Whimsical Mountain retreat with gorgeous views and privacy.

Ken and I offer a private mountainside retreat just 15 minutes drive from downtown Asheville and 8 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway which offers endless hiking trails, views, and waterfalls.
Guests stay in a private bedroom, bathroom, hallway area separated from the shared space by a sliding "barn door." You are welcome to enjoy use of the back deck, kitchen, and living room (with wood burning fireplace). My husband and I are the only other people in the home. I also enjoy making breakfast for my guests when I am available (which is most of the time).
There is a fire pit and also a lovely mountainside swimming pool available in season.
God has blessed us with a beautiful home and we'd like to share it with you.
Due to our moral standards we prefer that couples wanting to book in our home be married. However, an alternate option for you would be our LOFT where that rule is more flexible. To book this, go to VRBO #1123338
(see pictures # 11 - 17) This is a separate building on our property, private entrance, and is an additional $30 per night. Breakfast is still available most mornings.

Great views, gracious hosts

Beautiful house with a gorgeous view from the balcony. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. This was the first time we stayed at a property where the hosts also lived--it was wonderful. We enjoyed hanging out with them. Just 15 minutes from downtown Asheville, yet it feels like you are in your own slice of paradise.

Beautiful Handmade home lovely views and a lovely host couple. Great location just off the blue ridge parkway and minutes from all Asheville has to offer . Ken and Becky gave us interesting recommendations which we followed and not disappointed. Thank you for sharing your time and home .

Great Host!

I wasn’t able to go to the mountain retreat due to a sudden illness, and had to cancel my visit at the last minute. I was very disappointed. But, due to Becky’s outstanding communication and kindness, I will reschedule my stay without hesitancy. She reads her emails and responds very quickly, so you always feel welcomed, well-informed, and connected. I travel often for work and don’t like surprises! Directions were sent the day before my planned arrival. After doing extensive research I feel this a very safe, secure, and beautiful place in a nice location and has a rate that is more than fair.

A slice of Paradise

This property is set in the mountains. And in addition to the natural beauty of the mountains, Ken and Becky have enhanced nature with their spectacular pool and multiple terraces and gardens. The night before we were leaving, I reread the VRBO write-up of the property and realized that we were. not renting a cabin in the woods, as I thought, but an en-suite bedroom and bathroom in Ken and Becky’s home. I panicked and called Becky at 10:00 PM to discuss how I and Burt and she and Ken would share the common space including the kitchen. She assured me we could “make it work” including giving me substantial space in her refrigerator. “Make it work” is an understatement. For our week, I felt like I was sharing the house with my sister! One day we even cooked different dinners side-by-side. Typically there is a lot to see and do in Asheville and close by. COVID has shut down some of the attractions but The Biltmore is open and they do an amazing job of maintaining social distancing. Another fun thing that is open is a historical tour of Asheville while riding in a Tukit. We spent most of our time swimming in the pool and enjoying the property and the mountains. We love the property and the view so much that we are going back for a week in August and a “foliage” week-end in late October. Thank you Ken and Becky for being so welcoming and open. We appreciate you and your “little bit of paradise”.

Restful weekend

I can’t say enough positive about this stay. The hosts were extremely friendly and hospitable. The space was very clean and comfortable. It had to be one of the most comfortable getaways we’ve ever had. We also enjoyed the pool that they offered, which was peaceful with beautiful setting all around. I would definitely recommend staying here again. I hope to be back!
