We had a lovely stay in the beautiful Royal Kings Arms with a view of Lancaster Castle from our bedroom window, very genuine welcome from the lovely staff and management, perfect stay.

A great stay, everything we needed with fantastic staff. Room was great, beds comfortable and best breakfast I've had in a hotel for years. Staff were warm and friendly, couldn't ask for more. Will definitely be back.

Stayed overnight on a dinner bed and breakfast rate. The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was nice but the bathroom was in need of an upgrade, that being said it was very clean. Inner was fantastic all meals are homemade to a very high standard not a frozen item to be seen. Breakfast again was a good. Very central to the centre of Lancaster. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Central for our sight seeing trip in Lancaster. The two door lift is great. Breakfast was lovely. Our room was warm, with ensuite bathroom, very hot water and beds very comfortable.

Stayed here 3 times short walk from the station! Stayed in room 205 which is at the rear of the building so nice and quiet away from the city traffic noise! We always book DB&B excellent value, the hotel seemed quieter than previous visits. Pre-dinner drinks were very very limited as bar person said they were waiting for a delivery actually only Guinness on draft & beer fridge almost empty! My partner & I both choose the soup which was delicious he had chicken curry which was an large portion together with trimmings I choose seafood

Staff are lovely and the building has some nice old touches. The bar area and restaurant are nice but the rooms although clean could do with some updating. I stayed ina standard room wich was functional and cleanly decorated but the bathroom was a little dated. I would stay again though.

Not worth the money, top floor at 68 years old , Not for me , room a bit shabby in need of renovation, Very noisy from the road , Will not be staying there again.

We liked the short distance from the railway station & shops. We didnt like how the door was difficult to lock. We also think arrangements for brealkfast should be stated @ the beginning of your stay as on our first morning we ended up with a cold brealfast from the buffet which we later foubd out had been set out since 5.30a.m. in the morning!!. We also later found out that you had to order your breakfast when you needed it.On a brighter note the staff were brilliant & couldnt have been more helpful & pleasant. There was a very noisy rock group on @ the pub across the way so we were grateful that they stopoed playing @ 10.30p.m. All in all not a bad place to stay.

Decent hotel for the price but needs work

Good location. Rooms in need of some upgrade, but ok for the price. Breakfast was mental! Not booked but they found us a table. Service was so slow it took 1 hour to bring the food. Lady on the next table walked out and one of our guests had wolf down the food and run for his train. It can’t be that hard can it? Otherwise the hotel was fine. WiFi good. Some parking nearby but had to pay. Close to station.
