Located just a short 5-minute drive from the charming village shops of Metung, our cottage is the perfect spot to explore the best that East Gippsland has to offer. Whether you're looking to indulge in the nearby Metung Hot Springs and Country Club, or simply take a quiet stroll along the picturesque bush setting, Mountford Cottage offers an unforgettable experience.

Inside the cottage, guests can unwind in the lavish decor and comfortable furnishings, complete with luxurious French linen, towels, and toiletries. The main room features a TV, free Wi-Fi, wood heater, and reverse cycle air-conditioning, ensuring complete comfort during your stay. The fully equipped kitchen, complete with a fridge/freezer and pantry items, is perfect for preparing a delicious meal for your partner.

For the ultimate relaxation experience, soak your weary body in the private outdoor bath, complete with linen dressing gowns and towels. The wrap-around verandahs and BBQ on the deck with a bush setting at the back of the property provide the perfect spot for enjoying a glass of wine with your loved one. Wake up to a complimentary breakfast of Muesli, Sourdough Artisan Bread, Gippsland Jersey Butter, Tambo Valley Honey, Forge Creek Eggs, Jams, tea and coffee provided for your first morning's stay. We provide 2 bikes for guests to use during their stay, and suggest you cut though the Kings Cove Estate and take the path down to Beach Road, which is a lovely walk or ride into town, taking approximately 20 minutes by bike.

Welcome to 'Our Metung Stays'! My name is Paula and I am thrilled to be your host. I live in Melbourne with my husband, three young adults, and our two beloved dogs. Metung and the Gippsland Lakes region hold a special place in our hearts, which is why we decided to build our beautiful Cabin and Cottage to share with friends, family, and guests like you.

Our goal was to create comfortable homes that allow you to truly relax in nature and soak up the stunning surroundings, whether you are visiting in the summer or winter. You can curl up in a warm blanket in the window seat of the master bedroom at Lakeview Retreat Metung and watch the water change colors as boats pass by, or you can cozy up in front of the fire at Mountford Cottage. Both homes offer a unique experience that will make your stay unforgettable.

We believe our homes tie in well with the new Metung Hot Springs experience, which opened in November 2022. We will soon be offering packages that include access to the hot springs, so ask us for more information.

We are committed to providing our guests with the best possible experience during their stay.
