Acerca de este alojamiento
Beachfront Bliss, shoreside Geographe bay
Summary:
Holiday with the whole family (including fur babies) at this peaceful waterfront property, located alongside the calm waters of Geographe Bay. Whether you enjoy boating, fishing, swimming, cycling, caves, wineries, breweries, or just a relaxing walk on the beach, this property has you covered.
The Space:
PLEASE NOTE - this house cannot be booked for 10 adults, as the bunk beds are not suitable for teen or adult guests.
Beachfront Bliss welcomes you home from the moment you arrive, thanks to its old country charm. All rooms inside are generous and comfortable, with a lovely flow throughout. You will love cooking up a storm in the massive, fully equipped kitchen, or retreating to one of the two lounge areas for some downtime. Enjoy a book on the balcony, or after dinner drinks and a chat. The beauty of this house is that its size and layout offer guests the option to watch TV or sit under the stars, without anyone being disturbed. Pure holiday bliss.
The ground floor is home to the main lounge (with wood burner, Smart TV and reverse cycle air conditioning), kitchen, dining room, laundry & WC. The master bedroom is also found on this level, with a king bed and beautifully renovated en suite bathroom, with free standing bath, shower, double vanity, and separate toilet. There is also access to the garage (from the kitchen area) and back yard (from the dining room, laundry and garage) on this floor.
The remaining 4 bedrooms are located upstairs on the first floor, accessed via the broad wooden staircase. The bedrooms centre around a second lounge, with smart TV and reverse cycle air conditioning. The main bathroom is also found on this floor, and is cleverly designed so that guests can comfortably share facilities, thanks to a galley-style powder room with separate WC, leading into the bathroom. The bathroom itself has a shower, bath and vanity. From the lounge, you can step out onto the balcony to find yet another seating area – the perfect spot to enjoy the sound of waves lapping at the shore, and inhale the salty air.
The principal bedroom upstairs has a King bed and built-in wardrobe; the flue from the wood fire downstairs travels through this room, bringing extra warmth in the winter. The other bedroom configurations are 1x Queen, 2x King singles and a single-sized bunk bed, which is suitable for children only. All King & Queen bedrooms have built-in, mirrored wardrobes, and ceiling fans; the twin king single bedroom has a tall boy, chest of drawers and ceiling fan; and the bunk bedroom has a chest of drawers, play table and wall-mounted fan.
NB **THIS PROPERTY IS NOT SUITABLE FOR STUDENT/ LEAVER BOOKINGS**
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the entire home, garage, enclosed back yard and open front yard.
The Neighborhood:
Busselton is the popular beach town at the gateway to the iconic Margaret River Wine Region (see final paragraph for a more detailed insight into the region). Just 2.5 hours away from Perth, and within easy driving distance from popular hotspots Dunsborough (15 minutes), Yallingup (20 minutes) and Margaret River (30 minutes), this is the perfect location to explore everything our region has to offer. The best news? You don't have to visit Margaret River township to enjoy some of the most famous and world class wine, as there are dozens of cellar doors to choose from, all the way down the Cape. The nearest cellar doors to Broadwater are just a 10 minute drive away, and include some of the more "off the beaten track" options for those wishing to explore smaller cellar doors, including Lentedal, Blind Corner and Mongrel Creek, as well as the better known Flametree. All produce fantastic wine, and provide different experiences for the oenophiles out there. Don't worry if wine isn't your bag, as Busselton is also home to two fantastic tap rooms - Rocky Ridge and Shelter Brewing Co. Don’t forget to visit the beautiful foreshore and famous Busselton jetty, the longest in the Southern Hemisphere!
Abbey is a quiet beachside enclave, located on the far Western side of Busselton, close to Vasse. Its perfect location on the edge of town means that it enjoys long stretches of pristine beach, without any crowds. A small community of local businesses has popped up here, offering wonderful food and drink to those in the know. Visit Claudio bake house for your morning coffee and pastries, grab some delicious fish & chips from Leeuwin Way Takeaway and some drinks from the bottle shop to enjoy dinner on the beach, or drop in to Ooze & Tang for some stunning, unique culinary delights (and a phenomenal drinks list). Benefit from town amenities and convenience during your stay, while enjoying a serene beachside holiday next to the calm, crystal waters of Geographe Bay.
It's not just about summer here, despite its popularity thanks to the glorious weather; all year round, even when we may be less blessed with warm days and sunny skies, visitors can enjoy hikes, biking, surfing, off-roading, horse riding, cave tours, water sports, fishing, wine and beer tasting, and generally eating and drinking one's way around the area! Visit in spring to catch the whale migration and wild flower season, or in autumn to enjoy quieter beaches and excellent surf.
Please see the Guidebook for our personal recommendations on where to eat, drink, shop and what to see & do in this fabulous region. This list is by no means exhaustive, however, so please get in touch if you need any pointers ahead of your stay.
The Margaret River Wine Region is one of the most prestigious winemaking areas in the world. Considered a “boutique” region, production is relatively small and quality-focused. The unique microclimates and fabulous soils here mean that producers are able to make some of the world’s best Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, along with a host of other single varietal and blend wines; most wineries will have a good selection of options, including various sparkling wines, Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz if the flagship varieties aren’t your cup of tea. Many of these wineries are also home to phenomenal restaurants, and your dining options will range from full tasting menus to casual pizzas or grazing boards. If you have any particular restaurant on your wish list, we strongly recommend booking ahead all year round. In peak summer season (December-February), bookings are essential and may need to be made several weeks or months in advance. Please contact us directly if you would like tailored recommendations for your self-guided winery and/or brewery tour. If you have time, we highly recommend buying a ticket onto one of the many locally operated winery and brewery tour buses, for an unforgettable day out of excellent food and drink.
Getting Around:
Busselton is very easy to get around, thanks to a network of bike and footpaths. The main path runs all the way from Dunsborough to Busselton, mostly along the beachfront - in this case, it runs right past the front of the house. The area is very flat, meaning that it is easy to get around on foot, bike or scooter if you choose. Guests will need a car to explore the surrounding area (Margaret River region) independently, but there are a number of local charter companies offering wine, brewery and a number of adventure/wilderness tours.
Other Things to Note:
STRA Registration Number: STRA628009TEV17A
All linen is provided (excl. beach towels). All of our accommodation is fully self-catered, and as a courtesy we provide a basic starter pack for each stay, including: soap, toilet rolls, tea, coffee & sugar, basic cleaning products, and some cooking essentials (oil, salt & pepper). We provide these items to help kick-start your holiday in a stress-free way, but guests are responsible for the ongoing supply of anything they should require beyond the starter pack provided.
During winter months, we provide some complimentary wood, kindling, matches and fire lighters for houses with indoor fire places. Guests requiring more wood for their stay - or wishing to use the fire outside of winter months - will need to purchase their own, available at local service stations and hardware stores.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the existence of an invasive beetle (Polyphagous Shothole Borer (PSHB)) in the Perth Metropolitan Area, movement of PSHB host material such as firewood, tree pruning's, mulch (less than 2.5cm diameter), unseasoned wood, and plants (less than 2.0cm diameter) from within this area to areas outside is prohibited. To help STOP the spread, please purchase wood from the South West Area. (Advised by The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD)
Interaction with Guests:
The team at South West Holiday Properties (Cheryl, Ali & Julia) are here to help you enjoy a pleasant and carefree stay. One of us is available on the number listed at all times; please do not call outside of office hours (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm) unless it is an emergency. We are on hand to answer DMs and texts after hours.
