Property was in horrible shape There was mold in the master bath. The wallpaper was falling off the walls. Mold around light switch plates in the living room. The carpet was faded throughout. This house needs a lot of repairs.

Windows are rotted and falling apart. We had to use aluminum foil to keep driving rain out. Came back from dinner to find a maintenance worker in our laundry room painters taping the broken handle onto the door. No prior notice and we did not ask for service. The handle was broken from prior tenants. The carpets are stained and nasty. On the upside...the location and views were great. It's sad for us to see a house so outdated and neglected. Will not book again.

We really enjoyed the location and the community at Pirates Cove — 10/10! We are already planning our 2027 vacation here, but unfortunately, we will not be staying in this home again. There were definitely some positives. The home itself was clean and organized when we arrived, the bathrooms, kitchen, and laundry room were all very clean, and the bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. The linens provided by the realty company were also clean. The home is outdated, but still functional. That said, the home is very poorly maintained, and the previous guest reviews from July & August 2026 and photos accurately reflect the condition we experienced. We had extremely slow drainage in the right-side sink in the primary bathroom, the middle-level shower, and the lower-level shower. In our case, there was a plumbing clog, which Village Realty handled. Maintenance resolved the issue within about 15 minutes, removing approximately half a bag of plumbing debris. We appreciated the quick response, but the fact that this much debris had accumulated speaks to the overall lack of maintenance. The grill was another issue. It was not clean and was out of propane. We cleaned the grill, exchanged the tank ourselves, and left a full tank for the next guests. All deck furniture is weather-damaged and feels unsafe to sit on. The decks themselves are very splintered. We will be going through Pirates Cove Realty directly for our 2027 rental needs.

Roomy with great views

This hose was very spacious and offered three decks facing the sound. Furniture was comfortable and kitchen was well equipped. There are four medium indoor staircases which could be a deterrent to anyone who has mobility issues. Appointments could use a little updating.

Worst experience ever. The house needs updating. The carpet is filled with dog pee stains. The entire carpet needs replacing. The tub/shower did not drain. It was filled with algae. The mattress in guest room so uncomfortable that our daughter slept on the floor.

It was a beautifully manicured subdivision. We reported a ant problem in the kitchen island bar. Most of the home is very nice. Some areas show former maintenance issues, and we are not sure they are completely resolved. Might be a slow plumbing leak in the middle bathroom causing a mold issue in the lower bathroom. When first entering there was a musty smell which went away when the central air came on. I feel bad for the owners. Whenever they update carpet, deck, wallpaper, roof and maybe kitchen, they are likely to spend 100k.

This house needs alot of updating. The pictures are very misleading on the VRBO listing. The carpets are very stained, the wallpaper peeling in every room, tub on middle floor doesn't drain, rot around several windows, can't walk on deck barefoot for all the nails sticking up, deck chairs were broken, the swing on top level was severely dry rotted, the fridge was not very cold moved most of our food to coolers to keep it safe to eat. The couch was absolutely disgusting, very dirty and cracked, no remote to turn volume up and down, 1 Bedroom did not even have a TV for the kids, the TV on top floor is maybe an 18 inch TV and remote does not turn it off or on or control the volume. For the cost we paid for this house I had way higher expectations.
