This place is like a mini apartment with kitchenette located in busy location with mall restaurants stores so everything is near and walking distance. Like any older type of motel/hotel there’s always the need for updating rooms outside fix this and that. If I was in the area again and needed a place I would stay again. Staff at front were pleasant

I did not feel safe here. First floor room with sliding glass door in living area. Overgrown weeds on steps leading to front door. I did not stay the night.

Wow. I guess the price is right, but this was the sketchiest place I've ever stayed. It was very clean, but that is the only plus. Rules given out upon arrival. That was a first. Not to worry, they weren't enforced. No blankets on the bed. 2 sheets. No plastic cup for the bathroom. I did not feel safe at all. There was a deadbolt but nothing for it to go into on the door jamb. There was a safety latch for what thats worth. First night I could smell 4 different types of pot. Second night it sounded like gunshots, but no sirens, so im not sure. I have never been in a place like this. The grounds were mowed, but weeds have overtaken the landscape, and everything else is crumbling. My recommendation is a hard pass. It was very clean though.

Affordable but sketchy

The room had not been cleaned properly you could find filth in any corner. it also appeared to have had a family, more than 2 people, living in it for some time. the couch was filthy and there was just a feeling of unease the whole time I was there.

Not a great stay

The lock on our door was out of order the room was not clean ask to transfer rooms. Staff was very accommodating. Someone was murdered across from us in the middle of the night awakened by police lights and questioning around 5am. Hotel did not say or do anything concerning the murder. Not that it was their fault but there was no check in or anything that showed concern for safety or mental state of guest. At least a partial refund would have nice. Hotel definitely in need of major upgrades.

We arrived to find out the air conditioning was btoke, no one bothered to contact us at all. We tried yo suck it up but the room was 92 degrees smelled like pee, ashes all over yhr couch, just very dirty room so we left. Very disappointed

Honestly, I can’t believe that this facility is still in business. I was in their area for one night and did not realize that this is primarily an extended stay property. I did not feel safe where they put me which felt like it was back in an alley. The exterior of the facility is absolutely terrible. Rocks falling off the wall, overgrown broken fences rickety stairs. In the room, there was no soap. When I tried to call to ask about it, the phone didn’t work. The light in the bathroom didn’t work, there wasn’t a trashcan, the walls were chipped and filthy, and the curtain had clearly been torn apart by a cat. I used the facilities, grabbed my key and went back to the front desk. I told them I would not stay in that room given its condition. When I asked about the soap, I was told that because they are an extended stay facility they don’t provide soap! Perhaps they could put in a little 50 Cent bar of soap rooms for those customers who are clearly only staying one night! I had an appointment to get to so I couldn’t stay and talk with them, and was hoping that they wouldn’t charge me. But they did. Please see the pictures below. Absolutely the worst hotel experience I have ever had and I travel a lot.

I couldn’t stay one night and had to refund. The first room they sent me to had a hole in the wall and 20 garbage bags outside the door entrance and patio. The second room they tried to give me had the roof literally coming down and the bathroom tub had a huge ring in it from not being cleaned. The furniture was chewed up and dingy. The lighting was flickering in each room. I didn’t even dare to sit on the bed! Disturbing and disgusting property. It looked more like beat up apartments. Smoking smell outside and in rooms. Will never recommend or stay at!

This was honestly a terrible experience for my family we have been hotel hoping for about two months now while in between homes and we've stayed in most of the hotels in the area this was by far the worst and it's was a toy bummer because we were excited for the large space. I'll just give one example probably the worst of the experiences we encountered well we had went out to grab something to snack on for our movie night with the kids and it was raining super heavy we were only gone for a short period of time maybe 30-49 minutes and we returned to our room key not working icing on the cake is our 4 year old locked out keys in our car trying to help get little brother out of car . When we tried contacting front desk they were closed we followed with contacting emergency number and no answer we were stuck in the rain kicked out of our room for hours eventually tow guy showed got our car unlocked so at least we had shelter from the rain with our kids. I did something I shouldn't have and pried a window open to get inside but I had enough I wanted dry clothes it was just awful.

Rough Property, Understanding Management 1) The Affordable Suites were more like ghetto housing projects than a half decent Inn. 2) The Management was very understanding and refunded our bill We booked a weeklong stay for "Affordable Suites of America Grand Rapids" six months in advance. The pictures online seemed nice and the reviews were okay. We arrived last week, the check in was fine, but as soon as we pulled away from the office, it was clear something was very wrong. The landscaping was neglected, the outside facilities were dirty and some rubbish was laying around. The other vehicles parked were all worn-out jalopies. We parked, and found a intravenous needle on the parking lot. The smell of waste, pot, trash, and human body odor was unmistakable in the air. The inside of the suite we booked was sticky everywhere. The floor was dirty and sticky, the shower was broken, the microwave was broken. There were patched and unpainted holes and dings everywhere on the walls. The front desk management was very understanding when we pointed these things out and we received a full refund. Thank you for that!

Very spacious, but no pots, dishes or anything to be able to cook in the kitchen. No coffee machine, no toaster. The bed is not queen size it is full size which is smaller. There were not extra linens or a thicker blanket. Also no hair drier, neither tissues. Basic things that hotels or even motels have, they didn't have. But t was a very spacious studio apartment.

Was a quick trip. Property was nice. Room look update. Only negative was came with a kitchen but had nothing in it. No dishes no pots or pans or silverware. If you were going to use it you’d have to bring your own

The properties details are a lie. MY room didn’t have trash cans, no dishes pot or pan, nightstand clock, etc. I had to ask for any & everything that WAS needed to try to accommodate my stay. The pictures on-line looks nothing like what they're offering.

Fresh paint, modern look, full kitchen, good heat (has only furnace) and big suite. A friendly man called me while I was on my way down state. He was friendly. I was shocked to learn that the front desk closes at 3 PM on a Saturday. Issues: Smoke Detector chirping for a new battery for the entire stay. Called the "emergency" number when we arrived about it. Told couldn't do anything about it then. Would send someone in the AM--they didn't. It chirped until we left at 10:45 am. No stop for the sink. How do you wash your dishes??? No plates, silverware, or cookware for the kitchen, which is okay if the description told you that. I come prepared for that, but noting that would help other travelers. The sliding closet doors are not on their railing, so they are just for looks, I guess? There isn't a single garbage can or garbage bage in the place. AND you have to take your garbage out to a dumpster by another building. WHO TRAVELS WITH GARGES BAGS/CANS??? Who books a room and does garbage detail?? I had high hopes when I entered the room. From the first chirp on, it was downhill from there.
