An updated cottage with great views of the lake from the very large deck. Comfortable, clean and in a quiet location but only a short drive to shopping, etc. The host, Michael, is amiable and very quick to respond to any questions. There is a small beach with shallow water for supervised children. We enjoyed our stay!

Best Cottage vacation

Thank you immensely for hosting us. Our stay at Modern Muskoka Retreat was an absolute delight, and we cherished every moment. We stayed for 2 days and had excellent relaxing moment. Very cozy and beautiful views .New construction all appliances worked well . The toilet and shower were clean and newly constructed. The rooms are very clean and the beds extremely comfortable. Very relaxing stay my family loved the lakefront. Owner was nice and provided us right instructions . Kayaks and SUPS and other paddle things was free to use. Will visit this wonderful resort again.

Weekend get away

Great Cottage on a Great Lake

This place is perfect. It's on a lake that allows you to boat into Gravenhurst, but it is not so big that it is busy or windy. We did a lot of water skiing and jet skiing, and it was perfect for that. The pictures of the place don't do it justice. It is a beautifully renovated cottage wtih all the amenities.

Family Getaway July 2022

We had an excellent stay at Michael’s property. Beautiful quiet part of the lake, easy dive off the dock, fire pit for the evenings, BBQ for cooking. Enjoyed the spacious patio all day and the house is nicely renovated with all conveniences, nice showers, laundry, and well-equipped kitchen. Michael was responsive to questions and helpful before and during our stay. No problems at all and would definitely stay again 👍🏻.

Great little place with lots of privacy.

This place has EVERYTHING you need in a home away from home, including the best coffee machine I've ever seen. We were only here 2 nights but wish it could have been longer...we had such a great time. You can swim and fish right off the dock and the water was beautiful! Michael was an awesome host and incredibly responsive to any questions we had. And the town is only 7 minutes away, where you can basically get anything you need. I would definitely recommend this place and definitely stay here again. Thank you!!!

Nice stay

Michael responds very quickly and is helpful. The property is very nice and very well located to many things. The lake is clear and access is easy through the dock or the sandy beach. A little muddy to get to the sand part but very short so no big deal. There are 3 bedrooms in main building the 4 the bedroom is in the second building, all are air conditioned. The football table was a hit. The hose outside was very helpful for washing our dog. Overall a good stay.

Beautiful spot on peaceful lake

Enjoyed our vacation stay and the convenience to town. House cleaning prior to arrival was a bit lacking, and the house has a problem with chipmunks inside. Saw and heard them in the night. Under the bed, and in the walls. Found food left in cabinets that had been chewed on. Other than that, we had everything we needed, and had a great time. We loved quiet mornings paddle boarding on the lake.

Spent a weekend away with friends . Great time everything was as seen on website . Internet was not consistent but we were fine without it . Weather was great so used the kayaks. Water access was amazing and if you have a boat the launch is just three cottages down . Can hear the highway by the water but inside was fine . We went Oct so not a lot of traffic from other cottages . Would have been nice to have the fireplace to take the dampness out of cottage as the Themos is set for 20°C so we were a little chilled in the evening . It was fine once stove was on and warmed it up so we didnt bother Michael about it . Sure he would have turned it up for us as he was very accommodating when we asked for early in , later out . Definitely recommend for a weekend away .

Two stars overall because the lake is lovely and warm enough to swim comfortably. However it is close to the highway and you hear cars all the time. The front door lock is tricky, instructions for entering the house were not clear in the app.The place was filthy. Floors were dirty, fridge and cupboards were full of expired food and half empty condiments which we needed to dispose of. We also needed to clean up all the spills and food remnants in the cupboards before we could put our items in. Glassware/cooking pan situation is lacking. Had to go out and buy wine glasses. The blinds and ceiling fans were covered in a thick layer of dust. Sheets seemed clean but most were torn. We were only given a fitted and flat sheet on each bed, no blankets. We had to go to Walmart and purchase four comforters so that we could sleep comfortably. The bunkie is a sectioned off room in a dirty, cluttered garage that didn’t have working power. The only way to turn power to the room on and off was to use the junction box in the garage. There is no way that room is legally permitted. There was dirty underwear and a shirt hanging in the master bathroom when we arrived so I am fairly certain the bathrooms were not cleaned. There were multiple bottles of leftover soap and shampoo in both of the showers that we had to move.Nights were cool, not having AC was ok, first night was warm and it was uncomfortably hot.Wifi is dial-up speed and we had minimal cell signal. Would not book again.

Amazing property right outside Gravenhurst

The property is amazing with all new amenities. We were group of 6 and just had an amazing time by the water and at the deck. Its quite ideally located from the town as well as driving into Algonquin. Michael was really amazing and a fine host.

Waterside cottage+

We enjoyed the views from the enclosed dining area on rainy days and off the deck on sunny days. My family & our dog enjoyed the dock access to the waters, and the kayaks and paddle board available on-site. However, wifi was unstable and not fast enough if you are trying to work from the cottage. Generally, the location was convenient off hwy 11, but it takes patience (and courage) when crossing both ways of traffic to travel to & from downtown Gravenhurst from the property—not for the faint of hearts! Overall, we enjoyed this cottage and would recommend to a small family/groups. Donna

Lovely Cottage

Beautiful View

This is a beautiful spot! The dock is a great place to relax. Nice views of the water from the cottage as well. Pictures don’t do it justice. Communication with the host was excellent. Boat dock right near by. A really amazing spot! A few more comfortable chairs would have been awesome! A couple of things: • a very small sandy beach area, a little mucky, if you are wanting kids to have a sandy area to play in. •There are cameras on the property. We have never experienced that before. These were clearly on as we were asked at one point to move some chairs inside. Just if you are looking for more privacy! •the two queen beds are more double size, our queen sheets did not fit the beds. •more cloth storage would be great too, only one closet and one dresser for 7 people, for a week.

Beautiful lakefront cottage!

This property is amazing! It’s so close to Gravenhurst, so you have everything at your disposal! The property manager was always ready to answer my questions. Lake Gull was beautiful and we loved being right on the water. The views are breathtaking. We also enjoyed the kayaks and paddle board. The sand water entry is small but it worked for my kids. They would have preferred more sand to play with though. Some of the kitchen utensils need to be updated but everything else was absolutely perfect and clean. Thank you again Michael for making our stay extra special!

Great long weekend stay!

This is a beautiful property! Everything you need is provided. The lake is very nice to swim in and the kayaks provided were amazing. It was a great place to stay for the long weekend and would highly recommend. The host responded very fast and let you know everything you need for your trip!

Great cottage on Gull lake.

We had a great week at this newly remodelled cottage on Gull Lake. We were able to launch our boat just up the street and have it with us for the kids to tube and for the family to take a ride out to explore and enjoy the sunsets. My only suggestion would be to add a ceiling fan in the screened porch for those really hot days. Other than that, the place met all our needs. We would recommend this cottage for anyone looking for some family time on beautiful Gull lake. We were also able to bring our dogs, which was great! Thank you, Michael, for your prompt responses and allowing us to enjoy your property.

Family getaway!

We had a lovely week here, 2 sets of grandparents, our son & his wife and their 9-month old daughter. Cottage was nicely renovated, bright and clean, with large windows overlooking the lake. Bedrooms have ceiling fans to keep the rooms cool on warm nights. Kitchen is well equipped with supplies. We definitely enjoyed the use of the kayaks and paddle board, great dock to jump into the lake as well as the the little sandy area to wade into the water. Michael was helpful and answered all our questions.
