Magazine Street Retreat

A wonderful boutique space in an 1850's townhouse nicely located in the Lower Garden District right on famous Magazine Street and close to everything. Comprising the original library and servant's quarters on the second floor of the main house, lots of historic architectural features including high ceilings, floor to ceiling bedroom windows, exposed brick, old decorative fireplaces, hardwood floors and a private gallery overlooking a courtyard. Just between the bedroom and the living room is a wonderfully tucked away couchette which kids absolutely love.

The apartment is furnished with a wonderful mix of modern pieces and French antiques. A selection of coffee and tea are complimentary during your stay. We are the closest Historic Residential Neighborhood to the French Quarter and Convention Center and a short walk to the Streetcar, the Warehouse District and tons of restaurants and shops.

Your on site host is always available to meet with you to share favorite foodie recommendations or suggestions for interesting and off the beaten path things to do in our city.

* Please note that we have a 7 night minimum over Thanksgiving, Mardi Gras, Christmas, Easter and each weekend of Jazz Fest Wed-Wed

Great location in quiet lower Garden district with delicious dining options (breakfast thru dinner) within walking distance, such a treat! WWII museum is only 10 minute walk as well. The host is very accommodating and quick to reply, and offers an abundant number of dining opportunities and ideas for visitors, very helpful. I would highly recommend this location and look forward to a return trip.

This was such a great place to stay! Excellent location with many wonderful restaurants and a park within walking distance. The host, Jules, was very responsive and shared lots of great restaurants to check out during our visit. The stairs going up to the unit are very steep, but the unit was lovely and had a nice balcony and bistro set to get a bit of fresh air while sipping your morning coffee!

This was the cutest townhouse!! It was perfect! We were within walking distance of everything. It was so clean and nice. There were plenty of towels and bedding for our stay. We will be booking again!

This is our second stay at this lovely Garden District property. The location is perfect- close to the FQ, Warehouse District, Uptown, University area, and even Metairie. Plenty of parking available. Super cute and comfortable. The 2nd bed area was very charming and cozy. Loved opening the doors to the balcony. I am a NOLA native who has moved away and I absolutely recommend the Magazine Street Retreat.

I loved how old, quaint, and cozy it was. Very fitting. Be prepared for stairs. Beds were pretty good. The AC/fans worked well. Loved the convenience of the plugs for electronics by both beds. We had everything we needed.

24th Wedding Anniversary

We enjoyed our stay and time in NOLA. The townhouse was just as described and the hosts were very accommodating and helpful with questions about the area. We would definitely recommend or stay at the townhouse again.

Professional Conference

We were in town to attend a conference. The convention center was conveniently located as were several restaurants. The WWII museum was a short walk and a “must see.” We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and stay.

Long-term stay

We stayed on Magazine St for a month long visit to New Orleans. Was a great location to explore the city. Very quiet, comfortable and much to do and see in the neighborhood. Were able to walk or take the city bus to downtown and the French Quarter.
