The space
Our view at La Escondida offers features that other vacations only dream about. Relax and watch whales, dolphins, turtles and stingrays swim by right in front of you from your private terraza. Birds fly by so close you'll think you've become part of the flock. Pure ocean breeze. Pure ocean bliss. Please note as of July 31, 2022 Phase 2 construction continues behind the building and while we need to walk throught this construction area to access our building guests have reported no noise disturbances.
La Escondida is an environmentally conscious development, constructed from 2018 and completing phase 1 in late 2020. The development was recently featured in Metropolis Architecture Magazine. The design character of this modern villa with unobstructed direct views of the Pacific Ocean is minimalist luxury, allowing the stunning natural surroundings to steal the show. Custom designed furnishings in dining and master bedroom, clean and contemporary double sink in master en suite, ample closet storage in master and bunk bed room, premium stainless fridge and dishwasher, electric cook top, in suite washer and dryer and air conditioning in all 3 bedrooms. The kitchen has all the items you need to eat in if you desire - full set of pots and pans, cooking utensils and place settings for 8. The Villa has wifi (best speeds available for this location) and there is 24 hour security on site. Beach umbrella and beach towels are also provided for use during your stay.
The outdoor space of the villa is an expansive 800 sq ft (75 sq meter) with fully collapsing glass doors between indoor and outdoor areas - allowing for beautiful seamless living.
A refreshing plunge pool is a welcomed luxury, providing the opportunity to relax and stay in, with all comforts in your own private space.
The Villa has a private direct entrance with keyless entry - no common indoor areas. The development has 2 shared pools and a common lounge area, also with great views of the ocean, offering options for cooling off and relaxing.
Perched between Playa Principal and Puerto Angelito, an afternoon at the beach is a 5 minute walk away. The magnificent Playa Carazalilio is a 15 minute walk or 40 peso taxi ride.
There is nothing better than enjoying a homemade ice cream and the stunning water and views of Playa Carazalilio on a beautiful Puerto Escondido day.
Puerto Escondido is an active nature lover's wonderland. Offering options from surfing some of the best waves in the world (excellent local outfits offer lessons at beaches with beginner level swells), releasing baby sea turtles to the ocean, hiring a guided ocean wildlife (dolphins, whales, sea turtles) or fishing tour, to multiple small scale tours and excursions.
Markets, grocery and dining are within walking or a short and inexpensive taxi distance. El Mercado Buenito Juarez market is a 20 minute walk away and has a wide offering of fresh fruit and vegetables, seafood, fresh made Oaxacan cheese, local Oaxacan delicacy Chapulines, prepared foods, local art, and household staples. A wonderful place to take in the culture and vibrance of the area.
Chedraui grocery is a 15 minute walk from La Escondida and dining options abound within a 10 minute walk or 40 peso taxi.
We prefer to meet you in person and show you around the condo but if you're covid sensitive or prefer to limit your interaction please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.
We live close by should you need anything during your stay.
Our neighborhood, El Faro, is in the perfect location of Puerto Escondido. Equal distance from your practically empty walking beach at Playa Bacoccho and world class Surf beach Playa Zicatella with all the shopping and restaurants in The Rinconada less than 1 km away. 10 minutes to walk to Playa Manzanillo where you can step out into the water and snorkle. 10 minutes to walk to The Adoquin with its shopping and night market. Less than 10 minutes in a taxi to downtown and the main grocery store. 15 minutes in a taxi to the Mercado with its local Mexican flare and authentic food. We are in the heart of Puerto Escondido!
5 minutes by taxi from the airport or bus station. If you enjoy the heat it is easy to walk anywhere you want to go. But getting a taxi is 1 block away and you almost never have to wait more than a few minutes for the next taxi to come (or you can call our favorite taxi driver). A taxi almost anywhere in Puerto should only cost you 50 pesos.
