Beautiful Waterfront Cottage on Golden Lake

Great exposure on this waterfront lot, with shallow entry and sand bottom. You can spend your days on the dock or on a SUP or kayak. You can also fish or explore the surrounding nature trails. Nice quiet bay on Golden Lake.

Golden Lake is known for being quite shallow in areas. Some islands you can walk out to!

The entry in front of this cottage is shallow with a sandy/soft bottom. This is not a cottage you can cannon ball off the dock. Swim shoes may be required. Great for kids or people learning how to kayak or SUP or just float the day away. You can walk out almost to the island but it does drop off. If you are looking for deeper water you will have to venture out to the main lake. Please note you can park a boat at the dock. We have had pontoon boats and fishing boats with no problems.

There are many activities in the local communities, a guide book has been provided for you.

Access to ATV and snow machine trails are near by.

Beautiful property

We really enjoyed our stay at this cottage. The photos are very representative of what is actually there , I would say IRL it’s even better. Great choice for a quiet and relaxing vacation.

Amazing spot!

We had a wonderful week. The cottage is clean and comfortable with plenty of games, puzzles and books for rainy days. We enjoyed fishing, kayaking, campfires, and watching all the wildlife: a blue heron, ducks, giant frogs, bald eagles and crayfish and minnows that our youngest kiddo had fun catching in a bucket and releasing again.

Beautiful Property

We absolutely loved our week at Tall Pines! The property inside and out is beautiful and well appointed, providing for our every need. The views from the cottage are lovely. The cottage was spotless, modern and comfortable for rainy days or cozy nights and the lake was warm and perfect for swimming, fishing and canoeing. We certainly hope to visit again!

Lovely cottage with Bald Eagles out window

Cottage is incredibly comfortable with many little details considered. Honestly the best cottage I've stayed in and i would absolutely book again. Watching eagles soar right out window, nest very easily spotted with the binoculars provided, was a highlight. Lake is beautiful and cottage feels like a good friends place, super welcoming.

Lovely cottage with everything you could need. Great deck and level lot.. lots of chairs and firepit and outdoor toys. Unfortunately, water very shallow and muddy for at least 150' out, so swimming not good, and pine trees had dropped gum everywhere, so had to clean chairs before use.

Beautiful lakeside cottage

Such a fantastic stay! Very accommodating booking, attentive to any questions. Arrival was simple. The cottage beautifully clean, well maintained. Many options for lake activities. My wife and myself enjoying our daily canoe excursions and appreciated the different types of birds. The lake view unobstructed and calming. Not too deep. We all enjoyed a wonderful holiday with our family and thank our hosts for sharing their beautiful property and making us feel welcome.

Wonderful

My husband and I spent a wonderful week at the cottage, it was the last week of August, and we had perfect weather, and the lake pretty much to ourselves. The cottage is as nice as the pictures. Very clean and the furniture and beds are extremely comfortable. Outside was also as pictured, beautiful view of the lake from the deck. We chose to spend most of our day’s kayaking, good quality kayaks and a perfect location for paddling around looking for birds and ducks. Would definitely recommend this cottage.

Beautiful place to unwind

The cottage is beautiful and thoughtfully presented. The lake was quiet the week we stayed and we took advantage of the kayaks and SUPs to get out and enjoy it. The water was clear and remains at a depth of 3-4 feet for quite a way out (the only downside of this is that there is no fishing off the dock). We had 2 teenagers with us and they loved having the snug downstairs to escape to and play board games and darts. Thanks for a great stay!

Lovely home

Lakehouse has all the amenities you could ask for. They thought of everything you could need if you forgot something. Even without seeing anyone you still felt welcome as everything is set up for your arrival. Owner easy to reach. Great view. Lots of wildlife. Nesting eagles were definitely a bonus. Water is very shallow and muddy bottom. Surf socks are recommended.

Excellent winter stay

Absolutely no complaints about this property or its owner. Clearly cottage has had many recent renovations and upgrades.Clean, comfortable and modern amenities. Lots of firewood to enjoy the heatilator fireplace. Good WiFi, cell coverage and TV viewing options. Owner went out of his way to mail items left when leaving. 15 minutes to Eganville with full service Foodland grocery and huge hardware store across the road. Downtown FreshMart make delicious cinnamon buns fresh each day, not to be missed. Highly recommend for anyone wishing a winter get away.

We had an absolutely wonderful family stay at this charming cottage by Golden Lake! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how spotless and well-maintained the property was. Beautiful Paradise

This beautiful waterfront home. Better than the pictures. This place is clean and has everything you need. We loved how quiet this area is and you can hear and see all the sounds of nature. Bald eagles with their young in a nest with the view right from our window across the lake. The only con for us was that there was no satellite tv as we don't use apps to do streaming. Other than that this place is perfect!! Thank you Jim for letting us use your beautiful home. Debbie and Ken

Ideal family cottage vacation

We were very impressed with our stay at this cottage on Golden Lake. Location is about 20 min away from Eganville which you can get groceries plus a few restaurants. We also went rafting on the ottawa river which was less than an hour away. The cottage was perfectly laid out, very comfortable furniture including the beds. It was clean and had mostly new applianced, dishes, glassware, etc. The lake is shallow and warm. There was a paddleboat, canoe, SUP's and kayaks to use. Caught a few bass and pike so fishing was decent. Check in/ check out was a breeze and the owners were very responsive throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend this property to a family for a quiet getaway.

We have travelled through this area for the past few years on our motorcycles and have enjoyed ourselves every time. Tanya spent many summer vacations her as a child with her family and enjoyed fishing with her mom and dad and swimming with her brothers and sisters.
In 2021, we decided to purchase a cottage on the lake.
We hope to be able to retire here in the not too distant future, but for now to enjoy it with our three children and our dogs.
We hope others will enjoy it natural beauty as well.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

Great location for all seasons, great swimming, boating and fishing and atving. Fall brings beautiful colours in the Opeongo Valley. Winter allows cross country skiing, ice skating and kilometers of snowmobiling.
Very relaxing watching the wildlife on the lake and enjoying the large deck and campfire.
There are several attractions in the area including the Bonnechere Caves, museums, golf course, antiques and the best chelsea buns in Ontario!

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Only 1 1/2 hours from Ottawa, 4 hours from Toronto, with a spectacular drive through some of the prettiest country side Ontario has to offer.
Golden lake is one of the largest lakes in the area, great for boating, tubing, skiing and fishing. Boat and Seadoo rentals are close by or bring your own.
Tranquility bay is very quiet, not much boat traffic, great for swimming, SUPing and kayaking or floating around in the water.
Water front provides a nice sandy bottom and shallow entry for swimming. Water is crystal clear.
