Summary:
Welcome to a modern oasis located in historic Clarksville. Walking distance to some of Austin's best restaurants, and less than a mile from the heart of downtown, this custom-built home was designed to inspire and entertain guests of all ages. Large picture windows on both floors offer stunning views of the Austin skyline. Spacious and thoughtfully curated, this home offers multiple living and dining areas including an outdoor kitchen, bar, and tiered deck.

The Space:
Please note, all guests staying at a Portoro home are required to sign a rental agreement.

This stunning, residential home sits among the iconic West Lynn Street shops and restaurants to the East and Mary Francis Baylor Clarksville Park to the West. Its proximity to downtown makes it an excellent choice for guests wanting to stay near Austin’s dynamic city center with very easy access to all locations in and around Austin.

Upon arrival, guests enter into the main living room, furnished with leather sectional and wall-mounted large screen TV and soundbar system. The open floor plan expands into a custom kitchen designed for entertaining and culinary creations. A Wolf 6 burner stove and double range oven sit between a SUB-Zero Refrigerator/Freezer offering all the modern conveniences. A large, marble, waterfall island and bar stools provide lots of space for gathering or preparing meals to delight your guests.

Filled with light from large windows and high ceilings, the kitchen is outfitted with all the bells and whistles and stocked with amenities. It is also central to the downstairs floor plan offering access to the office, steel-framed staircase, master bedroom, large screened porch, and magnificent backyard. There is also a half bath, wet bar, and wine fridge.

The dining room features a custom concrete table. The angled ceilings in this room reach over 20 feet and guests can look up to the second level balcony or out the wall of windows to the large screened-in porch and through to the stunning backyard.

Also on the first level is the master bedroom featuring a king bed and ensuite bathroom with a large walk-in shower, double vanity and a BioBidet toilet seat.

The office sits just off the kitchen and has a large L-shaped desk for 2 people, HP digital printer/scanner, and ergonomic chairs.


Wind the staircase and you land upstairs to find two spacious, movie-themed bedrooms centered around a large home theater with an 80” wall-mounted Samsung, Xbox game console and Martin Logan soundbar. The upstairs level also offers 2 guest bathrooms, the laundry area and a game closet, stocked with an assortment of games for families, kids, chess players, and poker players alike.

The upstairs bedrooms are designed to thrill Harry Potter and Star Wars fans of any age. The Star Wars room offers 2 twin beds and a 46” Visio TV. Spend the night in a galaxy far far away with a model stormtrooper and Darth Vader. Collector's items from the film will inspire the imagination and novelty of this iconic film experience.

Step into a world of wizarding magic in the Harry Potter room which offers a plush queen bed, ensuite bathroom, 43” Insignia TV, and a collection of magical artifacts. Potterheads of every age can stay in style surrounded by Hedwig, golden snitches, the mirror of Erised, and the Deathly Hallows.

Guest looking to retreat in a private, resort-like backyard will find solace here. A fully covered, outdoor kitchen and bar with ceiling-mounted fans and TVs provide guests with outdoor entertainment options regardless of the Texas weather. As does the large screened-in porch. Dedicated green space (artificial turf) is surrounded by beautiful, terraced decks and landscaped pathways and 4 different areas to lounge or dine al fresco.

Other Home Features:

This home also features a full-size LG system washer and dryer, ceiling fans, polished wood floors, surround sound audio, and custom electric blinds throughout the home. Guest can also enjoy the original, vibrant, multi-chromatic, whimsical paintings by artist Michale Summer. Michael’s art of imaginary characters and mythical archetypes is in theme with the creative qualities of this amazing home.

Tesla Home Wall Charging Station - Adaptor can be used for non Tesla automobiles.

This house is in the center of everything Austin has to offer.
Walk towards two 5 star restaurants (Jeffery's and Clark"s) and to the famous Sweetish Bakery just down the hill on 6th Street. Just blocks away from the clubs and entertainment action on West 5th and 6th streets. Working guests or SXSW visitors can often walk to meetings downtown.

Caffe Medici - Known for quality french presses and smooth espresso drinks, this cafe is one of the longest-running coffee shops in the city. Although there are a few locations, Clarksville is extremely charming and comfortable with lots of outdoor seating.

Clark’s Austin - Chic oyster house featuring an expansive raw bar, house-baked bread, fresh fish, and toothsome desserts.

Cipollina - Pasta and wood-fired pizza made from scratch. Try the brisket bolognese or the spinach gnocchi alfredo.

Josephine House - Grab brunch or a cocktail in this charming cottage. The menu features classic American dining options, with locally sourced produce. Sit out and enjoy a Charcuterie Board on the tree-covered patio or have a cappuccino on the beautiful marble countertop bar inside.

Grab a drink from the vintage soda fountain and take a photo with the love is the answer mural in the front of this classic Clarksville neighborhood staple.

Old-fashioned food market that's been carrying both local & big-brand items for more than 80 years.

Additional Cleaning Fee:

We do require additional cleaning fees for guests staying longer than 3 weeks. Your Guest Ambassador will coordinate the cleaning schedule for a minimum of once every 2 weeks. You can request cleanings more frequently if desired. Additional cleaning charges will be sent using a payment request or resolution request, immediately following the cleaning.

We offer self-check-in. Portoro uses smart locks.

•We cannot guarantee early check-ins or late checkouts in advance. If the house happens to be ready earlier than our standard 4 pm check-in time on the day of your arrival, we, in most cases will allow an early check-in. For a reliable alternative with guaranteed check-in or check-out timing, it's recommended to book the night before or after your scheduled arrival or departure.

The Neighborhood:
The Clarksville neighborhood, so named for being centered around Austin's Clarksville Historic District, is charming, upbeat, and aesthetically gorgeous displaying architectural styles that date back to its founding.

Founded by freedman Charles Clark in 1871 (a formerly enslaved man), Clarksville is the oldest surviving freedman's town ‒ the original post-Civil War settlements founded by former African-American slaves ‒ west of the Mississippi River. The historic district was inducted into the National Register of Historic Places in 1976 in recognition of its unique and valuable history.

Along these neighborhood streets, guests can enjoy beautiful views among hills, sprinkled with American Craftsman Bungalows, Late Victorian homes.

Many landmarks, shops, and restaurants are within walking distance. Austin offers plenty of transportation options. Ridesharing, micro-mobility, and mass transit are available everywhere. The airport is just 20 minutes away.

Great place for a group
Very nice home, good location. Plenty of room for extended family, we had 6 adults. We stayed for UT graduation and were very happy. It would be nice if upstairs bathroom (in Harry Potter room) had more light. Would stay again.

Beautiful home, great location
Two college girlfriends and I stayed here for a long weekend, and we had the best time. The house was perfect for us – nice, big kitchen where we could fix snacks and meals, and the screened porch and backyard are wonderful. Everything we needed was provided, and check in and check out were easy. The location was perfect for seeing events downtown at the Paramount theater. I would definitely recommend this home, and would happily stay here again.

This property is top-drawer. We enjoyed our time in Austin in a quiet neighbourhood, close to everything especially Ladybird Lake, in a luxurious, well-appointed home. There were lots of condiments in the cupboards so making meals was a breeze. 10 out of 10!

Perfect house in Austin!
My four friends and I adored this house in Clarksville! It was very clean and had every amenity we needed - including a hot tub (that was already heated when we arrived). We enjoyed the beautiful backyard for drinks and snacks, and even used the turf area for workouts. The house is cutely decorated and the property manager responded to every question within minutes. The check-in and check-out process was one of the easiest I've ever experienced when renting a house. The location was also perfect for our group. We could easily walk to Josephine's for breakfast, the grocery store, and coffee shop. Otherwise, we took short Uber rides into the city for dinner or shopping. The neighborhood was trendy and felt safe at all times. I highly recommend this gem of a house in Austin!
