Escape and "Be Still Along the River", at this tranquil and private getaway in our King Suite. Take time walking the trail, enjoy the crackle of wood (supplied)and the starry sky at the firepit overlooking the River, relax in the one-of-a-kind hot tub room or take in the scenic views as you paddle down the river in the canoe or kayaks. Inside, two fireplaces (seasonally)will hold your gaze while you enjoy the ambiance, 3 smart tv's(one is seasonal), full-service kitchen, comfy king-size bed with 6pc ensuite including a jet tub, a 6 ft double shower(yes, for two if wanted) with rain head and eucalyptus. Total bonus... is the "to die for" glass hot tub room that is a one-of-a-kind! Definitely a guest favorite!!! While enjoying the warm water watch your favorite movie(seasonally), or relax while you take in the views of the River. The kitchen has everything you need to make a delish meal or visit one of our restaurants in the quaint town of Napanee just a couple minutes away. Rejuvenated, Romantic and Rested, all in one as you kick back and enjoy the peacefulness and privacy of your environment.
(Please note: Dock, kayaks, canoe, BBQ, and firepit available May long weekend until Thanksgiving weekend. Annual area fire Ban from April 1 to May 15, no firepit available in winter, tv in glass hot tub room is seasonal during warmer months. Great tranquil location with fantastic riverside views. Loved the suite and its amenities, particularly the hot tub after a day of hiking in Frontenac Park. Would definitely recommend to others and stay again.

Excellent spot for an extended weekend stay. Quite locations, close to Napanee which has all you need if you want leave the place. Hot tub was excellent , view of the river with the morning mist was beautiful. Was the perfect place for my wife and I to celebrate our 20th anniversary

We stayed in this suite for five nights. It was a short getaway for my husband and I. The location was great… a very short drive to town and everything we needed. Took a drive into Kingston and toured the penitentiary and explored the area. The property was great… felt secluded and we enjoyed the river… kayaking and fishing (caught some trout and small bass). There were fishing poles to use and plenty of space to explore. The suite was comfortable and the perfect place to relax. Everything was clean and there was a lot of attention to detail (a French press and coffee, variety of teas, shampoo, body wash, cozy robes, etc). The shower was huge with three heads and aromatherapy. Everything was great and the pictures were pretty accurate. Karen was quick to respond and a great host. We enjoyed our stay and if we travelled there again we would definitely stay again! If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing and luxurious place to stay or want to connect with your spouse, book this place!

We had an amazing romantic & relaxing few days at this property. The spaces are even better than the photos. Very comfortable. We loved the little extras like the games, books & gift basket. So thoughtful! The indoor hot tub where you can relax and gaze at the river view is fantastic! Also a very short drive into town.

Parent Getaway

Our stay at Be Still Along the River was spectacular! As parents to 4 young kids, looking for a weekend getaway, this property was the best you can get! Its accommodating amenities and the most beautiful views made it worth it! 3 nights was not enough. The host was available at all times to answer our questions, and the house comes perfectly equipped with all you need. With an amazing quaint kitchen that we cooked all our meals in, all the features for a spa day (including a hot tub and a eucalyptus steam shower), and a huge living room couch and TV, we had everything we needed to enjoy some (much needed) time away from the kids!! 10 stars!! Highly recommend :)

Great getaway spot

The space is great for a peaceful getaway and to unwind. Lots of nearby spots in Napanee to explore and kayaking on the river was easy and relaxing. Karen was quick to respond and very helpful in answering all our questions. Overall it was a great experience and we'd definitely recommend it to anyone.

A romantic getaway of our dreams!

A gem of a romantic getaway! The space is beautifully maintained, as beautiful as in the photos, and very clean and organized. In addition to enjoying the hot tub, we took advantage of the property for a tranquil walk and took the canoe down the river, which was a delight. The site is comfortably private, with tranquil views of the river and woods, while being just down the road from restaurants, the grocery store, and many great nature trails, beaches, antiques, and more! We had a blast and hope to enjoy a stay here again someday! Thanks.

Beautiful & Peaceful

We came to Be Still by the River, we wanted peace and quiet to relax and spend quality time doing nothing. This is exactly what we got.The house and garden is superb, very cosy and welcoming, Karen & Kevin have obviously worked hard to create a little oasis of calm by the river. The property was well maintained and equipped, very clean with thoughtful touches from our hosts to make us feel at home.The hot tub annex was a real bonus, the listing does not exaggerate how wonderful it is to relax in the tub, surrounded by trees with a great view of the river slowly flowing past. We didn’t venture far from the house but can recommend Coffee Cravings and the Waterfront pub/restaurant in Napanee just down the road. From booking to leaving all comms with Karen were really easy and she responded super quick to any questions. I can’t guarantee her magic powers but we asked for great weather and she delivered….Seriously we had 5 days of total rest and relaxation, couldn’t ask for more.

Beautiful Retreat

We had a fabulous weekend away at this property. The space looked great in the photos and turned out even better in person. We enjoyed a cozy rainy weekend listening to the sound of the rain on the roof of the covered porch from the luxury of the hot tub overlooking the beautiful river. It was serene and oh so relaxing. The indoor space was lovely and lacked nothing. The kitchen was well-equipped, the bathroom had some nice upgrades and the bed was very comfortable. Loved the space, the decor, and the natural beauty of the property. We’ll be back to this gem!

beautiful location

Beautiful location with cozy accommodations. Thoughtful welcome basket and teas and coffee as well as bottled water for us to enjoy. Very comfy bed too. Due to the time of year we were not able to enjoy the location to the full scope; we were asked not to use the trail system due to mud and preparing the area for their daughters upcoming wedding. Water levels too high and swift to use the kayaks. Fire ban during our stay as well. Lots of signage in the VRBO explaining do's and don'ts for the property as well as some minor wear and tear in keeping with the age of the property.

Getaway to disconnect and reconnect.

Karen and Kevin’s vacation property was just what we needed to tuck away from the rest of the world and just be with each other. The living room was cozy with the fireplace and sectional to cuddle on. The bedroom was perfectly sized and I slept like a baby in the bed. My spouse was grateful that the hot in was in a seasonal room to block the cold winds that we had. We never saw the tenant in the other part of the house and rarely heard them (only when they did laundry). The soaker tub and the double shower were also a treat to have and spend time in. The property was super easy to find and Karen was very communicative on all things related to the house and area attractions. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks so much Karen and Kevin!

Mini honeymoon

The house was a quaint, quiet, warm and cozy oasis for us to escape to for the weekend. Karen was amazing with checkin, follow up to ensure we were in and settled (and make sure we had everything we needed). It was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated and made to feel warm and welcoming. We would love to go back again and highly recommend staying here, or at any of their getaways! We appreciated the opportunity to be there and feel very blessed and thankful

If you are hoping for respite from the daily routine and time away from your hectic life this is the place for you. This apartment is tucked away next to a small river behind the trees. Huge living room windows let the outdoors in. We read books, we toured wineries, we cooked in during the evenings with a bottle of wine and the fireplace for ambience. The bedroom and bath were perfect. A wonderful little place, a bit of heaven thanks to our hostess Karen…

Great couple’s weekend away

Our stay was great! The rental was well-equipped with everything we needed in the bathroom, kitchen and for activities. Our hosts were quick to respond with any issues. Would definitely recommend for a quiet weekend away!

Hello, we are Kevin and Karen! We are happy to welcome you to Be Still Along the River. Our home is way too big for the two of us, so why not share?! We also live here but only part-time and in the rear of the home. But don't worry, we may not even meet unless you request otherwise. Your King Suite(main floor bungalow of approx 1000 sq ft)and hot tub room(12 months of the year) as shown are totally private to you. We are local business owners and know we have been blessed with a great property and we'd love to share our little piece of heaven with you. We aim to make sure you get to share in the solitude and serenity of the river and we hope our hospitality shows through too! Enjoy!

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

Everyone may say they have a unique property....but we truly do! Located at Mink's bridge we have a little piece of history we like to share. Mink was the first African American slave to be set free in Eastern Ontario and his family lived here at the bridge. If you'd like to know more about his family's story, we'd love to share it. So yes, we are unique in that nature but also in others....from the glass hot tub room, to the trail, the firepit on top of the old bridge, to a kayaking down the river, there's lots to enjoy while you're here. Or as we have found out with previous guests....it's hard to get yourself out of the cozy suite existence. Something for everyone to enjoy.

Our Romantic atmosphere meets your adventurous personality..... From personal showering products to luxurious sheets, to the 6 ft double-headed shower, to the kayaking and trail walking and firepit gazing, to a glass hot tub room, and terrific views of the river while you relax in front of the gas fireplace....WOW! We aim to give you an experience of a "REBOOK". Something missing?....happy to be asked if we can accommodate a request. Just bring what you'd like to eat because I think we have everything else covered!
