Inside, you'll be greeted with a fully renovated kitchen featuring an electric oven and cooktop, ample bench space, and seating for 3 at the island bench. Great base for a family event

Merala cottage is perfectly positioned close to town. It fit our needs exactly as we were in town for a family event. Beryl was a kind and considerate host who communicated quickly and efficiently. We really enjoyed our brief stay in this charming cottage.

House ideally located near town. Some food items on arrival an unexpected surprise. Fireplace and electric blankets made for very comfortable evenings.

Exceeded expectations and perfect location

Beryl went above and beyond in her communication and hospitality, including additional touches such as toys for my kids to enjoy, a portacot set up with a baby towel, coffee capsules and pantry/fridge items. It’s a lovely country home with a cozy fireplace, and super close to town.

This home seems to have been arranged with love and care at every detail. We loved the prepared fire place, useful kitchen, comfortable beds, provided information, instructions. Everything just worked.

The perfect country cottage

Merala is perfectly situated close to town and gorgeous walks. We could not have wished for a better place to stay. The cottage is comfortable, well appointed and immaculate. Beryl is the perfect host with us arriving early evening to a well stocked kitchen with many delights. Would highly recommend. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

Hi,
My name is Beryl and I have lived and worked in Mudgee for many years. I live on a farm 25km from Mudgee where we run sheep and cattle. I have an interest in the history of Mudgee and also enjoy the increased opportunities that the town provides with the growth of craft industries and the food and wine industry. Merala provides an opportunity for me to promote our town and encourage visitors to experience all that Mudgee has to offer.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

I have always loved the heritage cottages of Mudgee and purchased Merala in 1990. Recently, the property has been refurbished and updated for short term holiday accommodation. Being in Mudgee's heritage zone means that Merala is close to everything the town has to offer and my cosy cottage provides a heritage feel with modern amenities.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Being in the heritage zone of Mudgee means that you can leave the car behind and walk to shops, restaurants and markets, The recently refurbished Paragon Hotel has a great outdoor dining space for adults and children, while many other pubs and restaurants are a short walk from Merala. Our cottage caters for children with a range of books and puzzles whilst being close to parks, tennis courts, Mudgee pool (in summer) and other sporting venues. I invite you to take advantage of all that Mudgee has to offer from our centrally located cottage.
