Incredible Lake Michigan views/sunsets. Intimate cottage with sandy beach.

Beach lovers will revel in the incredible Lake Michigan views with breathtaking sunsets from this home on a bluff overlooking the water. There are stairs right outside the door down to the beach. This is the perfect cozy cabin for a beach getaway.

There are two sleeping areas. One is a private bedroom with a full bed and one is a room partitioned off with curtains and a full bed. The kitchen is fully equipped with the basics every kitchen needs.

There are a set of stairs down to the sugar sand beach. A fabulous rustic small cottage on a wonderful beach with a stunning view!

We loved the rustic cottage. We had everything we needed in the kitchen, plenty of towels, great hot water tank. No TV, but had good internet service. It was just a short distance to the small deck overlooking the lake. A stairway led to the fire pit and then a few more steps to the beach. The sunsets were beautiful.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Home was as advertised. Well-cared for and very clean. Gorgeous views and easy beach access. This cottage is a short drive away from the cute little town of Frankfort and there are also hiking trails nearby. Neighboring homes are close to each other, but everyone was friendly. No AC in the cottage made for a couple very toasty afternoons. Ability to open the windows and/or having a portable AC unit would be a nice addition as we had our 3-month old with us and the heat was a challenge. Overall great experience at this cottage, though!

Reviewer Comments: Our third visit to this "off the grid" gem. .....LOVE the rustic cabin, 22 steps to the lake...MILES to hike on the beach, dog friendly,loads of conservancy hiking trails,close to MANY small towns....fun little kitchen to cook in, pretty clean(there will always be "bugs" on the Lakeshore, loved the new addition of an outside eating area, great customer service(called for a new bathroom mat and it was delivered promptly)we would recommend this place for sure....... not fancy but definitely our style....we will be back.

Great beach vacation

We had the best time at this cute cabin on Lake Michigan for the 4th of July week. The place itself is exactly how it’s described and is a perfect location for a beach vacation. We did zero day trips (grew up on lake MI and have been to almost every place on the west side, if you have not, then it’s a perfect place for day trips). The neighbors were fantastic, very friendly which is great because the houses are close. We will definitely be back. It was exactly what we were looking for on a relaxed vacation. Very clean, full of books (good ones too!), games and the kitchen was well stocked with what you need to cook.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Being right on the lake the views are absolutely amazing. It was the most wonderful place to watch the sunsets over the lake. The house was clean and had a nicely equipped kitchen and bathroom. Previous reviews, stating that this house is "rustic" are not exaggerated. Our trip was apparently toward the end of the usable season, as the winds coming off the lake were quite strong and very cold. Although this is not in the control of the rental company, with the lack of seals on doors, windows and areas of the walls, it was a struggle to keep the house warm, even with electric heaters that were placed around the house. Because of the location and the views, I would recommend this property to a friend, with the caveat that this time of year may not be the most ideal because of the lack of insulation.

Perfect cottage

Perfect, my hopes when I booked this place was on the beach so I could hear the waves. It did way more than that. I could hear the waves day and night . Didn’t wanna leave , perfect. Thank you so much. I will be visiting there again

Great amenities & convenient

Great home & nice area. Everything was super clean upon arrival & so many neat things inside & around the home, this house had a lot to offer! The back deck & little private beach area with the fire pit & the views that came with that made this spot that much better. Frankfort & Manistee are not far away either which was also convenient. Tons to do within the area, we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

Blissful!

The sunsets and beach combing were AMAZING!! Could not have asked for a better location for all of the outdoor activities we love to enjoy. Each day we hiked, went rock hunting, took the boardwalk looking to expand our bird-list, walked to the lighthouse in Frankfort, visited the art gallery there, and mostly just chilled. We hope to return soon.

wonderful location

There could not be better views of Lake Michigan, or a better beach. This is just a wonderful place. The place is very thoughtfully set up, from the hose for washing off sandy feet to the kitchen to having plenty of towels. It was as described-- "rustic"-- so don't be surprised by that.

Being RIGHT on Lake Michigan means everything to us AND having a pet friendly rental just really is a score for us. As long-time renters in northwest MI this place exceeds the view of the lake, the beauty of being on the BIG lake. The cabin itself is terrific. Now mind you, we enjoy rustic with no TV or a/c. Right up our alley. We cook most every meal in and the and we were very satisfied with the kitchen equipment and space in which to serve and prepare meals. When we arrived it was very hot but a fan and extra bedding was brought to us(we stayed 2 weeks) So much beach hiking, trail hiking, golfing, bike riding AND we brought out boat and kept it in town at the marina.Our ONLY concern this year was: is the beach area frontage for the property ours and private? We know ANYONE can walk a shoreline. We unfortunately had to share the beach area with a neighboring cottage and we were a bit surprised about that. We spoke with management because the property should either be noted as PRIVATE beach or SHARING with next door neighbors.( shared with no one last year) Otherwise, this place is a winner in our book! Happy and grateful we could had the opportunity to be there.

Disappointed

This is a cute cabin. However, the photos make it seem like you have direct access to the beach - not via a steep, origami staircase. This unfortunately, kept me from enjoying the actual feel of the beach. :(( So I sat on the floating deck which is now enclosed and enjoyed the view from above. Also, both of our dogs couldn’t descend the stairs as well. I don’t know if the owners have been there yet or property management, but it could use a once over (new light bulbs, doors don’t open/ close all the way, fireplace doesn’t work which they left a heater in lieu for). All in all, the stay was a nice rustic, relaxing treat - even if I didn’t walk on the beach. ;)
