Come and enjoy peace and tranquility with the sounds of native bird song, Enjoy local fishing for snapper of the rocks, or out in the boat in either Kenepuru or the outer sounds, lots of boat launching options available. Put out the set net for flounder during the season or spearfish our local beaches within walking distance. We have a private beach with fine gravel and sand mix good for swimming and cooking marshmallows by the fire. We have 85 acres of regenerative native busk with walking tracks to the top of our boundary providing majestic views of the surrounding sounds. Enjoy the beautiful sunsets while sitting on our front deck enjoying your favourite beverage. Ponga cove resort is a 25 minute drive for excellent fine dining and provides lots activities for guests and access to the queen Charlotte track. Portage resort is 30 min drive or 8 minutes by boat from the Waitaria Bay jetty. 20 min drive will land you in Clova Bay for good boat access to the outer sounds. 4G cellular

We had a very relaxing and well needed holiday, the house was lovely and spacious with beautiful views. The lawns and outdoor area was great for the kids to play and felt safe doing so.

5 nights of tranquility

The house is perfect, has everything you need, stunning views and we enjoyed hiking up the summit. Having the private beach to ourselves was awesome. A lovely place to spend time as a family and away from civilisation.

Stunning location on kenepuru sound. Short walk to the property's private beach and a great walking track on the property itself. Spacious and modern with all the comforts of home. Thanks so much for a great stay

Relaxing stay in the sounds

We had a wonderful stay in the sounds. Jason and Cheryl were great with communicating and accommodating our needs. Their home was spacious, warm and clean and there were plenty of nearby activities to keep us busy, such as fishing, hiking and canoeing. We would love to stay again and bring our boat on the next trip. Many thanks, Courtney & James

Whether you’re here to relax, explore, fish, enjoy the views or simply sit on the deck with a drink and watch the world go by, I hope you feel at home while you’re here.

Why I Chose This Area
The Marlborough Sounds is one of those places where you can slow down and properly switch off. We chose this area for its incredible combination of water, bush, mountains and wide-open space — and because there’s always something to explore.
I love being able to step outside and have the Sounds right there, whether it’s heading out on the boat, going fishing, walking the hills or simply sitting on the deck enjoying the view. It’s peaceful, remote and a world away from the usual hustle and bustle.
What I enjoy most is the freedom and variety. You can spend the day exploring the water or the bush, then come home, fire up the BBQ, pour a drink and watch the sun go down over the Sounds. It’s a pretty special place to call home.

What makes our place special is the combination of privacy, views and the genuine Marlborough Sounds experience. Set amongst the native bush with spectacular views across Kenepuru Sound to the Richmond Ranges, it feels a world away from everyday life.
This isn’t a resort — it’s a comfortable, well-equipped home where you can relax and enjoy the outdoors. There’s plenty of space to spread out, with decks overlooking the water, easy access to boating and fishing, and the hills and bush right on your doorstep.
For us, the best part is the setting. You can spend the day out exploring, come back to the house, fire up the BBQ and sit on the deck watching the boats go by. It’s the kind of place where you naturally slow down, reconnect and enjoy being somewhere properly remote.
