Our second time staying here for our visit to the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Rooms were lovely and clean and beds were comfortable, really needed after a couple of long days! Welcome basket was much appreciated and basics like milk, coffee and tea were provided. Lovely area and definitely a property to keep on our list for when we visit the area again

Great hosts Lucy and rob , clean and a haven for kids with lots of games, puzzles etc . Really good for surrounding visits , Portsmouth , Chichester , etc and good pubs with one a short walk from property , also for us the added bonus of an ev charger .would highly recommend

We had a wonderful time. Lucy is absolutely lovely. She was so thoughtful and thought to remove anything that could be a choking hazard for my 2 year old. She even bought treats for my girls to have and lovely croissants and coffee. The property is lovely and you can see how much effort and time they have put in to making it a lovely and comfortable place to stay. It has everything you could possibly need, including lots of information on the local area and toys and games for kids. The property is beautifully decorated and so environmentally friendly, which I loved. Their garden is gorgeous and has lots of space for children and dogs as well as swings and slides. They have a gorgeous dog called Daisy who is so chilled and very friendly and gentle. Lucy was available and communicative but not the least bit invasive. We ended up not staying for the full two nights as our plans changed, and Lucy gave me a part refund, which was so generous given how much time and effort it must take to prepare for guests. Thank you Lucy! We will see you again

My daughter & I stayed for two nights. We were attending a running event at Midhurst only a 20 min drive away.The cottage was perfect for us. Clean, quiet, homely & comfortable & Lucy was a lovely host.The cottage would be ideal for a family too with plenty of games & books etc to keep children occupied.

Goodwood FoS 2025

Stayed here for Goodwood Festival of Speed. Great location for the festival and a very nice cottage.

A lovely place in a pretty garden.

Great place!

We enjoyed staying here very much! The owner was very helpful and responsive to my questions. Everything was as advertised. My adult son and I stayed here, but I can see it being a great place for a couple or family to go.

Fantastic for families!

The home was spacious and clean. The homeowner helped my family feel at home and provided us with so many children’s books, toys, and activities. Fantastic stay! Highly recommend for anyone in the area.

Splendide location

The house was very spacious and so lovely. We enjoyed the garden, the veranda, and the beds were very confortable. Thanks to Lucy for such a wonderful stay.

Brilliant

From arrival to departure we had a great stay. Our 4 year old loved the selection of toys and we certainly enjoyed the breakfast treats. Would definitely come back and recommend.

Lovely short break

The property had everything we wanted, and lots more. Very spacious and comfortable. Ours was a summer visit, but the property is well equipped would be equally attractive and comfortable through the colder, darker months.

Great stay at the Stable Xmas 2022

The Victorian Cottage Stable was probably the best self-catering accommodation we have ever stayed in. There was fresh straw on the floor (only kidding) and very, very comfortable. Would reccomend to anyone.

Victorian cottage in Liss

We had a lovely stay in the cottage. The communication with the owner was excellent. She really went out of her way to make things as pleasant as could be, the kindest person you can think of. The cottage was large, there was a nice garden, our dog could roam free, and played with the dog of the owner. Nice bath facilities. One of the nicest stays we ever had, due to the people who run it!

Our Summer holiday in the South Downs

We had a lovely week at Lucy's place. Its location is good, given its proximity to hiking trails, cultural sights, the beach and even London. The house itself is comfortable, especially the bedroom. For kids, there is an abundance of toys. Last but not least, Lucy was most welcoming and very helpful to find our way around Liss. We would recommend this place to anyone.

Perfect for our short stay

Really impressed with location of property (we attended Goodwood Festival of Speed). Instructions provided were easy to follow and were correct. House was lovely and clean and had everything we needed. The kids played for hours with the provided toys and the welcome basket was a lovely touch. The beds were really comfortable and perfect after a long day walking. This will be our first port of call the next time we are in the area and we could have easily stayed longer.

This is a beautiful cottage set in a lovely garden with many interesting features. The property is well situated to access the many walks in woodlands in this stunning area. The cottage itself has lovely decor, comfortable and extremely clean and tidy with the owners including features (books, childrens books etc, lots of information on nearby areas to visit) to make the stay as enjoyable as possible. Communication with the owners was very easy. Lovely property and great stay!
