Thornton Palms is a beautiful, spacious property with stunning vistas across our tropical landscape. This 4 bedrooms, 4 bathroom villa offers everything you will need including free WIFI, NETFLIX, secure parking and optional Pool Heating.
A perfect place to stay for those wanting to explore the Great Barrier Reef & Daintree Rainforest and our beautiful town, Port Douglas.
Awake to a glorious mountain view across the golf course and enjoy breakfast upstairs to the sound of tropical parrots. Walk a few minutes to the golden sands of 4 mile beach or take a short drive or local shuttle into town to enjoy our restaurants and shops.
Do some shopping or lay by the pool catching up on a holiday novel whilst deciding whether to dine in town tonight or maybe at one of the restaurants or bistros within walking distance.
Should you choose to stay in for dinner, cooking in this fully equipped kitchen will be easy or for something more casual, try the BBQ next to the outdoor dining area.
The tropics come alive at night with sounds of frogs and birds from the nearby golf course. A brilliant Cafe, St Crispin's is a short 1 min walk out of the front gate and serves excellent breakfast, lunch and coffee. This cafe is also the station for Bally Hooley cane train that runs 4 times a day into town. Great for the kids!
THE VILLA:
Located within the stunning Thornton West gated estate, surrounded by lush tropical gardens this villa exhales a stylish, inviting ambiance.
Access is gained through a secure port-a-co leading into your private court yard surrounded by tropical gardens. The main house combines two levels. Ground level is for living and relaxing... bi-fold doors lead onto the outdoor dining patio and a separate courtyard.
A spacious living and dining area includes a sophisticated kitchen, fully equipped for all your requirements.
In front of the outdoor patio is a lovely grassed garden leading to the pool where an inviting cabana offers a lounge setting and sun lounges.
Upstairs, 3 bedrooms all with their own bathrooms are spacious and private. Each bedroom has its own flat screen television and all, are beautifully decorated.
The fourth bedroom is separate to the main house... within its own pavilion, a few steps from the front door. It also includes its own bathroom, television and small courtyard. (Perfect for the nanny / grandparents or teens)
Gardens surround the outdoor living space, framing the stunning golf course and mountain views.
Children are well provided for with Port-a-cot, stair gate, high chair offered free of charge and a selection of DVD's and board games to keep them amused.

We are parents to 3 beautiful daughters. We visited Thornton Palms for our family holiday. We fell in love with Port Douglas and in particular Thornton Palms. We are an active family that enjoy getting out and about but equally enjoy the finer things of life and relaxing poolside with a good book and a cocktail or 2.
Por qué escogió este alojamiento
There were so many things that you will love about Thornton Palms including the relaxed, easy living lay out and space of the house including separate accommodation for the in-laws or teenage kids.
The beautiful tropical garden and pool which backs onto the stunning Sheraton Mirage golf course embraced by the magnificent royal palms standing gloriously in the garden.
We also love that 4 Mile Beach is only a 5 minute walk away…it gives you a real sense of living in paradise whilst still in Australia….a great beach for runs too.
It is easy to get into town from our home either walking, catching the local shuttle bus or ordering an Uber. There you can enjoy all the fabulous restaurants and bars. Port Douglas has to offer from 5 star to something more relaxed and affordable. If you are looking for something even closer to home though, St Crispin’s café is a couple of minutes’ walk away and with a beautiful aspect on the river offers great coffee and food and the owners are always so welcoming.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial
It is where the rainforest meets the ocean and where a magical paradise is created. We loved that there was just so much to do and for all ages and abilities From floating down the Mossman Gorge on inflatables, swimming with turtles on the reef, a day fishing in the Daintree, golfing on a 5-star course, indulging in a long lunch at one of the fabulous restaurants or simply relaxing poolside with a great book there really is so much to choose from to keep yourself entertained.
