EXCEPTIONAL SETTING: your private gite in a character house in Normandy

This 16th century house, restored with respect for the architecture of the time, includes a 3-room gîte of 90 m², this gîte has an independent private entrance, a large living-dining room and open kitchen which allows very friendly, rooms with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside and very practical laundry room. The small garden is a plus when the weather is nice it invites to laze around .. the walks are assured with, the stage in the forest (tree climbing) at 5 minutes, the city of Villedieu-les-poêles city of crafts and history and its bell foundry 10 minutes away, Mont-Saint-Michel 50 minutes, and the landing beaches about an hour by car.

The tenants are completely independent, and have at their disposal the necessary for the kitchen, as well as the dishwasher, the washing machine and dryer.

Upstairs: two bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with two single beds. A bathroom with shower and sink, separate toilet.

we lend a cot. On request, we can also lend a high chair, a baby bath, and a changing mat. Please let us know in advance.
There is a supermarket, bakeries, butchers, delicatessens open between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., several are also open on Sunday morning. These stores are located 3 km from the cottage, you will find everything you need.

The perfect bolthole for 4 people. A lovely property in a beautiful peaceful rural setting yet perfectly placed to visit so many sites. The owners were very accommodating but left us alone to enjoy our stay but on-hand if you need them. Lovely house with lovely rooms and a nice private garden to relax in after a day at the beach or sightseeing. We would definitely stay here again and would not hesitate to recommend the property to others. It is very good value for money.

The gite was so clean and well equipped. The bedding smelled lovely and freshly laundered. Shower good size and easy to use. Hosts friendly and unobtrusive. Rural area close to farm. Near to plenty things. We enjoyed beaches, markets, chateau gardens, zoo and towns Vire and Dinan to name a few. Spiral staircase leads upstairs to bedrooms. The gite had plenty private garden areas and a place for outside dining as well.

Excellent stay!

We had a excellent stay with our 2 years old daughter here. The location is remote in French country side. Our daughter enjoyed watching cows in the field.

The perfect,quiet, warm and cosy gite

The property is ideally situated for both a walking and sightseeing holiday. It is very well equipped with lots of information about local activities, with a well stocked kitchen making it easy to eat at home. Thank you hosts definitely 5* !

Excellent gite in quiet countryside

An excellently equipped gite in the French countryside. Clean and comfortable and an ideal base from which to explore. We visited the D Day landing beaches, Bayeux, Avranches, Villedieu.

A perfect holiday

There are so many good things we could say about our stay in this beautiful and peaceful gite. It was our aim to find a quite place to rest and recharge, and we certainly found it here. An excellently well equiped 'home from home', with a warm welcome from Brigitte and Daniel and the best shower you could wish for. We can't wait to return.

A peaceful retreat, and lovely owners.

We really like this gite. Peaceful location, perfect for relaxation and local area is pretty with lots of nice villages and scenic drives. The weather is unpredictable, so an upgrade to the indoor seating would be nice for more comfort on rainy days. Overall, it's great!

Property was clean, fully equipped, very pretty garden, quiet area. Host was very friendly. Property could benefit from fly screens at windows and door. The double bed was a little on the short side even for 5ft 9” tall! Wrong Wi-Fi code on Vrbo app so check the code at the property. Overall an enjoyable stay.

France in March

We stayed in this wonderful gite for the month of March and it fulfilled all our expectations. It was well equipped, especially the laundry facilities, immaculately clean, lovely and warm and comfortable. It was an ideal location for us to walk into the nearby town of St-Sever and to drive to Vire and Villedieu-des-Poeles. The owners Brigitte and Daniel were very welcoming and helpful and the perfect hosts. We would thoroughly recommend a stay here.

Great gite in a beautiful area

The gite was lovely, very clean and had everything we needed in it. It was in beautiful, peaceful surroundings and yet fairly close to a small local town. We had clear directions on how to get to it from the owner and good communication before our stay. I've marked communication as a 4 - purely because we need to improve our french so we could communicate with the owners more!

Wonderful house in the country

This was a wonderful and peaceful place to stay at. The house was very clean and nicely decorated. It was obvious that this place was well taken care of. The host was very helpful and we would happily stay here again. Note that the online picture of the entrance to the house is on the side of the house facing away from the road. This made us a little uncertain when first trying to find the house,

Beautiful, quiet gite in lovely area

Had a lovely week in this pretty gite, we very much enjoyed the nearby cows and the absolute peace and quiet. The owners were nearby but not at all intrusive, and very helpful. The gite is ideally situated for visiting lots of nearby towns and places of interest. We visited Arromanches, the DDay beaches and museums, we also loved the nearby towns of Vire and Villedieu-les-Poêles. The gite had everything necessary for a good stay and the beds were very comfortable too. We hope to return in future. Thank you so much.

A peaceful, rural location

This was a lovely, quiet spot. The space downstairs was great, and the bathroom good (especially the shower). The downside was the kitchen - a vast quantity of crockery, cutlery and glassware but little ‘cooking equipment’. A few small saucepans without lids, no baking trays etc. You might also want to bring your own bath towels. Lots of towels provided but absolutely tiny and thin!

Thank you for taking the time to rate your stay. Indeed I regret having forgotten to put the cake pan and the pie pan back in the cupboard. There are 4 saucepans, 1 pressure cooker and 2 frying pans at your disposal, I will add a slow cooker. I will also add 4 larger and thicker bath towels. I hope you enjoyed your stay (which you told us when handing over the keys) and see you soon for your next stay in Normandy.

This Gite is the Best

This is the best Gites we have ever stayed in. It's attractive, very well maintained, both inside and out and outstandingly well equipted. Everything you need and more. The equipment is modern and it all works. Extras like herbs for cooking, hand washing cream, salt, pepper, vinegar and olive oil for the table. Plus a vase of dress cut flowers on the dining table. This all adds up to a very good first impresion. When Brigitte was asked for help or assistance she gave it willingly. Would we recommend it? Without reservation.

Relajada

Amplia y bien equipada casa. Gran salon/comedor y 2 habitaciones + cuarto de baño en el primer piso al que se accede con una escalera de caracol. Privacidad, tranquilidad y todo lo necesario para pasar unos días pinolvidables recorriendo la region. Muy recomendable.
