All Season Vermont Vacation Cottage. Pet Friendly!

Sunset Cottage has been described by people who have visited as quaint, cozy, romantic, bright, peaceful, relaxing. There is one bedroom downstairs and additional sleeping in the loft area. This fully furnished cottage has lots of light with 2 picture windows on the first floor and one on the second facing South and West with great views of the open fields, trees and the Green Mountains. The cottage has a cathedral ceiling with a large loft area that is a TV/Sitting area and can be used as a sleeping area. There is a Vermont Castings gas stove which heats the cottage with additional heat in the bathroom, which has a tub/shower and washer/dryer. Downstairs also is the living room/ kitchen area. The kitchen is complete with a full size refrigerator, gas stove with oven, microwave, coffee pot, etc. Linens are provided. Nearby are country stores, fine dining, churches, libraries, post office, groceries, beverages. and several micro breweries, including the Hillstead Farm Brewery in nearby Greensboro.
Winter Sports:
Cross Country skiing, snow shoeing, skating at the nearby Craftsbury Outdoor Center.
Summer Sports: Craftsbury Outdoor Center provides bike rentals. Also the cross country ski trails are used for biking trails. The Center also provides professional sculling lakes and instructions.
Your dog/dogs are welcome!
Snow Mobile: We are located by the trail! Park your trailer and you can ride from Sunset Cottage.

Host communication was great. Location absolutely perfect for biking the best loops in the area. Close enough to the Craftsbury center to see friends , enjoy the trails , and eat several great meals there .

This is a sweet cottage with eclectic, comfortable furnishings and interesting artwork. The downstairs bedroom is small but workable. The cottage is set back off a dirt/gravel road where there was some seasonal agricultural traffic, but not overly busy. We live in an agricultural area ourselves and this seemed normal to us. We did not have cell service - we have Verizon which does not work here. This was a plus as far as we were concerned. We would definitely go back.

The bedroom was teeny with the bed that filled the whole room, and the bed sloped into the middle. The bathroom had an OK shower and tub, but the toilet was built for a midget .The TV was upstairs and should’ve been downstairs somewhere.The property was way out in the boondocks. It was quiet except for the traffic speeding up and down the dirt road.

What a lovely experience. You don't even notice the cabin driving by it. On a nice remote Road. Beautifully groomed lawn, our dogs had an awesome time playing fetch. The cabin itself is extremely spacious and well equipped with everything that you need in a regular house. Washer and dryer is a huge perk when when we're hiking all weekend with dogs.

Beautiful cottage, very private, very quiet, rustic but well kitted-out. John was exceptionally helpful, and saved the day when we had an emergency passport delivery. Bed was only issue. Not great for two people, felt smaller than a queen, and had a divot in the middle. Probably not as much of an issue for others but I’m not the best sleeper and it was very noticeable to me. Would also encourage replacing the cookware- mostly older nonstick pans with the coating coming off. But otherwise loved the property. Thank you for the great stay!

Thank-you for your comments. The bed is a standard double bed. I have not had any comments or complaints about the mattress in the past. I will check out the cookware and replace what's needed.

I’ve stayed at this cottage a few times and it’s always great! Cozy on the inside, plenty of yard space for dogs to enjoy, quiet location but close to stores and restaurants. The location is great to explore all of Northern Vermont, and the host is very responsive and helpful!

John is a great host and super easy to communicate with. His cottage is perfect for me and my dog to explore the great outdoors in the Craftsbury-Greenboro area. The cottage is also very close to two great general stores, the Genny in Craftsbury and Willey’s in Greensboro. The cottage has all the amenities you need to stay as long as you want and also has a great yard just to hang outside and play with your dog.

This was a wonderful find! Spacious, quiet, and clean--what more could you ask for. The host got back to me within 10 minutes when I had a question. Our dog loved the space he had outside just to be a dog. We will definitely put this one on our list of places to come back to.

The cottage was super relaxing- we loved that there were woods around the property but not too much to be concerned about wildlife. The Genny in town was amazing!

Great Layout. Bedroom is pretty squished with the full bed taking most of the floor space. Water pump is quite loud when in the bedroom. But there is lots of other space. Comfy bed. Comfy seating. Everything you need in kitchen. Place was quite clean. Perfect for a couple.
