4 wheel drive never needed here!! Come, enjoy total privacy, including no contact self check-in, at this immaculate cabin in the Nantahala National Forest!

Don't miss out on this dream of a vacation cabin!! Enjoy the seclusion of a creekside mountain retreat in this 2 bedroom, 2 bath cabin with private hot tub.
The property borders the beautiful Nantahala National Forest of the Great Smoky Mountains and offers an abundance of exploration. Let the sounds of the rushing waters soothe your soul day and night. Walk across our bridge to enjoy bonfires or even pitch a tent for the night on our property across the river which is lit by festive cafe lights strung around the campfire. Hike through the Nantahala National Forest right out the backdoor. Or if you prefer the creature comforts, enjoy the fully equipped kitchen, comfortable new beds (King and Queen), new gas logs in our stone fireplace, Wi-Fi, large flat screen TV in the den and another in the King Bedroom with Dish Programming. Read a book or just gaze at the river from the sunroom/sleep porch with its comfortable oversized chairs and sofa which opens into a queen sleeper sofa. Enjoy family dining at the large dining table beautifully made of reclaimed barnwood.

Conveniently located on the Wayah Road section of Mountain Waters Scenic Byway, a paved road, the home is easily accessible even during inclement weather. We're just far enough out of downtown Franklin (8 miles) to be secluded yet we're directly on the way to Wayah Bald, Nantahala Outdoor Center, Lake Nantahala and The Appalachian Trail. Franklin/Macon County has 16 local water falls, world renown gem mining, and numerous biking and hiking trails including the Appalachian Trail and Bartram Trail. Grocery shopping and restaurants are less than 10 minutes away. A quick 15 minutes to downtown Franklin you'll find antique shops, local crafts, restaurants, entertainment and two locally owned Micro Brewery Pubs. Adventures are abundant in every direction - or you may choose to never leave once you've arrived!

Beautiful Cabin on an Amazing Creek; centrally located!

We had a great stay, only critique would be additional electrical outlets or electrical strips added. Didn’t seem to be a ton of electrical outlets. Otherwise such an amazing place, we will look to book exact same place in the future.

Visit to Franklin NC for hiking adventures

A planned weekend away from the hustle and bussle of work life. We hiked on part of the Appalachian Trail, to experience Wayah Bald, Wesser Fire Tower and saw many waterfalls. Franklin is one of our favorite places to visit. The locals are extremely nice. There is so much to see and do. We are actually looking forward to becoming transplants to Franklin one day in the future.

Beautiful Property

We enjoyed our relaxing stay at this property. The home was private, quaint and the perfect escape for our family. Lots of great hiking in the area but still convenient to groceries and places to eat.

Overall, very satisfied.

Only issue was unable to make phone calls from cell phone. Could text but to make. calls. Was advertised there was a landline, but there was not.Very nice place though.

Right on the Creek!

LOVED that it was right on the creek as advertised!!!!! Easy drive up - we backed in to park as trying to back out onto the paved road was nerve racking ( for me , not for my husband ;) ) will stay again!!!

Cozy Creekside Cabin

The backyard was absolutely amazing, perfect in every way!! We loved playing in the creek and sitting by the fire. Drinking my coffee on the deck, listening to the creek was perfect!! The cabin was super cozy and the beds were so comfortable.

Amazing Place to Relax

My husband and I had a wonderful time! The home was very cozy and beautiful! Very convenient to town, but also private. The backyard was a paradise in itself! The host was very easy to communicate with and very nice. I would definitely recommend this beautiful piece of heaven!!!!

A good place to stay!

We enjoyed our stay in this comfortable cabin. The porch was used a lot during the day when we were not outside or traveling around the mountains. The kitchen was nicely appointed with everything you might need, including a new set of pots and pans. The bridge to the other side of the creek was a good idea. Plan on staying again

We really enjoyed the creek that runs behind the house. You can sleep in the back bedroom with the windows open listen to it flowing to fall asleep. The living room furniture is so much more comfortable than any other cabin we have stayed in. Looks like the owner is working on modernising it, the decking and windows seem new. Overall a comfortable quite place to stay with grocery stores and restaurants approximately 15 miles away.

Wonderful property

We had a great experience. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Check in was great. The running stream follows the whole property. The sounds of that stream and a cup of morning coffee go hand in hand. Cabin was well stocked. Pictures of property are spot on. Highly suggest this property. Very private. Fire pit area is a good way to end your day. We look forward to going back.

Nice house, great location!

The home was very clean. We loved the rushing creek behind the home. So relaxing to listen to. We also loved the cute bridge over the creek and the nice area by the fire pit. This home is very close to several beautiful hiking trails and the Appalachian Trail. We took advantage of being so close and enjoyed several nice hikes. Rafting at the NOC is only about 1 hour drive away so close enough to enjoy that as well. Nice grocery stores close by and several good restaurants. Very friendly people in Franklin as well. We enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful Getaway

The setting is beautiful! The home has a warm and cozy feel but it's plenty spacious for 6 people. The owners are very personable and responsive. My sons loved the creek and that the forest starts in the backyard! Great view of the creek from the sitting room and master bedroom. Lots of windows for natural light and a cool breeze. Nicely furnished. It's the best of both worlds....a quiet home in the forest, about 30 minutes away from the lake and just a short drive to restaurants, shops and and retail stores.

A good stay

The description of property is 100% accurate as are comments made by others who have stayed here. This home has beautiful flowers growing all around the property which adds a beautiful touch. The outside is as good as the inside. VERY clean, cozy and quiet. The electricity went off for seconds the night before we left. It shut off the WIFI and DISH TV. We couldn't figure out how to reset systems. Maybe instructions to do so would be helpful for future guests. We stayed 7 nights and had the best time at the house and in the Franklin area.

Hello, thanks for viewing our property! We bought this home in 2016 because we loved the location on the stream and the fact it is always 10 degrees cooler here than in downtown Franklin! We live a large part of the time in Georgia where summertime heat is inescapable and the Fall leaves are never quite as spectacular. We decided in June of 2017 to share what we think is a wonderful mountain retreat with others. We hope you love it as much as we do! Additionally we have 2 vacation homes in the Florida Keys (VRBO #1027392 and VRBO # 2413494) and another on a beautiful lake in Central Florida, VRBO #1090075.
We take pride in offering guests immaculate surroundings with tasteful decor and all the creature comforts of home.
