Our home away from home is perfectly situated on the coast of Rhode Island making it an ideal location.
Enjoy the water, the history, the cuisine & great wineries.
The In-Law Suite with private entrance is great for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids). 30 minutes to Newport & 20 mm to Block Island Ferry. You'll find a fire pit in the yard with Adirondack chairs where you'll able to enjoy the sunset over the pond and the beautiful display of stars at night.
The in-law suite offers the privacy you would expect when renting an entire home . However, the cost is more affordable.
Rental includes full use of yard and outdoor fire pit (also used by owner).
Rental includes exclusive barbecue, outdoor table, exclusive outdoor warm shower, beach chairs, umbrella, coolers, and 3 kayaks.
Walking distance (2 blocks) to pond where you can enjoy kayaking, clamming or just watch the sunset.
Kids can ride their bikes up and down block or play in back yard.
Enjoy a short walk to the beach, is just under a mile away.

Clean, Quiet, Lovely

This in-law suite in a beautiful Charlestown home is ideal for decompressing and getting to the beach easily. I highly recommend this lovely, easy place to stay.

Family Grad trip

The home and property were amazing . Beautiful and user friendly. Our family enjoyed the fire pit outside and the beautiful yard. Check in was easy and so was check out. The beach down the road was beautiful we enjoyed flying kites and looking for shells. I would recommend this home to anyone wanting a relaxing trip in Rhode Island. Thank you for letting us enjoy your home. 10 out of 10 with everything !!

Superb property!!!

Was a very quiet restful vacation !!! Linda was a pleasure to communicate with. The house had everything and more !!! So comfortable and cozy. Very quiet home with central air . Beautifully yet simply decorated . Highly recommend to any family looking to enjoy the quiet charm of Charles Town in a lovely comfortable home .

Blue Shutters Dream!

We enjoyed our stay at Linda and Larry’s home. The outdoor shower was glorious. The property was clean and well kept. The house was stocked with everything you would need for a weeks stay. We enjoyed entertaining in the yard and using the fire pit with the kids to make s’mores. The beds were comfortable and you can’t beat the location. Larry and Linda are very friendly and checked in on us but also let us have our privacy. We will be back!

Delightful location

We stayed 4 nights on a holiday weekend. The first two nights it was quiet and serene. The property owners’ family arrived and it became loud and felt claustrophobic at times. I had not anticipated so many people sharing the property. The location, neighborhood and owners are all good.

Centrally located and good for day trips

The property is central to Mystic and Newport which is great if you are planning day trips. You can then spend the evening/afternoon at the town beach or walking in the neighborhood. There was not a highchair or crib as mentioned in previous posts, so I would make sure to check with the owner of you relying on that. Overall a quiet neighborhood and the property met our needs and expectations.

Spacious and Sparkling Clean

This 3Br apartment was perfect for our family of 4. It was very nicely decorated and welcoming. Linda also responded quickly to any of our questions. The kitchen was well equipped and there were plenty of towels and supplies for the bathroom. We also enjoyed sitting by the fire pit one evening. We highly recommend this home away from home to anyone looking for a relaxing place near the beaches.

Fall Quonnie/Ninigret Get Away

We had a delightful fall 2-day retreat in a very neat, clean and well organized in-law suite. Very cozy, yet roomy. Linda, our host, was very congenial with wonderful dining suggestions. She was very helpful if needed, yet not intrusive in the least.

RI Family Friendly Beach Getaway

Immaculate, spacious 3 bedroom with full kitchen and bath. Less than an hour drive to Newport. Walking distance to the beach. Kayaks, kids toys, and family games are complimentary. There‘s even a crib and highchair if you need one. WiFi and television, also. Lots of family friendly restaurants nearby, as well as a grocery store. Super safe street with speed bumps.

Wonderful!

This is our 3rd stay here and we had so much fun. We enjoy the beach, the kayaking, the local markets and Newport is not too far. Our beagle feels like it is home. Linda is a great host!

Clean and Comfortable

It was a very nice place to stay. Peace and quiet. Short drive to the beach. Lots of good restaurants nearby. My dog had so much fun playing with their dogs. Very nice neighborhood.

Heaven away from the city

This was our second time staying here, and it was even better than the first now that we know our way around a bit better. This is such a wonderful respite away from the city!! The place is immaculate, a medium walk or quick bike ride/drive to the beach, and close to all the options for exploring the area. They also have an amazing grill and a fire pit in their beautifully kept backyard, and that’s a huge draw for my husband and I. Linda couldn’t be more wonderful & accommodating. I’d recommend staying here to anyone. Learn from us, though, and rent a car if you don’t own one already. Ride sharing is spotty and car services add up very quickly. For this second trip, my husband and I took the Amtrak to New London where ride sharing is much more readily available and rented from the local Hertz (other options are available too). It’s only a 30 minute drive to the property with grocery options along the way. It worked perfectly both there and back, and we were able to take in so much more having the car on-hand. Definitely repeating for our next visit. :)

Stranded

While I would love to tell you about the property, I can not. Our host had plenty of wifi to request payment several times 10+ days before our final payment was due, but no wifi to send our checkin detail/instructions. My husband and I along with our 2 dogs, traveled from Maryland to Vermont and then to Rhode Island. We left Vermont directly following a 1/2 marathon. We arrived in Rhode Island with no check in instructions. VRBO was unable to get in touch with the host. My little family had to try to find a hotel for the night, that accepted dogs, and was close yo the start/finish of the second 1/2 marathon we were running that weekend. We were tired, hungry, and in desperate need of a shower. We spent several hours that we should have been resting trying to find a place to sleep for the night. The host responded in the middle of the night and has offered us a free weekend. Just not during their busy season. No thanks. I’m not driving back to Rhode Island to see if you’re home.

Best family vacation!

I really don't know where to begin, Lynda's house is amazing! By far the best trip to Rhode Island. The house is perfect for a family and has all the amenities that are needed. The backyard is amazing with an perfect fireplace for roasting s'mores. Lynda and Larry are amazing hosts and are able to help with any requests. The ocean is less than a mile away and Lynda provides access to private beach parking and private beach access. Having two young kids and trying to get out of the house is a hassle. Specially if you're trying to do so to get to a beach in time. The beach parking in RI always fill up very early. This private parking was perfect. I cannot say enough about our stay in this amazing home. Wish we had more time, we will def be returning. God Bless

Second time stay

This is our second time staying here and it was wonderful. We enjoy kayaking on the pond and the private beach is especially helpful on a busy holiday weekend. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils and pots and pans, the backyard is lovely and has a table with umbrella, a Weber grill, fire pit, and fresh herbs! Linda and family are very accommodating and we appreciate being able to bring our dog.

Great clean space in a great location

Our family was extremely happy with the cleanliness, location, and layout of this space. It worked so well for us travelling with a 3-year old. They have a crib and highchair available. Of note, the crib is in the main bedroom, the only one suitable for 2 people in the same bed. So, we opted to use a pack and play, but 1 of the other rooms was plenty large enough for that. The kitchen is quite well laid out, considering the size of the space and worked great for us to have low-key meals as a family. The owners are very accommodating and are quick to offer to share things like their backyard space and kayaks. Those are really nice extras during a relaxing stay in RI! Of note: The owners do have dogs, who will give a friendly bark when you come and go. Our daughter is uneasy about dogs, so it was scary for her. This is not the sort of barking dog that would be upsetting to older kids or adults though; they're extremely sweet dogs. Also on noise, you're fairly nested in the owner's house and the walls are fairly transparent to noise. In my experience, they weren't particularly noisy, but you do hear dinner conversations and walking around.

Nice spot with access to many beautiful spots in the area

A very comfortable place with a short walk to the pond and beach. Being part of a larger house with the owner living there was not an issue given they are nice friendly people who give you your space. Sound proofing is not great between the unit and the main house but for the price and location it is well worth it.
