The property is amazing! I have been traveling to Costa Rica since 1990 and I can tell you Canavida is one of the best values ever. From the initial communication and through the entire stay I was impressed. The condo we stayed at was perfect. Clean, well appointed, ocean views right out the back sliding glass doors, etc. I could go on. This is 100% a place I would highly recommend when in the Dominical/Uvita area. Just make sure to get a 4x4 to make access to the property as it is up the hill a little but do not let that discourage you. It is more than worth it.

Simply amazing

An INCREDIBLE time at Canavida. The area is stunning. The team that runs the resort is fabulous. We stayed at Casa Oropendola. The view of the Pacific was INCREDIBLE. As was the wildlife. The whale tail beach (and national park) is just down the hill and it's amazing. Playa Hermosa is also great (and has lifeguards). Loved the local waterfalls too (just a short drive away). I suggest renting a 4x4. It will make the drive easier. Lots of options for groceries at the bottom of the hill. We stayed for 6 nights and could have happily stayed even longer. FYI, Uvita is used to tourists so you can get around with little/no Spanish.

The property consists of approximately 10 individually designed villas. So, I can only comment on our villa. Almost new, could do with wardrobes or at least more shelving. Access road is 6km along a very uneven dirt track, steep in parts. Managed with a smallish 4x2 SUV, but you would def be better off with a 4x4. Beautiful views, birds and the sunsets were gorgeous.

Found Paradise in Costa Rica!

I have been traveling for pleasure and for work throughout my life. I have been using hotels.com for on average 50+ hotel nights per year last 10 years. And finally, I felt I should leave a very positive review. Canavida Villas & Resort is the first booking where the everything exceeded the expectations. Top Location, service, communication, quality of stay, THE VIEW, the staff, the people, the pool, THE GRILL, the nature... I don't know where to start or to end. Basically images are in most hotel presentations showing a refined view of reality, in this case the nice photos of the property did not reflect the reality, IT WAS EVEN BETTER IRL! If you want to have a weekend or a week at one of the best locations in CR, then you just found it. Yes, it is on a hill = there is a challenging climb with your car, but you can get there with a 2 wheel drive. Uvita as location is also very nice, but why bother to go there except for grocery shopping, this resort is a paradise you don't want to leave!

Canavida is an amazing place and weā€™re really happy we found it. Itā€™s brand new and the owners are slowly building the place out so we were lucky to be one of the first people to stay here. From the start, David had great communication and was super accommodating when our trip was delayed. He also kindly upgraded us to a larger villa and the property was amazing. The living and dining room was spacious and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could need to cook (the sushi and sake set was also a big plus). Having AC in the main rooms was a big plus as it does get hot when the sun enters the property. The best part was definitely the view and the pool - it was a fantastic place to watch the sunset every day. David and Jonathane were helpful throughout our stay, answering any questions we had promptly. They also have great local connections and were able to hook us up with tours and a surf school. The property is about a 10-15 minute drive up a dirt road from the main shops and restaurants of Uvita. We were there in the dry seasons and had no problem doing it in our SUV in 2WD but if it was wet 4WD would probably be needed. David also offered to have someone go down to Uvita for us if we needed something picked up and didnā€™t want to drive into town. Overall we had an amazing stay and would highly recommend Canavida to anyone looking for a place to stay in Uvita!

Absolutely amazing location with stunning views. The property is new, well maintained, clean and has everything to need for your stay. We stayed in the Tucan villa, the pool was perfect and the covered deck was great on warm rainy days. The staff was super friendly and easy to connect with through Whatā€™sApp. Uvita beach is a short drive away, lots of good restaurants nearby. We stayed 12 nights and didnā€™t want to leave! We will definitely come back here if in Costa Rica again.

Beautifully furnished and comfortable condo nestled in a jungle setting overlooking the ocean. Sparkling clean infinity pool, full kitchen, BBQ pit on back patio, excellent service from host and staff. The 5k maintained rock road to get there from main hwy is a bit of a rough drive but well worth it. This was our 5th trip to Costa Rica and we have stayed at many wonderful places- but none as amazing as CanaVida. Only stayed 2 nights- wish we had stayed 2 weeks!

Canavida Villa was amazing! The views were stunning, the space was clean and beautifully designed and the host was incredibly welcoming. We loved every moment.

We drove from Ojochal side and the Google map link took us through the right road side. We eventually did get there. We stayed in Toucan (3 bedroom). The communication was on point. The road is indeed unpaved and it takes us about 15 min. We did have a 4x4 but didnā€™t really need to use the function only when it rained. We did notice the adjoining bedrooms, we can hear each otherā€™s conversation. We were 2 couples and had to decide which rooms would give us more privacy. The place was real nice and cool. Thereā€™s AC in all the bedrooms and living room. The kitchen has most of what youā€™ll need to cook a meal. We couldnā€™t get the AC on and it was immediately addressed. We had to play with the shower to get the right temperature. Itā€™s either very hot water or cold. We didnā€™t get a chance to address this. Weā€™d stay here again. We felt safe and comfortable.

Pure Paradise at Casa OropĆ©ndola ā€“ A Dream Getaway

We stayed at Casa OropĆ©ndola at Canavida Resort from March 31st to April 4th, and it was nothing short of magical. The property is absolutely stunningā€”tucked into the lush hills of Uvita with breathtaking ocean views and surrounded by nature. Waking up to the sound of howler monkeys and tropical birds, then taking a dip in our own private pool while watching the sunriseā€”unreal. The 2-bedroom home is beautifully designed, with a perfect balance of modern comfort and eco-luxury. Everything was spotless and well-equipped, especially the kitchen, which made it easy to enjoy meals at home. We spent most of our time outside on the patio or in the pool, soaking in the peaceful vibes. The location couldnā€™t be better. Itā€™s close to the beaches, waterfalls, and the national park, but still feels totally secluded and serene. The drive up is part of the adventure (definitely recommend a 4x4), and the views are 100% worth it. The hosts were fantasticā€”super responsive and thoughtful, making sure we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. We left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and already planning our return. If you're considering a stay hereā€”do it. You wonā€™t regret it. ā­ļøā­ļøā­ļøā­ļøā­ļø Highly recommend!

Bel endroit et logement bien Ć©quipĆ©. Route dā€™accĆØs de 5km non asphaltĆ©e mais cela reste praticable. Belle vue de la piscine. Avoir conscience que lieu est Ć©quipĆ© de 5 condos donc promiscuitĆ©ā€¦, toutefois sans difficultĆ©s ou nuisance pour nous. En synthĆØse, bon sĆ©jour de 2 nuits et bon rapport qualitĆ© prix.

Traumhafte Location, erst vor einem Jahr fertiggestellt. Jesseca ist sehr nett und kĆ¼mmert sich um das Wohlbefinden. Mega Aussicht und traumhafte GerƤusche des Dschungels. Anfahrt Ć¼ber 4 km Schotterweg teilweise steil bergauf war sehr beschwerlich. Wir konnten den Weg mit 4x4 bewƤltigen. Werden die Zeit dort oben nicht so schnell vergessen
