The suite is now available for booking. It has a full size bath and shower, dining area, queen size bed to accommodate 2 persons. The convenient kitchenette includes a coffee pot, microwave, refrigerator, cooking surface and toaster. Located directly on Salmon Creek with stunning mountain views, a variety of wildlife including eagles, black bear, grizzly bear, river otter, moose, beaver can be spotted on the property. This superior location provides panoramic mountain, glacier and wildlife viewing directly from the spacious suite. Owned and operated by retired military officer and his wife.

Bear and Berry Lodge was perfect for us! Just minutes from Seward but far enough out of town that you have privacy and it’s quiet. Bed and pillows were so nice and comfortable. We enjoyed the outdoor space to sit out and watch for birds and wildlife. The view from bed was beautiful. We definitely recommend this little cabin!

Perfect Cabin!!

Beautiful handcrafted cabin with big windows to enjoy a large creek and wildlife!! Private, quiet, and roomy. We would love to stay here again!

Nice place

We really enjoyed staying here during our visit to Seward. It was very clean and comfortable and the location was great for visiting the area! We had great weather and really enjoyed eating on the deck and sitting outside in the evening and watching the eagles!

Hands down… one of the best places I’ve stayed. Steve was communicative and so helpful. His place over looks Salmon Creek. Lovely to hear the creek sounds when sleeping! Beds and pillows were surprisingly comfortable. Highly recommend! 10 out of 10

Beautiful and convenient location

We loved this cozy cabin. They have big windows looking out on a creek and we watched bald eagles and other wildlife wander through. The cabin itself is well appointed- we were able to make whole meals here, especially with the bbq. It’s only a six minute drive to town yet feels secluded. We’d stay here again.

Best Place to Stay in Seward!

What an amazing experience! Scott was a gracious host, with helpful communication before and throughout our stay. We loved the location, being close enough for a quick trip into downtown Seward but secluded enough to enjoy the true Alaska. Especially loved the stream filled to the brim with salmon just outside the front door!

Planning next trip

Scott was very friendly and gave us ideas what excursions to do. The view and the privacy were more than we expected. Thank you for the wine, which we drank numerous bottles just hanging out watching the eagles. The town is very quaint and restaurants very close by. We hope to visit again on our way to homer.

Fishing, hiking and lots of relaxing

If you are looking for a great place the is quite but close to town this is it. We were close enough to town, hiking trails and fishing to enjoy all the amenities yet able to escape the hustle when we were at the house. We had a family of 4 stay here with no problems. We enjoyed looking out at all the animal everyday!! Hope to make this a yearly trip!! Thank you Scott and Melanie!!

Great views

Cute, nicely decorated cabin with great views of the creek and trees outside. It was a pleasure meeting Scott and his son as they were getting ready for the summer season. Scott shared his knowledge and information on activities in the area. The cabin was a nice place to rest after some local adventures in Seward.

As advertised, wonderful. Great place to stay

We saw a moms moose with her two babies walk by. Salmon in the stream, bunnies hoped by and an occasional eagle glide by. Scott was most helpful. The only thing I would wish is that we couldn’t hear the road in the distance but I think that is inevitable in Ak. Best place to stay near Seward

A truly Alaskan experience

Such a charming cabin! It truly felt like Alaska with all the furnishings and the view out the windows was the best. We loved watching the bald eagles fly over the creek. If it hadn't rained our entire time, I would have loved to spend most of my time on the deck, listening to the creek and watching the birds. The location was top notch. In a very quiet neighborhood and yet, not that far from Seward. I can't recommend enough!

Great place! Highly recommend!

Great location. Located in a wooded area with a creek running across the property. Caught Dolly Varden trout and pink salmon . Short drive to Seward and it’s activities. Extremely clean facility. Well decorated with Alaskan decor. Gas Grill on the deck for cooking. Very cozy and comfortable.

Well appointed home with beautiful view

My husband and I truly enjoyed staying in this cabin for our stay in Seward. The location is close to town but in a very nice neighborhood with forested acreage outside of town. From the deck in the evenings, we watched eagles fly above the river at the back of the property and saw salmon swimming up river. The inside is well appointed with everything you need and the bed is very comfortable. Scott is a great host. I highly recommend this property for your stay!

Perfect Alaska Cabin

Our stay at Bear and Beary Cabin was excellent. Scott is an excellent host with great local knowledge and help. Generous and gave us a delicious socket salmon filet. What a special treat! Best I’ve eaten! We look forward to return. Loved seeing Melanie’s paintings and studio on-site. Fresh brown bear tracks on the creek edge were a highlight. Thank you for everything Scott!

Eagles and gracious hosts

We had a great time at the Bear & Berry lodge. The place was decorated just as I pictured an Alaska cabin would be with bear skins, moose decor, log furniture. Scott & Melanie were great hosts providing insights and travel tips. Additionally, snacks and a bottle of wine were waiting for us upon arrival! We enjoyed watching the eagles (bald & golden) fishing in the creek plus other birds (mergansers, thrush, spotted sandpipers). It was a quick trip to Seward for groceries and our fishing charter. The place was super clean and we appreciated the kitchen area. Thanks for sharing your place with our family!

Perfect stay near Seward!

We were lucky enough to stay at this beautiful cabin for a few days! It is on the same property as the owners, but you would never feel that way. Scott was super nice and introduced himself after we arrived and was able to give us information and recommendations for the area. Super likeable guy and was generous enough to leave us a bottle of wine and also offered some smoked salmon (which we should have taken him up on)! It was just a short drive from town, yet felt like we were so secluded. I would definitely stay here again. Missed out on some of the wildlife in the area, but the rain didn't let up during our stay. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful place.

Scott's property is in a beautiful location which overlooks the Salmon river. The cabin was clean and maintained. It is in a rural location yet close to the sometime bustling town of Seward. The bed was very comfortable and the room was mostly quite (although the road was fairly close). I had also caught some salmon and Scott was gracious enough to let us keep our fish in his freezer until we were ready to return to Anchorage for a flight home. The only downside was the lack of a grill (it was yet to be replaced) and the cooking plate which turned out to be somewhat of a challenge.
