Looking for a cozy getaway in the "Moose Viewing Capital of Colorado"? Welcome to the Majestic Moose Cabin! This 380-square-foot retreat is located in town, newly refinished while still showcasing the character and charm of its historic roots. The open one-room layout includes a full bathroom, cozy kitchenette, dining space, and a comfortable living area. Sleeping arrangements feature a custom-built queen Murphy bed and queen sleeper sofa, making it a perfect stay for couples or a small family.

Enjoy your fresh caught trout and/or some elk steaks in the backyard on the BBQ grill! Or, if cooking isn't your specialty, the cabin is within walking distance to local restaurants/bars!

While you are in Walden, be sure to keep an eye out for one of our majestic moose!

*No smoking/vaping/marijuana use is allowed in the cabin. *
**Dogs welcome (maximum of 2) with prior approval and agreement to Pet Addendum. $25 pet fee.**

Great location! Just around the corner from Main Street with restaurants, shops, convenience and liquor stores. Squeezed into a small lot but they've done as much as they can with that, and once you are inside it is charming and the best equipped rental I've ever seen. (Loved the Keurig hot chocolate.) The place was actually larger than I expected, based on the lot size and photos. Definitely recommend staying here. We didn't see moose (probably because it was hunting season) but if you are here on a clear night, drive a little ways out of town to see the stars - it's amazing. First time I've seen the Milky Way in years! The locals were so friendly - several stopped when we were star-gazing to make sure we hadn't had car trouble. And definitely visit the Pioneers Museum behind the courthouse - it has everything you can image and lots of things I'd never seen before.

Such a cozy little (?) space. We loved it! So impressed with the innovative and creative use of space. I think the use of space alone is worth staying here. Inspirational. Close to so many things we love to do in the Colorado mountains.Spent our 25th anniversary here and it was a perfect place for us. Definite thumbs up.

A perfect spot for a simple getaway. Everything was clean and cozy, and we did end up seeing a moose while out here! Mindy was kind and communicative, and Walden is a cute little town. We ventured just outside of town and stargazed in perfect skies.

We had a wonderful stay at the Majestic Moose House in Walden. It was perfect for my husband and me during our visit to State Forest State Park. Mindy thought of everything from oatmeal pouches for breakfast, an outdoor firepit, a very comfortable bed, an assortment of pots and pans if you choose to cook, coffee and teas, ice in freezer (seriously, not all places do this for you). The communications was excellent the house was super clean and my favorite...it was decorated with a moose theme!!! Would definitely reccomend this place!!!!

Great location

The cabin is in a great location, walkable to anything in town. It's small but workable if you have no more than 2 people. The bathroom sink is teeny, and the kitchen is also very small with no dish drainer. If you require air conditioning, make sure the unit is clean (it was very dusty when we were there). Other than that, it's probably one of the best options in Walden, and Mindy was incredibly responsive and a good host.

Owner was very kind, very responsive to requests. Getting the access code was too time consuming. TV was difficult to work. Unit was very nicely decorated. Our stay was very adequate.

Mindy was such a lovely host who provided prompt and awesome communication! We appreciated the local scoop on Harrison the moose. This cabin was amazing and had everything we needed. The details in the cabin were all very thoughtful. The kitchen had a great variety of appliances and kitchen tools to use, the bed was comfy, the cabin clean and we love that the cabin is dog friendly! It is close and walking distance to the small town which is nice. We give five stars to Mindy and the cabin itself! We gave three stars on the one location rating only because it would be nice if there was a more scenic view right around the cabin and there were lots of cars going in and out around the restaurants / businesses around the cabin throughout the day/night. We would recommend this cabin to anyone staying in the Walden area!

Early Christmas in the mountains.

My partner's sister and family could come down for Christmas, so we took Christmas to them. The Cabin was cute, and decorated for Christmas. Walden was all decked out. Easy to walk around the town.

Amazing little cabin

This has just what you need for a mountain getaway. Beds, bathroom and kitchen. The owner was able to accommodate us getting into the cabin early on check in date. Great communication and very clean and cozy cabin. We will be back.

Moose Themed Cabin

The cabin was adorably decorated and the small space was organized so well! The bed was very comfortable. Everything you needed was supplied. Many wildlife viewing opportunities and trails nearby. You are close to several mountain ranges. Saw great sunsets! Can't be beat for comfort and great communication with the owners.

We moved to Walden 26 years ago from the cornfields of Nebraska and the wheat fields of Kansas! It has since become our home. We are so thankful to have been able to raise our 2 boys in such an amazing place!

We love to go Jeeping, ride our Harley, and watch college football!

I love the charm and coziness of the cabin! It is within walking distance to the local restaurants and bars...and just minutes away from peace and quiet.
