The location is great close to a small town Pictou! Pool is amazing and lots of outdoor activities of you come with a group or family. Staff extremely friendly. Pets welcomed and inside the rooms lots of space.

Absolutely gorgeous area with multiple views. The grounds are pristine and impeccably maintained. The only downside was the extremely uncomfortable hide a bed. It made for a difficult night’s sleep. Yet even with that, I will definitely return.

Beautiful cabins tucked away in the woods. The pool was amazing. Includes Fire pits, wood stoves, kitchen, bathroom. Everything you need.

I'm only disappointed that it took me so long to realize these chalets were so close to me! They're perfect for a weekend getaway, quiet, and secluded and have beautiful views from the mountain. Staff are super friendly and check-in was very easy. The cabins have a wood stove with ample free firewood provided. It comes with a stove, fridge and microwave. The drawers and cupboards are stocked with all the utencils you need for cooking and entertaining. We brought our two dogs (only $10 per pet, per night) and they loved it. There's several walking and hiking trails marked with signs along the driveway up to the cabins. We didn't pack accordingly for the hot tub, but it's open very late! There's a sweet outdoor pool as well. Great place to bring the family in the summertime; pre-book for sure! Johns Country Canteen is only a 15-minute drive from the cabins where we picked up snacks and drinks. There's an NSLC attached to the store which is very convenient. I love the atmosphere. It was definitely difficult to stay only one night. I highly suggest staying two nights minimum! Highly suggest checking these chalets out if you live in or near Nova Scotia, you won't be disappointed.

Showed up to be advised our booking was canceled, although it was still confirmed on my app, and I continue to get rate my checkin, and stay emails from Expedia showing it was not cancelled. Spoke to Expedia confirmed it was not cancelled. But the worse was the service at the front desk during it all, she handed me the email from Expedia stating cancelled, said deal with them and literally walked away. We were given a smaller chalet than we booked, not enough beds for all guests and it clearly wasn’t cleaned/prepped for guests. But there was no compassion or sympathy for the mix up, just attitude and poor customer service. Was my second stay there in a month as I enjoyed the first so much but the front desk service on Saturday will make it my last.

I love this place, although the lodge is starting to look run down. The decks don't feel stable and coffee machines probably need to be replaced. No coffees filters and it tool close to an hour for a full pot to stop brewing.

An amazing experience that we never forget. A hideout in the nature while you have all the modern world in your place. BBQ is easy to use. Clean and cozy. Only little problem is the stairs! If you are a senior, better to sleep downstairs on the convertible sofa bed.

This is a good place for large groups

This is a lovely place well off the beaten path. It's a bit of a drive to the nearest food or amenities. Our room was decent. The pool and play area were modest but clean and well maintained. The jets in our bathtub didn't work, which was disappointing. We were just staying for one night and didn't bring a ton of food with us so didn't use our little kitchen. We were exhausted after a day of driving and just wanted to get a pizza delivered and no one will deliver to this place. This place would be a nice for a group outing or event like a reunion or wedding. If you plan ahead and bring food and come in a large group it is likely really great. For a family seeking a quiet evening of rest it wasn't as convenient. A big group arrived around 9 pm and they were so loud it was hard to sleep. That's not really the fault of management but just know its definitely a feature of this place. It's for big groups to hang out and have a good time.

Perfect mountain retreat

Super friendly staff. Nice and rustic, well off the beaten path — a real hidden gem. Chalet was quite comfortable. Plenty cool on a mild summer evening with the windows open. Beautiful views in all directions. Great for an evening beverage. Mountain bike and walking trails immediately adjacent. Excellent Wifi.

Beautiful property and area but very isolated for an elderly couple. Very friendly and accompanying. Excellent place for a family reunion.
