This gorgeous property is truly amazing. Situated on a 2 acre property, with a heated pool, heated spa and plenty of space inside and out for you all to spread out. Its like having your own private resort; you won't want to leave!
The Ocean Retreat is sheltered behind the sand dunes, in 2 acres of private ground.
The National Park backs on to the boundary and you can hear the ocean in the background. A footpath to the back beaches of the stunning Mornington Peninsula can be found at right next to the gate. Its just a short stroll across the dunes and you're at the ocean! The property has a country feel in an urban setting.
We are lucky enough to share our space with large amounts of wildlife in and around the property. You may be able to see Swallows nesting, wallabies hopping through the bush/dunes early in the morning or evening and often, possums running along the fence lines at dusk. We welcome you and your pets, but it is a condition of hiring the property, that none of the wildlife or any nest sites are interfered with in any way.
We are passionate about being kind and respectful to our wildlife and reducing our impact on the environment and local ecosystem. As part of this, we avoid using toxic chemicals of any kind including insect sprays.
About the property:
This magnificent six-bedroom property has outstanding entertaining both inside and out.
Inside the property you'll find you're spoiled for choice for living areas. There are 4 of them!
On the ground floor level, there is a home theatre with a 77" smart TV, great for a rumpus room for kids
Upstairs, the main room is bathed in sunlight from the floor to ceiling windows with a fabulous double sided open fireplace separating the dining area from the seating area. The open plan dining area has a table for 10. Additional seating is available at the breakfast bar/kitchen island.
The fourth area is a casual family room with comfy modular sofa, and a large smart TV that is Netflix compatible.
Look out to the deck from the sofa, through the glass window wall, which tilts up to allow indoor - outdoor living with access to the huge decked courtyard. This outdoor area is complete with heated pool for year round enjoyment, heated outdoor spa, cabana, outdoor shower, outdoor fireplace Large BBQ with range hood and an outdoor kitchen in which to prepare your alfresco feasts. This outdoor kitchen doubles as the laundry and houses the washer and dryer. It also houses a second fridge-freezer and second dishwasher.
Inside the house, the gourmet granite kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, including a high quality coffee machine that uses whole beans, a large pantry, side by side double door Smeg fridge/freezer and a magnificent double oven with 6 burner stove top.
6 bedrooms offer privacy and flexibility for your sleeping arrangements. There are enough beds for 16 people. A single and double blow up mattress are also available for groups that prefer their own beds - please note we do not supply sheets and pillow cases for the blow ups and cannot guarantee that they will be in working order during your stay. They are not part of the rental, and its a bonus if they are working!
Upstairs, is the luxurious master suite. There is a King bed in the bedroom area. From the bedroom, walk through the large walk-in robes to the sumptuous ensuite bathroom beyond. Easily the biggest bathroom in the property, this ensuite includes an stunning egg bath, walk through double shower, toilet and vanity. The porta cot can comfortably be accommodated in the walk through robes.
Bedroom 2 looks over the pool area and has a queen bed, and built in robes.
Bedroom 3 has a queen bed, fold out single chair bed as well as walk in robes.
There is a large family bathroom and separate toilet on this level between bedroom 2 and 3. The bathroom has a spa bath, separate shower and vanity.
There are 3 further bedrooms and another bathroom, which has a shower and vanity, and a separate toilet on the ground floor level:
Bedroom 4 has a single set of bunks, a single trundle bed and built in robes.
Bedroom 5 has 2 sets of bunks and built in robes
Bedroom 6 has a queen bed and built in robes.
Top bunks are not rated for adults and only suited for people 60kg or under.
A double and a single air mattress are also available for groups who prefer separate beds.
A travel cot and high chair are at the property for guest use.
There is ducted heating throughout the house and 5 wall mounted Daikon split system AC units in the upstairs area plus 2 split system air conditioners downstairs.
Totalling more than 50 squares including decks and balconies, there is a huge driveway and entrance which is fully fenced with plenty of on site parking - enough for 10-12 cars!
This stunning property really is the perfect getaway.
It's also ideal for executive retreats, large family gatherings, is great for kids and pet friendly too.
Quiet respectful friendship groups over the age of 25 are welcome.
The property is not suitable for end of year school celebrations, young or noisy groups.
Smoking is prohibited both inside and outside the property. Evidence of smoking on site may incur additional charges
While we have not had any issues with our lovely guests, we are required to make you aware of some local rules that apply to all short term rentals on the Mornington Peninsula, these include:
- No parties, gatherings or events.
- No loud or aggressive behaviour.
- Guests must only park onsite.
- Outdoor areas cannot be used between 11pm and 7am
- Neighbours have the right to call the property manager if they feel any of the rules are being broken or guests behaviour is impacting them, to which the property manager must respond immediately.
- Failure to comply with the local shire rules will result in termination of the rental agreement and guests will be required to leave immediately.
