It is our second time staying at this place. We just LOVE this place so much. We would definitely come and stay here again if we were to come to Grindelwald. Best apartment ever!!

Loved our stay at the Kirschbul

The room was very comfortable and spacious. The staff was very friendly. Great view from our balcony and close to the bus line. The breakfast was incredible with variety including hot items. Highly recommend this place.

Lots of space, amazing views, beds were a little small, unfortunately we had flies in the property. But heaps of cooking utensils, plates - felt like home.

The apartment is outdated and the room is old. Breakfast is the best thing - Linda the staff is the best. Area is easy walk to the main attraction and convenient Overall probably won’t stay again due to the room condition.

We enjoyed many aspects of our stay, but our first room had a very strong urine odor. Most likely a pet from a previous stay had urinated on the carpet. When we brought this to the attention of the staff, the housekeeping manager came to inspect the room but said she could not detect the smell. The hotel did respond by arranging for the carpet to be cleaned and shampooed, so we stayed in the room that night. Unfortunately, around 4:00 a.m., both of us woke up because the urine odor had become very noticeable again. The next morning, we reported the issue once more, and the hotel promptly upgraded us to a different apartment. The new accommodation was excellent, and from that point on, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is clean, well maintained, and in a convenient location. The breakfast offered an excellent variety of choices, the views were beautiful, and the staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. My only suggestion would be to improve the pet policy. I support allowing guests to travel with their pets, but it may be beneficial to designate specific pet-friendly rooms, require additional protective measures to prevent accidents on carpeting, or consider replacing carpets with hard flooring in pet-friendly accommodations. These changes would help prevent unpleasant odors for future guests while still maintaining a welcoming environment for pet owners. Despite the initial issue, we appreciated the way the hotel resolved issue and we’ll recommend it.

Great apartment near the main hotel . Breakfast included at the hotel which was a great start to the day . Apartment was very nice , ground floor windows opened onto a large patio overlooking the mountains . Parking easy and free. We did battle with the washing machine!!! May have been us rather than the machines . There was a fly festival in our apartment the week we were there so had to deal with them . Area delightful . So much to do , so many walks and hikes . It’s a decent walk into Grindelwald which is a long way back when you’re tired . Notes that all taxis start their fares at CHF20: we paid CHF25 to get from the station to the apartment . Ouch. Buses are free with your guest card . Hotel staff are lovely . It’s a lovely place

The breakfast was awesome but the parking sucked. We had to park down the hill from the room. The WiFi also was bad. We could only get it to work from the kitchenette table. The owner blamed it on our “American phones” and wouldn’t even make an effort to troubleshoot the issue. We were on the bottom of three floors and, despite our three phones and laptop not getting WiFi (except at the table) the owner insisted that no one had ever before complained about poor WiFi. He was rude and insulting and then later explained that is just a cultural thing and we should just ignore it.

Shuttle service from Train station to Hotel, and the acces to public transport with card without additional fees, in the evening the hotel offer a cakes services without any additional charge, many activities in my case to the montain without addional cost. the people is good and the service is excellent.

Highlight was the views, ability to cook , breakfast and kind staff members. My family (includes a 4yr old) spent 4 days at this place. This was during the heat wave in June. I mention as there is no fan or air conditioning. Issue for some but we managed fine. The reason I took away a star was cause of the bed - it was horrible and we were traveling for 14days, so trust me I don’t say this lightly. The mattress was so uncomfortable , each night after hike 16-18k steps (with a stroller & a kiddo) I would dread going to bed. Then morning would come I would forget all about it cause of the views , the breakfast and the staff - cause they were amazing. SUPERB CLEANING, appreciate that. The valley is infected with flys , nothing you can do about it . Every night I had to shoo 30-50 fly’s. I know it’s nature and all but our four year old had a melt down every night , so in that heat wave at night we had to keep the windows closed so it made sleep even worse for me. And I know kids need to rough it out but still… The bedroom was kinda tiny too, the living room space is separate . The only long mirror to check your outfits sits in the bedroom behind a door. Such a horrid location, I wanted to look cute even in my athleisure but that mirror location was a battle . Kitchen was well stocked. The bathroom had a junky towel holder that kept falling from the weight of the towel - seemed useless just put a bar. We used the laundry facilities. It worked fine.
