We had a brilliant family time. Best part was that we could bring our 2 dogs and they were happy exploring the fenced grounds.

Perfect

The Black Box was a perfect stopping point on our tour of the South Island. Clean, comfortable, and conveniently located, it was a perfect two day stop for us to visit the Mount Cook glacier, enjoy the Twizel area, and just relax. The home was exactly as you see it online. Great place.

Stunning views and plenty of space

A beautiful property that has everything you need. We are extremely grateful for being allowed to take pets, so anyone renting this place please respect that, we don’t want to lose these places. Magnificent views to the alps, stunning sunsets, brilliant layout if you have extra guests. Love this place, would definitely stay again.

The black box was a great house for our family Xmas stay. The bunk room is only any good for children sleeping as too hard for most adults and there is not much soundproofing from room to room but nice place with excellent outdoor area. Great parking. Fantastic lawn area for playing games.

Fantastic Location for Rowing

Awesome property and location and Amy, the property manager, was fantastic to deal with. a couple of small work-ons - the shower head in the Master ensuite is held together with tape and is unusable and a number of the glasses and plates are chipped and cracked.

Everything was great except a few handles and knobs missing here and there and the bottom leg of one of the bunks was cracked/broken which made the bunk unstable so noone could sleep on the top. Could do with having a proper coffee table and couches not quite so wide and low. I couldn't sit in them because bad for back and all the others found the couches awkward to sit in too. All else good and great for charging ebikes.

Making Memories with family

This was our first VRBO on the south island with 7 family members from the U.S. and one friend from the north island in New Zealand. Kitchen was well stocked with what we needed to prepare our meals. It would have been nice if the master bath had had another entrance so we didn't have to go through the bedroom to get to it. That was awkward. Another suggestion would be to add some small side tables in the family room so there is room to set a coffee cup. Bean bags were nice and got used a lot!
