the location with respect to the beach and the grocery store was wonderful. A unique place to stay. Highly recommended!

Perfect little spot

Our family in law stayed here, and they loved it. Private own little space away from the rest of the house. The bathroom, bed room and cute little kitchen meant they had their own little set up. They couldn’t stop talking about how much they enjoyed there stay here .

Steps from the beach

Super cute place. Felt big after two weeks traveling in a van around South Island. The location is great. Just the second row of houses from the beach and a short walk to Pauanui's center of commerce (grocery story, bakery, 3 restaurants, second hand shop, post office...)

Nice little house to stay and happy it was pet friendly. Only bad point was it was listed to have a hot tub which was not any where to be seen Sent text to the property manager and had no response

Cosy home in great location

We loved our stay in The Pirate's Rest. Proximity to the beach is excellent, and we enjoyed having the park pathway right in front. Our dog's tail didn't stop wagging the whole time - she was very reluctant to leave. Thanks for the attention to all the details as well - you had everything covered. With the fire, it was cosy even during the winter rains, so a great place to enjoy any time of the year.

A little bit a luxury

I've walked past this little bach many times over the years and admired it, but staying in it was so much better than expected. The comfort, the proximity to the beach, the views and the outdoor shower with a proper door you close and hot water, was Heavenly. The bar straight off the kitchen totally enhances this bach experience we loved it. My teenage daughter loved the bunk cubby. We'll be back for sure.

Fab tiny house!

We loved the house, and thought there was tonnes of room for a “tiny house”! The location is absolutely brilliant, all the facilities in great working order. The only challenge we found was the pots for cooking - we needed more than two! The house was cozy and homely in some pretty atrocious weather so we were glad to be inside!

A well thought out property with everything you need to enjoy a relaxing stay. Perfect for couples. Thoroughly enjoyed being in this space and appreciated the creativity to bring this amazing tiny home to fruition. Totally recommend!

Great hosts, great location, fab tiny house

Emma and Scott were lovely hosts, house was immaculate with kitchen perfect for our self service plans. Just a couple of steps to beach. Everything we needed and more for a fantastic stay. Recommend.
