Acerca de este alojamiento
Welcome to Blue County House!
Summary:
Relax at Blue County House! A Victorian-style waterfront home overlooking the waters of Adolphus Reach. Blue County House will comfortably accommodate a group of 6 adults and an additional 2 children under the age of 10.
The Space:
Blue County House is a fantastic two-level home, perfect for a family or friends' getaway! It features an open and spacious layout with windows that capture gorgeous views of the bay. The water-view deck spans the width of the house and is likewise an ideal spot for enjoying the view and keeping an eye on the kids while they play in the yard. In addition, Blue County House features three bedrooms and two full bathrooms so it's quite comfortable for groups of 6 adults, plus two more children aged 10 or under.
The large level yard is ideal for outdoor games, and for the swimmers in the group, there is 75' of pebble and rock beachfront for splashing to your heart's content. Go for a paddle! One child's size and two adult kayaks are there for your enjoyment! After spending a day playing in the water, you can grill a summer feast on the new Weber BBQ and dine under the sky on the deck overlooking the water. For a spectacular end to the day, gather around the campfire, roast marshmallows, and watch the blazing sunset. Located near the Prinyer's Cove Marina, about 20 minutes east of Picton.
In Picton, you'll find groceries and all the basic supplies you'll need for your vacation. You will enjoy this quiet, scenic rural area in the east end of Prince Edward County known as Cressy. The natural beauty provides a great backdrop for cycling, strolling, or a memorable drive along country roads. For guests with an electric vehicle, take advantage of the EV (Electric Vehicle) Tesla wall charging unit available on property. Bring the appropriate adapter to recharge your non-Tesla vehicle on site.
Nearby you'll find the Fifth Town Artisan Cheese Company as well as several wineries. Take some time to visit the natural wonder of Lake-on-the-Mountain and from that viewpoint, you can look down to see the Glenora Ferry crossing the bay below. You can also enjoy the Rose Museum where you'll find information about the Loyalist history of this area.
And what vacation would be complete without a trip to the Sandbanks Provincial Park which is about a 35-minute drive away. Two beach passes are included with your rental. While you're staying in Prince Edward County, be sure to check out the other attractions including the many wineries and vineyards throughout this designated wine region. If you're looking for adventure, you can picnic at one of the many local beaches; relax at a spa; shop and browse in the boutiques, artisan and antique shops; dine out at a fine restaurant or pub; play a round of golf; tour the County on bicycle; take a hike at the Dunes; try your luck at fishing, or check out the local farm markets.

The Neighborhood:
Waupoos is one of the County’s most eastern communities and is located between Smith’s Bay on Lake Ontario and Cape Vessey.
Just a short drive from Picton, Waupoos is the birthplace of PEC’s wine industry, with the area’s first winery (Waupoos Estate Winery) opening here in 2000. Overlooking Lake Ontario, Waupoos Estate Winery features a tasting bar as well as a beautiful patio restaurant–it’s easy to see why this is a popular venue for weddings and events. Other area wineries worth a visit: Del-Gatto Estates, Cape Vineyards and the Devil’s Wishbone Winery.
Locals consider Waupoos apple country, so expect to see plenty of orchards and visit some of Ontario’s best cideries: The County Cider Co, Clafeld Fruit Winery and Cider House (with a licensed patio overlooking the lake).
Waupoos is a paradise for foodies, with local farmer’s markets, pick-your-own blueberries (at the Blueberry Patch or Little Highbush), the Cressy Mustard Co. and the Fifth Town Cheese Co, a handmade cheese producer specializing in goat and buffalo milk cheeses (try the Cape Vessey….)
The County’s annual Maple Festival in March is a must-do event, with official festival events taking place in many of Waupoos’ sugarshacks. Feast on a pancake breakfast, tour a sugarshack and get your fill of maple syrup.
In the summer months, take in an outdoor concert at the Waupoos Park.
Getting Around:
Visiting Prince Edward County does require your own vehicle. There is no public transit or Uber in The County, although we do have a number of taxi companies and car for hire services.
