This is an amazing quiet and secluded home, yet close to all amenities the Berkshires have to offer. Organized and well stocked kitchen allow you to cook and enjoy the deck/hot tub overlooking the tranquil pond. We stayed for 2 nights and didn't want to leave!

Everything it was promised to be and then some! Excellent stay: clean home, beautiful property, fantastic amenities. Location is super convenient to downtown areas and Butternut Ski Resort. Well-equipped with: towels, linens, dishware, firewood, grill & gas, washer/dryer.

Great vacation

The home was clean and beautiful, much nicer than the pictures. Our vacation was peaceful and relaxing, the hot tub was great.

Perfect stay

Just spent a lovely weekend with family and friends in the perfect weekend getaway home. The house is in an idyllic location, close to many wonderful places to visit in the beautiful Berkshires. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet and restful respite.

Heron House

Beautiful house and property. Quick access to hiking trails, skiing, and restaurants. One of my all time favorite houses on VRBO. Must visit.

Tranquil Berkshire Retreat

A beautiful private setting within minutes of endless Berkshire Mountains activities. The house was equipped with everything you need and was spotless. Having a pet friendly property was an added bonus!

Winter Wonderland

We had the most relaxing week at Emily & Selom’s beautiful property. Highlights were scrabble by the fire, sunset in the hot tub and a visit to downtown Great Barrington.

Lovely stay at Heron House

We had a spectacular Memorial Day weekend at Heron House in the Berkshires. What a wonderful house on a beautiful small lake with complete privacy. And right in the heart of the Berkshires, close to everything! House is immaculate, beautiful decorating and wonderful porch overlooking the lake. We look forward to our next stay at Heron House.

Idyllic cabin getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our family getaway at this property. The home was clean, well appointed, conveniently located and the surrounding grounds were beautiful. The owners were responsive and helpful. I’d highly recommend.

Heron Hiuse

This is the second time we’ve stayed at the Herin House! If you’re looking for a relaxing, charming and we-energizing stay, this is the place! The tranquility of sitting in front of the fireplace while overlooking the pond is exactly what the doctor ordered! We absolutely plan on making this an annual event!

Wonderful stay

We had such a wonderful getaway at Heron House. The location is perfect - the property itself is private with lots to do (canoeing! fishing! hot tubbing) but close to so many activities if you want to get out and about. My family (young children and dog included) had a great time. Thank you Emily and Selom!

This was about the best last-minute booking we could have asked for. The location, the property, and the home were just what we needed to decompress for a long weekend. Our family - kids, parents, nana, and pups - all found something to love inside and outside. Plus, the location has a very rare mix of quiet solitude (including great views of the stars!) and exceptional convenience to the best of the Berkshires. Emily, the host, and Ken, the caretaker, were both super responsive and exceptionally nice. All of the amenities were fully functional (not to be taken for granted early in the season), and were as described in the listing (also not to be taken for granted some times). The mechanics of the rental process worked smoothly and made the whole experience easy.All in all, the best recommendation that we can give is that we would rent again, and that certainly applies to this property.

A slice of heaven

When we saw the photos of this listing, we thought it was too good to be true. We were so happy to find that the property was even better in person than in the photos. The pond and house are exceptional. It was the perfect spot to relax and unwind for the weekend. We will definitely be looking to come back in the future!

Spectacular setting

We’ve stayed several places in the Berkshires and this one takes the prize. The house is well set up for a group, with spacious common area that’s open to the kitchen. Your own private pond on 10 wooded acres is what really sets this place apart. We swam, canoed, bird-watched, and enjoyed the beauty of the fall colors. The location is also convenient to everything. The host was extremely helpful in responding to a minor issue. Highly recommend Heron House!

Everything we hoped for!

This property delivers on all of its promises! The setting was as beautiful as a postcard, our dogs loved running around the property which they could do because there were no close neighbors, the house immediately felt like home, and despite being remote had all the modern conveniences. The private lake was a blast and we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. The on-property trails were well maintained and we enjoyed the hike. Emily was very responsive to any questions we had. A++, we will definitely be back!

November Getaway

Having a long weekend to relax and recharge was the goal. The Heron House did not disappoint. This is the 3rd year in a row that we’ve stayed here. Emily couldn’t be more responsive as an owner. Lee, Stockbridge, Lenox and Great Barrington are all just 25 minutes away. Plenty of restaurants and shopping are close by. Sitting in the living room at night with a roasting fire in the fireplace with a glass of wine was the perfect way to end the day! We will be back!
