The Back House offers a pleasant walk or bike ride to Silver Lake Harbor, coffee shops, and restaurants. Featuring a reverse floor plan, The Back House provides a private setting located at the rear of a large property on Back Road. 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath: Bedroom with a Queen bed. Bedroom with two Twins. Full bath with shower only. Amenities include central air conditioning/heat, ceiling fans, complimentary wireless internet access, 1 Roku TV with apps. The kitchen offers a refrigerator, microwave, apartment-sized stove, and a coffee maker. Washer/Dryer (located in laundry shed). Sheets and towels are provided. Beds are made for your arrival. The exterior offers a deck with seating, a dining table, and an electric grill. Small screened porch. Outdoor hot/cold shower. No dishwasher. No Pets Allowed. No Smoking. Maximum parking for two cars only. Short Stays are available; there is a three-night minimum, and these stays can be booked within two weeks of arrival. This home can be reserved in advance with any arrival and departure date mid-October through end of 2023, subject to a three night minimum. During this time, short stays at this property can be booked months in advance. Property Layout: First Floor: Bedroom with Queen bed. Bedroom with two Twin Beds. Bathroom with shower only. Second Floor: Open kitchen, dining, and living area with TV. Detached Laundry Shed: Washer and Dryer.

Excellent Vacation Home in a Quaint Island. Illage

We had an excellent time during our stay at the Back House on Ocracoke Island. While it rained for a day and a half of our three day stay, the owner offered us an extra night for free (which, unfortunately, we couldn’t take advantage of). The house was well kept, charming and comfortable. The island itself is well worth checking out.

Great cozy location

The location is excellent! Right in the middle of everything. The unit itself is very cozy. Perfect for two couples and you could even put a couple kids on air mattress upstairs if you wanted. The owner also lives nearby and is very nice. We’d definitely stay here again.

Had a nice visit to Okracoke

We enjoyed our stay at the Back Porch. Island is as my husband described, quiet and easy going, as he goes there twice yearly to fish. Would say the only thing we seemed to have a bit of a challenge with was getting something to watch on TV. Outside of that, all good!

Peace & Plenty

Classic wooden house off Back Road. Close enough to walk to everything, far enough to be peaceful. Warm stained wood throughout. Snug but comfortable for up to 4 (one queen and two twins). Huge live oaks shade the yard and deck. Looking forward to returning.

Relaxing

We found rustic charm here and a snippet of a simpler way of life. We came in early Spring, when the weather still made access to and from the island unpredictable, but our stay was quite relaxing. There was an issue with property at first, but the management company took our call on a weekend and the owners quickly fixed it: Steve and Marty, are lovely people.

Awesome place

My brother and I loved your place. We were fishing the entire time. We were only there to sleep. Still a great place and peaceful. We will be back in the spring. Thank you so much. Sorry it took so long to leave a review, it was back to work as usual. You have a very nice place. So great to talk to the owner. Super nice.
