This 1,680 sf home on a wooded lot in a rural subdivision is within walking distance of the Brazos River. 3 bedroom 2 bath home with large decks on both the front and back where guests enjoy the cool mountain air and views of the surrounding 3 acre wooded lot. Fully furnished with with a large kitchen, laundry facility, and a 12' x 24' fenced area for your pet. This owner offers a deep discount for weekly stays. There is a separate 3 bedroom apartment on site that is not included in the rental.

Easy to find, clean and comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked and the beds are comfortable with nice linens. Thank you for a great weekend away from fireworks for our fraidy dogs. We loved the covered porch and chairs for hanging out and grilling on the front porch - it was lovely.

What a wonderful time in this beautiful place.In the morning we had visit of some deers, the bird ‘s songs and amazing sunrise. It’s implacable house: clean, organized and lovely. Thanks a lot for allowing us to have enjoyed moments and great time with my parents in adventure group.

Great getaway

The home is super clean, well stocked kitchen, wonderful porch. We had a wonderful time being in the quiet and enjoyed the 4th of July fireworks in town. The home was perfect!

Peaceful and clean

This was perhaps the cleanest vacation rental we've ever stayed in. The cabin is located in a quiet mountain neighborhood, and everyone we interacted with was very friendly. It was a short walk to the river which had decent fishing for Rainbow trout.

Relaxing getaway

This property is spectacular. It is private and cozy. We enjoyed the town of Chama during the day and then enjoyed the evening together at the cabin. We will definitely be back.

Chama CabinThe cabin was very clean and well stocked. The kitchen in particular had more than almost any kitchen of any VRBO we’ve stayed in. The beds were firm but overall they were comfortable. We were there during a heat wave with highs in the 90s and lows in the upper 60s so the fans were essential to keep us comfortable. The main issue we had was the wifi which was almost non existent for us. This was a problem because we had left our older teen daughter at home and she couldn’t reach us the first night when we arrived because the wifi router wasn’t on and we had no cell service with TMmobile. Even once the router was functioning, I would consider this cabin a place without internet. It was very unreliable, disconnecting every few minutes. Overall it is a lovely place with a nice covered front porch. We saw deer, birds, a cute orange cat, and we even saw a bear on our way to fish! There are 2 river access points within a mile of the cabin which was great! We didn’t catch much but that is likely because of the drought with low water levels. We would stay here again and recommend it to others!

Best place to stay

This property is located within 20 minutes of anywhere you would like to go in the Chama surrounding area. Surrounded by forest, we saw an incredible amount of wildlife from a short distance away. Easy access and very clean that supports a wonderful environment

Relxaing retreat in the middle of summer.

This place was amazing. We enjoyed a refreshing relaxing week at the cabin. Plenty of deer and wildlife to keep us entertained while enjoying the awesome patios. The additional apartment was a huge bonus for us. The host was fantastic!

Clean and cute

This place was really nice. There are many different beds plenty of room for large groups. . My family liked it as well. The host was also very kind every time she messaged me. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Get-Away!

The house is perfect, Valerie was very responsive...will definitely stay there again! I loved the thoughtful touches, such as salt and pepper, coffee, creamer, etc being available. Love!!!

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

My husband Lee has a life long passion for elk hunting. He first came here in 1978, hunted many other places over the years, but continued to be drawn back to the Chama Valley area time and again and eventually bought property here in the Brazos Canyon. We had a 2nd home here and later became full time residents in what he calls his "favorite place in the whole United States".

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

The pace is slower here in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Elevation is 8,000 ft and we enjoy an ideal climate with 4 distinct seasons. There is snow in the winter, summers are cool, with very little wind. Most days the sun shines, so combined with the dry climate, it's usually comfortable outdoors. The home has radiant heat under the floors for the winter and we don't even need air-conditioning here in the cool mountains.
